Just got iPod from servicing... refuses to charge
been attempting to charge my new (to me) iPod from the service center, (just got it today -_-) and nothing is working. USB 2, firewire, AC outlet, nothing is doing it. It just lingers at the first power bar and nothing else. Any ideas? I hate the idea of sending THIS one back to get another one... I've tried resetting over a dozen times, as well as reloading.
Same problem! It had been working fine but like I said in my previous post right now it's not charging and the battery suddenly ran down. Can anybody help? I mean last time eventually it started working again. But I am not sure why?
I bought it in Best Buy but now I've moved to France so I am pretty much screwed to get a replacement I think...

I just got home from the Apple store where I was told I need a new battery. The new battery is in, The charger light is bright green the icon reads 28%, and has flashed not charging a few times. I thought the green light meant the battery was charged? In fact the percentage is decreaciingand now the light is a light green flicker. Is something else wrong?

Just got back from the Apple Store...optical drive officially dead
I just got back from the Apple Store, which confirmed what I feared all along. I received my MBP C2D over the holidays and was worried when it had trouble booting up several times. After trying to burn a few cds (some would quit, others worked fine), and a few discs that refused to read or eject I visited the boards to find out that issues with the Matshita UJ 587 were widespread. At this point my computer does not even recognize the ATA or Disc Burning hardware or the OSX disc inside. The only positive to come out of this is the customer service offered by Apple. I took the computer to the genius bar and the computer refused to boot up after the tech installed an OSX disc (hence the stuck cd inside). They are giving me a new computer since this one is brand new, but unfortunately I will have to order it from Apple Care since it is a custom job. For all of you out there with early MBP C2D optical drives that are acting up I feel your pain. Get your computer into an Apple store before the problem gets worse, these optical drives are awful.

The computer was shipped back this afternoon and I'll post again if there's any trouble with the new unit, I think I just got a lemon with this one...too bad. This is my first Mac so I'm really trying hard to stay positive.

Just got back from buying the iPhone
Just got back from the Apple Store, and finally got the 8 GB iPhone. I've heard the stories, read the discussion boards, but I love Apple products so I'm making the shift. I put the clear protector that I bought a few weeks back on before I even touched the screen (great product). I have a Vaja case on its way, should be here Thursday so I think I will wait to activate it until then (should be fun looking at the iPhone on my desk every day not being able to use it).
I'm going to be syncing to 2 computers like a lot of other people I have read. My Outlook 2007 from XP for my contacts & calendar and my PowerBook for my music, movies, and media.
I'm switching wireless carriers, also, so those of you actually HAPPY with their iPhone, that's what I need to be hearing right now. Sorry for the post, just excited to finally get this thing!iphonechik wrote:

My children just got iPods touch. I registered them on my account so they can have acces to my I tunes Acc. Now they have all my list of contacts receive my messages have my music my pics, also when they install an app like pandora they have all my stations, things that they don't want. How can I fix this.
As for iMessage, you do Settings -> Messages (scroll down) -> where it says iMessage, turn the switch to off.
As for pictures, you do Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> My Photo Stream -> turn switch off.
As for apps, you do Settings -> iTunes & App Stores (scroll down alot) -> Music, Apps, Books are all swtiched off.
If you want to the delete the music, you go onto the music app and slide your finger from right to left on the song. -

Just got back from iraq.....sound isnt workin on my computer
hey i recently just got back from iraq and while unpacking all my computer stuff from storage i went to turn my computer on and i dont have any sound, now i am somewhat knowledgable with computers and i've tried everything i can think of (uninstalling my soundblaser, uninstalling the on board sound , removing the soundblaster, and completly taking apart my whole computer. when i went to put everythng 2gether the computer read taht i had the soundcard and it went straight to the installing screen but when i started to install the driver half way through i got a warning message saying that the soundcard was not detected. in the device manager i keep getting the conflicting icon for the onboard sound. o yea the only sounds i get are from the computer itself. someone please help thanks.
ted v.Have you uninstalled all old drivers? Check that the card is inserted 00% in the pci slot? Change Pci slot? Update bios, and chipset drivers. Maybe if nothing else helps, try re-installing Windows or the OS you are using!! Hope something hel

You need to use the Apple IDs that you created for them for iCloud as well as iTunes. You will also find that you need to use them for messages and face time. -

NOO it's not broken it is a software error. What you need to do is put your phone into what is called DFU mode or Device Firmware Upgrade Mode. What you have to do is connect your phone to itunes but do not start the sync process. Ignore any popups from itunes initially. When you are connected to itunes take your phone and hold down the home button and power button at the same time. Hold them down for about 30 seconds or so and you should see your device screen rollover to the black screen and disconnect from itunes once this happens it will reboot and automatically connect to iTunes, after this happens start the restore process through itunes and it should continue past the error message.
* Also before you do this try ejecting your sim card if you have the at&t model if you are on Verizon ignore this. There is a small oval port on the right side of the phone with a small pinhole. Use a paperclip and insert it into the hole, the door will pop open. Take the door out, remove the sim card and wait 5 minutes then return the sim card back into the phone and begin the above process.
If none of this works you may just want to bring it the genius bar and have them look at it. Good Luck and I hope this helps! -

Recently just got ipod restored..Doesn't register in my itunes at all help!
hey...just yesterday i went to apple beacause my iPod had a unhappy face and the guy restored my software i believe and told me to go home charge it for a couple hours and then to replug it into my pc so i could store my music again. My iPod isn't coming up though in my iTunes. How do i fix this because right now i can't use my iPod at all.

have a look in "My Computer" while the ipod is plugged in. is it showing up there?
if it isn't showing up in My Computer, try:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows
if it is showing up in My Computer, try:
iPod for Windows: Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported
iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes

i got an ipad mini for christmas, charged fully. was using it..and it was fine.. went to turn it back on to use again and it's a blank screen. went to plug in and nothing seems to show it's charging or anything. why can this happen??
Try resetting it. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds. Hopefully you will see the Apple logo.
If it's a brand new iPad Mini (with retina display), it is under warranty. You can always take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center for service. -

You will never be able to activate that phone without the proper credentials. Ask him to reset his Apple ID password as he has forgotten it. After he does that, you will need to turn off Find my iPhone on the phone before you restore it.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I accidentally deleted my windows partition
