Just got g4 used, please help!!
Hi,
I am only fairly familiar with mac, but am very familiar with PC. I just got a good deal on a PowerMac G4 at an auction from an old imaging company for practically free and its in pretty much brand new condition, barely used.
It has OS X 10.2.8, jaguar I believe. 896mb of memory and 350mhz processing speed.
It is slow as all get-out. I want to know what I need to upgrade to and the cheapest way to do so. I WILL be using PRO TOOLS and FINAL CUT on this computer extensively. What is the best OS X system to support these two main programs? I need whatever system to of course support the firewire ports.
Please let me know any info you have will be appreciated. I am a student and will be using this for editing music and video for school.

Unfortunately you posted in the MacPro usage forum. These are Intel based and are the latest Towers Apple offer. Yours G4 is about ten years old. My G4 is 9 years old and was a 450 Dual (since upgraded) so, not knowing exactly what you have, I'm pretty close guessing it's ten years old (AGP Model?).
For general ?'s, like how to repair or what version of OSX you can run, post that in the G4 usage forum. If you want to upgrade the G4, RAM, proccessor, etc. post that in the G4 expansion forum.
My notes, you can upgrade the processor but you will be putting in more money then the G4 is worth. I did it to mine cause I got one on sale and still needed the machine. Even with the bigger processor it's still slow compared to todays Macs because it has a low bus speed. Nothing you or I can do about that. I also added as much RAM as possible. That has gotten cheaper now.The highest OS you could use is Tiger. You will need at least 256MB of RAM, but most of us feel it should be 512MB or higher.
Leopard requires a 867MHz processor or higher and will run on a G4 if upgraded.
You will need as high a version as possible to run Pro Tools and Final Cut and plenty of RAM.

If you're unsure about the specific Mac model you have, you can plug in its serial number here and it will give you the model and its specifications. (provided by Majordadusma)

Windows XPiPods can be used on as many computers as you like. If it is set to update automatically just connect it to your computer and it will syncronise with your iTunes library and update itself. If you are unfamiliar with iPods you'll find all you need to know to get started on this page: iPod nano Fast Start: The New User's Guide to iPod nano
You might also want to Rename your iPod. Once you have read the introduction page and have your iPod loaded up just follow the instructions below.
Select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
Click on it's its name again.
The text box will open for editing.
Type a new name.

I updated imovie and I used to be able to save as Quicktime file, now not an option & files are so large when I save as mpeg4 and just rename them. Please help!
Actually it is easier than I thought. It is H264 but the wrapper is m4v. You can just change that in the finder to .mov and drop it into iDVD. iMovie will send it to iTunes so just right click on it in iTunes and select reveal in finder and then copy/paste to desktop and change to .mov. Then drag into iDVD. Really easy.

Connect the HDD to your MBP. Open Disk Utility>Erase and drag the HDD icon inrt the Name field. The format should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Click on the Erase button.
Then try the clone process again. You may use Disk Utility>Restore or a third party cloning application such as Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper.

Remove preferences on Mac OS
Quit Dreamweaver.
In the Finder, navigate to /Users/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe.
Rename the Dreamweaver preferences folder:
Dreamweaver CS5: Rename the Dreamweaver CS5 folder to, for example, Old Dreamweaver CS5.
Navigate to /Users/Your User Name/Library/Preferences.
Rename the Dreamweaver preferences file:
Dreamweaver CS5: Rename the Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Prefs file to, for example, Old Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Prefs.
Try to re-create problem
After you have removed your existing preferences, restart Dreamweaver. The application creates new preferences files, folders, and registry entries, as applicable, using the default settings.
Then try to re-create the problem that you had before.
If the problem was resolved, then damaged preferences was the cause.
If the problem persists, then the preferences are not the cause and you can replace the original preferences.
To replace the original preferences:
Quit dreamweaver.
Delete the new preferences folder and restore the original name of the previous folder. -

Without proper system information and other details nobody can help you. and this error means what it says - some other install process is still active, even if it may not do so visible. Could be a silent update of a virus scanner or something, could be a botched install of another program, not even specifically Adobe. As a start, always reboot your computer and then try again. For anything else we need much more info.

If you mean the hexidecimal equivalent of the alphanumeric password, then you can find this via the AirPort Utility, as follows:

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -
My iPod used to be signed in with my moms apple ID but now I have my own. When I opened IMessage it wanted me to sign in, but on the last step it said, "your email can't be verified since its already in use" please help I want to use IMessage.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)
