I know it seems like it should be a simple thing to do but I just got my iPad today and was trying to get my contacts and calendar that I have on my iPhone over to the iPad. I then realized that none of my contacts and calendars that I have created on my phone are on my computer... So I went to iTunes>Devices>Info and checked to sync my calendars and contacts and also made sure the replaceinfo my my iphone with content on this computer was UNchecked... but nothing has shown up in my iCal or Contacts on the computer... I am unsure of what to do!

I don't mean to sound silly, but after you checked to sync the info, did you do a sync?
you do have the option to sync between devices via iCloud. however you may wish to back up the info if you can because iCloud ate all my contacts.
Another more tedious way is to e-mail your contacts, one at a time, and open the e-mail on your iPad and computer and save it.

Connect to the computer the last backup is on, right click on its name in iTunes, and choose "Restore from backup". If the latest backup is in iCloud make sure you have a WiFi connection, then go to Settings/General/Reset and tap Erase all content and settings. After erasing you will be prompted to restore the iCloud backup.

Let's first define what "new" means. Was it purchased from Apple or your authorized carrier, and it came in a shrink wrapped box? Or is it only new to you, and you don't know its history?
Assuming it truly is a new, never used phone, Error 9 means that the USB connection to the phone is intermittent. Do the following:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (10.4) - if not, download and install it from htp://www.apple.com/itunes
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall software
Disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse
Connect the cable to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub; do not connect the other end to the phone yet (If your computer is a desktop or tower and has ports on both front and back us a port on the back)
Launch iTunes
Connect the phone to the other end of the cable
If the phone is recognized in iTunes proceed with the Restore
If the phone is NOT recognized by iTunes:
Disconnect the cable from the phone (leave connected to the computer)
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen goes blank, then IMMEDIATELY release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button
Connect the cable to the phone while holding the HOME button
Wait for iTunes to recognize the phone, then release the HOME button (this may take several minutes of holding)
If you still have a problem after these steps take the phone to Apple for exchange.

10.5.8 is the highest OSX it can run.
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...

I bought iTunes match and it shows my old Mac as a device, but I cannot access any of the old music. All I can find are what was on my iPhone, but that's not what I want. I need all my old music from my old Mac, which has been wiped clean by IT at my old job. BUT, I did have iCloud at that time and I thought all my music would be accessible through it. I don't understand the Cloud! And I'm thinking spending $24.99 on iTunes Match was a waste of money because I still can't access my old music.

When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.

How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade? Half of my contacts, notes, ect. were on my iCloud so have happily moved to my new iPhone but the rest are completely resistant. For example, on my iCloud I have 14 missing contacts starting with the letter A alone, however they are happily viewable on my old iPhone 4S and won't budge over into the iCloud.
There are also 3 notes missing yet still acessible on my onld iPhone 4S, the list goes on.
Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you so much.
