Just got Apple TV

And I like it... I can listen to my music, watch my music videos, movies, photos, YouTube , Netflix, etc... My only question/concern about this is when I initially turn it on, I have to open iTunes on my iMac. This isn't a problem, exactly, but suppose I watch a couple of music videos then decide to watch a few YouTube videos. If my computer has fallen asleep while I was watching YouTube videos then my apple tv doesn't see my itunes library when I try to use something off of the iMac. I can go wake the computer up and the library reappears. Is this normal? I can't imagine it would be. Why doesn't my apple tv keep a constant connection with my iTunes library?

Can't answer the last few questions.. maybe try Apple in support or genius bar. The answer is above. I sleep display, but never spin down HDs and sleep computer in over a decade. No problems..... that is your answer for mow...... it will work. You can try wake for network access, just to see if it works

I bought a 20gb iPod nearly 18 months ago. 6 months later the hard drive failed so i got it serviced. When it came back it was always freezing and i got so frustrated with it i left it on the shelf for a couple months.
When i eventually got around to seeing if i could get it repaired, the online repair site said the warranty expired. Fair enough i thought i should have got it fixed again right away.
Yesterday i check i my email and get this:

Im confused. Does this mean i got a new one year warranty when it was repaired?
Anyone else had their iPod repaired after more than a year of purchase but less than a year after a repair? I didnt get the full apple care but im tempted to pay the £39 then send it in for repair. Ill give apple a call on Monday but im just curious for now.

the normal warranty is one year from date of purchase, or 90 days from date of repair, whichever gives you the longest term

HT1551 Just got apple tv - I am having issues with the video similar to the jittery picture that I got with blu-rays before turning off "Auto motion plus". Now the netflix streams have that same jittery aspect. Ideas?

I am having jittery video with shows I stream from netflix. (I just set up my apple tv). The problem is similar to what happened when I got my blu-ray player and was solved when I turned off the "Auto motion detect" setting on my television. Ideas?

5o/60Hz settings may or may not help - the TV motion processing is often the main cause of glitches.
If you still see them with motion processing off, then it's either the video encoding, poor stream quality (Netflix) or an AppleTV issue.
There really aren't mny options to play with.
On the internet using a browser you may be able to log in to Netflix and specify video quality.

I just got Apple TV today. Please help.

I can't connect the Remote App to the Apple TV. I just wanted to stream from the phone to the device. My computer is not wireless. My apple tv sits next to my router. If I plug the router into the ATV it does see my computer itunes but then the ATV is not on WIFI and I assumed that was why the remote app would not connect. I unplugged the network connection to the ATV and setup it up wireless but the app still does not find the device. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Power up the ATV and go to settings/network (or something like that, I forget the exact wording) and set up your WiFi network connection. Then connect your iPhone to the same WiFi network and you'll be good to go. On the iPhone, you should see the Airplay icon (see below). You use that icon to select the ATV.

Wha? How in the world do you do that? The ATV has an HDMI connector but the router has Ethernet connectors.

I just got apple TV. the only internet I have is a Verizon MIFI 4g lite.

I am in a bad cell area but my virizon card gets good service but the apple tv gets one bar. when i go to network and try to configure wifi it wont pick up the wifi name and when i manually enter it it says that it cant be found. my computer and iphone are hooked up to it and they work fine. the MIFI holds up to 10 devices so i dont think that is the problem. can the apple tv not connect to cards or do i need to reboot the apple tv or something. thanks

i think it depends on how many songs you have in your library. for me it took about 10 mins or so before all 13000 songs loaded up and showed on my ipad and iphone. try itunes match off on your ipad in the settings and then quick the music app and then turn match back on and then start the music app again and wait a few minutes.

Okay so I figured out the solution by reading other discussions. Basically you need to delete on your phone the icloud account and start up a new icloud account with a new email address. This is nice because you can still share apps without getting everyone elses things. The only thing that didn't get worked out was the notes...
On your phone go to settings and then icloud, scroll down and delete the account. Then just make a new icloud under a new email.
