can anyone help me how can i get my PC to recognise my Ipod nano 1gb I'e downloaded itunes but can't get my p to find my ipod

As for iMessage, you do Settings -> Messages (scroll down) -> where it says iMessage, turn the switch to off.
As for pictures, you do Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> My Photo Stream -> turn switch off.
As for apps, you do Settings -> iTunes & App Stores (scroll down alot) -> Music, Apps, Books are all swtiched off.
If you want to the delete the music, you go onto the music app and slide your finger from right to left on the song.

Just got iPod from servicing... refuses to charge

been attempting to charge my new (to me) iPod from the service center, (just got it today -_-) and nothing is working. USB 2, firewire, AC outlet, nothing is doing it. It just lingers at the first power bar and nothing else. Any ideas? I hate the idea of sending THIS one back to get another one... I've tried resetting over a dozen times, as well as reloading.

Same problem! It had been working fine but like I said in my previous post right now it's not charging and the battery suddenly ran down. Can anybody help? I mean last time eventually it started working again. But I am not sure why?
I bought it in Best Buy but now I've moved to France so I am pretty much screwed to get a replacement I think...

Just got iPod shuffle for a new family member, but it won't work

I got an iPod (nano) for christmas this year, and that one installed fine. Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so we got her an iPod (shuffle). Since we all share a computer, and iTunes is already hooked up to this one, we figured it would work. When she plugged it into the USB port, well nothing happened. I've been going through everything since I got home about an hour ago. I can't find anything about installing a second iPod to iTunes. Anybody feel like helping?

Who did you get it in the mail from? Apple, Verizon, or someone else? What model iPhone? Some models need to be activated by Verizon. There's a number you can call to activate it; check your Verizon documentation.

I just got ipod touch and it wont go on wifi. i put in password of our home (and i have done this with my iphone and ipad with no problems) and it just keeps spinning on this new i pod touch

hey...just yesterday i went to apple beacause my iPod had a unhappy face and the guy restored my software i believe and told me to go home charge it for a couple hours and then to replug it into my pc so i could store my music again. My iPod isn't coming up though in my iTunes. How do i fix this because right now i can't use my iPod at all.

have a look in "My Computer" while the ipod is plugged in. is it showing up there?
if it isn't showing up in My Computer, try:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows
if it is showing up in My Computer, try:
iPod for Windows: Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported
iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes

Just got ipod 3G, BIG difference between Ipod Touch 1G and 3G

#1....the speakers and volume controls make a big difference.
#2....the speed is also a major difference, My TV apps play more smoothly on the 3G than the 1G. The 1G would NOT play TV channels without the picture continuously stopping and starting.
#3....the appearance of the 3G seems like it is thinner, it looks more expensive.
#4.....I also heard that there is a deactivated FM transmitter inside the 3G so when the next update comes, it will include the ability to play fm radio.
I waited for a year and a half for this update and it was worth the wait even without a camera. I will probably buy the ipod nano for the camera.

it'd be nice if the FM transmitter rumour is true, but don't go holding your breath (i think if this week's lack of camera update has taught us anything, it's taught us not to expect any rumours to be true!) i'm not entirely sure why they'd put a deactivated fm transmitter in there and not activate it straightaway, but stranger things have happened.
i too have upgraded from a 1G to a 3G, and will agree with you on all those points. although points 1 and 3 were true for the 2G as well.

I suspect this has something to do with your computer, based on the fact that a second brand new iPod is repeating this behaviour. Try a different USB port. Some computers have a different mix of different types eg. powered etc.
Nevertheless...
Extend the reset by putting the iPod into disk mode directly afterwards. This is a much more communicable state for the iPod to be in. If that succeeds, then go ahead and try to restore.
Reset + Disk Mode
1) Slide the lock button to ON.
2) Slide the lock button to OFF.
3) Press 'menu' and 'centre' button together for several seconds.
4) When you see the Apple logo, press the 'centre' and 'play/pause' buttons simultaneously for several seconds.

I just got ipod touch I havent took it out the box yet but I wanted to know any tips and tricks I can use to help me get started. I wanted to know if I need the software update and I also have a ipod nano can I still use them both? or can I make my ipod touch my default ipod in my itunes? Thanks

If you get a new iPod Touch you will get the updated software andyway and, believe me, it is worth it. While you won't have continuous connections to the Internet, many hot spots are out there so you can check e-mail, YouTube, etc as well as surf the net in those places where hot spots are. In addition, the iCal function works great and the Map program is fantastic.
What has happened is that the iTouch is becoming a useful PDA as well as having the great music function. I don't know if you "need" these but I find that the programs make the iTouch a much much more useful device for what I do.
Regrarding "default" status: When you connect your iTouch to your Mac, iTunes will recognize it as a separate iPod and you can set up the syncing, etc just for it. When you connect your other iPod(s) iTunes recognizes those as separate devices for syncing, etc. I have a Nano and an iTouch and that is the way it works so you don't have to worry about a "default" set up.

Soundblaster Audigy 4 Installation disk is currupted..

Hi ..Can anybody please advise what I can Do... I purchased a used Soundblaster Audigy 4...3 weeks ago .. I have just tryed to install it but the Installation Disk is currupted.. I have tryed it on two different computers and tryed to copy files using special ISO programs but no go? I have downloaded the latest drivers from the Creative site and I also have a Audigy 2 Platinum Pro.... Its disk is perfectly alright .... If I cannot get a Audigy 4 ISO could I install the programs from the Audigy 2 disk then overwrite the drivers.... Thanks for your anticipated help...HK

I just got a new Ipod mini and it won't stop reformatting!

I just got my Ipod mini, and put in the installation disc. I got to the screen where it says to connect your ipod (so i did) and to see if it needs reformatting. well, it did, so I am now waiting for it to stop reformatting so i can finished installing itunes and the rest. it has now been on the same screen for over an hour. is this normal? and if not, what should i do? should i "continue without connecting my ipod" as one checkbox asks?

If you are stuck in the formatting/Restore process, click on the little 'x' in the top corner. It may take you to the next stage in the process. Sometimes it gets hung up.
If this doesnt work:
- Shut down the computer
- Disconnect the iPod
- Restart the computer
- Run the updater again
- Connect the iPod when prompted.
Post back with results, or a bit more detail on where you are in the process.

Hi Just got 30GB Ipod w/video ,can't figure out........

Just got my Ipod as a gift.. I was so excited that I failed to realize my operating system wasn't in accordance for the installation. Initaily my ipod allowed me to download songs from my computer but then on the second night i hooked it up to my computer I feel asleep while charging it. When I woke up and tried to turn it on the folder with the exclamation point was there. I called Apple and explained. I was told all I would have to do is upgrade my operating system( which was okay since I needed to do it anyway ). Once I did that I could do the restore and it would be okay. Well I did the restore after upgrading and it's recognized by the computer and i was able to put music on it. But when I disconnect it from the computer it still shows that folder and exclamation point. I tried the reset thingy several times and nothing. I just want my ipod to work..what should i do????

OK, now you need to decide 'how' you want to manage your music. You have a couple of options:
Using the existing iTunes installation on your PC
If you want to use the same library and iTunes installation, then you can just re-connect the iPod to the computer via the USB or Firewire. iTunes will launch and ask you to register the iPod. To manage your music, you now have two further options. You could either:
Use 'Auto-Synch' to transfer the entire music library and playlist selections to your iPod.
OR
Use the 'Manual Synch' option to manually drag and drop the songs and playlists that you want on to your iPod.
OR
Set up a 'Master' playlist which contains all the songs you like, and then set the iPod to automatically synch to that.
^^where do I find those options Auto synch, manual synch, and master synch? And can you provide more information about each of them? (I am a bit of amateur at this.) How can I make a separate library, from my sister's library already in the computer? Like example, Amanda's Library (Thats me.) and well Katie's Library (which is already in comp.) Because I do have a different taste of music. Is there a way or no; because I just want a fresh new library for me and not combining it w/ hers.
