Just got BT infinity.
We did have one problem though, 1st my old homeplugs which were only 85mb were giving me like very slow speeds 40mb/s, so I just upgraded to the BT Broadband Extender Kit 500mb ones now getting this.
Interesting though, If I connect my laptop directly to the router I get pretty much nearly 80mb/s, must be down to bit of lost with the plugs?
I shouldn't worry to much about it?

You will always get a better connection wired rather than wireless......
(FASTER THAN 94% OF GB) You shouldn't worry too much about it.......

Hello everyone just joined the infinity club! new to BT! *waves" moved from BE* well i have a slight problem the engineer has came and all is installed and working well but I am not getting the quoted speed of 80mb download and 20mb Upload. I phoned BT up and was told it could take up to 24hours but the line came on fine and seems to be stuck with the old profile of 40mb download and 10mb upload (from what i read on the forums that was the old speed) line is very stable and pings are low. just wanted to double check if i should be worried at all since when it comes to customer support i never have much trust for overseas call centres!

Just ordered BT Infinity

Hi All
Just ordered BT Infinity option 2 package 40mb down 10mb up. Speed checker estimated 39.5 down, and the full 10 up. Reading through the posts on here I am slightly anxious about what to expect. I download heavily, game often and stream on a regular basis. Moving from o2 where I have been getting 24mb down, but only 700k up. I understand a lot of people won't post on here, if their service is running fine. The cabinet has just been activated as well, so hopefully no teething problems. Activation is for the 5th of december, so hopefully all goes to plan. Already thinking of changing the router though!
Any tips or recommendations to get the best out of this service (other than keeping the engineer who'll be coming to do the install happy)

My neighbour never waited more than 1 minute with his 2750, the BT installer hadn't even got back to his van when he plugged his 2750 in, settings already verified using my Infinity connection and got 40Mb/s down 8Mb/s up and has done ever since.

Phoned BT one evening and a man came out and had fixed it by 8:30 next morning. BT man didn't seem at all bothered non BT equipment as being used.

Okay so I figured out the solution by reading other discussions. Basically you need to delete on your phone the icloud account and start up a new icloud account with a new email address. This is nice because you can still share apps without getting everyone elses things. The only thing that didn't get worked out was the notes...
On your phone go to settings and then icloud, scroll down and delete the account. Then just make a new icloud under a new email.

Recently whenever i plug my ipod nano to my pc the pc shuts down to a blue screen then a black screen then windows error message i have the latest version of itunes and software i just got this dec 2012

Let's hope a couple things: that you have bootable clones of your drives also; that the backup drive for TimeMachine has over 3x capacity of the data you plan and are storing. I would also switch TM backup drives so you have a 2nd.
Fragmented free space affecting performance happens when the drive is too full which may mean there isn't enough free space for a full backup set.
1.5TB for backing up 500GB, while WD Green 3TB is $140 and WD Black 1.5TB is, about the same price.
I'd be worried about the integrity and directory, and whether you can afford to lose that drive. Defragging is also a very slow operation. the ideal: to just clone a drive, or start over with another drive and wait. cloning TM volumes has not been done or has it? SuperDuper hoped to but I don't think they or Bombich's CCC made it there.
Trouble with highly fragged is when free space gets to 20% normally, 1/3 or so though for TM volumes, and finding where and a chunk of space for the file being written. Does TM use large spare image files of like 2GB?

Apple has a 90 warranty warranty on all of their repairs. You should take your computer back to the repair shop. Or call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775. Wait for a human to come on the line and ask politely and firmly that you want to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department. Tell them your issue.

And I can't update my itunes because it is at the point where it can not update for now so I don't know when it will ever update to 10.7 but right now I am stuck on 10.6.3. And if I can't get it to update how will I be able to sync my music into this new ipod, what should I do?

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD or use a combination of these instructions and iTunes Match to put content onto the iPod touch.

Just got a new iphone and am syncing it with itunes, but it will not transfer my new music or voice memos. Help?

I just got a new iphone 3GS and was trying to sync it with my itunes information from my old phone. However, I keep getting multiple error messages and after the sync is complete, I find that everything has transferred except my purchased itunes music and voice memos (I record my class lectures). I am not sure what I can do to fix this. Any ideas?

The error messages are:
-"Attempting to copy to the disk 'My Iphone' failed. An unknown error occured (-69)."
-"The iphone 'My Iphone' cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in itunes library."
-"The iphone 'My Iphone' cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13010)."

The Mac version will use your Apple ID as the first and only choice...
... Until you add the same Apple ID to Messages on the iPhone.
Once this is done it is best to Restart the app on the Mac.
This will then get at least one, possibly two pop up saying the iPhone in using the Apple ID and the iPhone Number.
Accepting these Pop ups will enable the iPhone as an ID to be used in the Receive At List.
It will also appear in the drop down at the bottom for "Start New Conversations from"
If you did not set iyt up like this then remove the apple ID from the iPhone in the Settings > Messages.
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode to break with the server.
Take it out of Airplane Mode and re-add the Apple ID in the Messages settings.
Then Restart the app on the Mac as above.
Having done this you can still turn Off the Apple ID on the iPhone (receive as the iPhone number only) or disable the iPhone Number on the Mac (receive Apple ID stuff only)
The Start New Conversations option on the Mac version means you could use the iPhone number so people don't get your email.

in the iPhoto preferences be sure the action when camera is connected is open iPhoto
What program are you using to import the photos?
If they are in a folder you can drag that folder onto the iPhoto icon in the dock to import - our launch iPhoto and under the file menu import from that folder

You can send over WiFi, but it sounds as if you need to setup your Gmail account, or did you do this already?
