Just got it an it froze!!!! HELP!!!

I literally jus took it out of the box 20 min. ago, installed the cd, my computer says it doesnt recognize the usb port and now its frozen and none of the restart fix its they offered on this site help ... what do i do????

Short circuiting is normal behavior for any powered port into which something inappropriate and conductive is inserted. It happens because because people don't look at what they're doing, not because anything is wrong with the MBP's ports. If you look carefully at the interior of a MacBook Pro and how its many parts are arranged, it will immediately be clear that very little of the case's perimeter is available for ports. Nearly all of its perimeter is occupied by the optical drive, hard drive, battery, and the large air vents hidden behind the hinge cover (which itself contains the airport card and antenna because they can't be enclosed in metal without drastically reducing wireless signal strength). The only way to move the ports farther apart would be to reduce their number or increase the size of the case — neither of which is viewed as an acceptable option by Apple, apparently.

Hi everyone,
I just got a 5530 xpressmusic from newegg, and I can't seem to be able to figure if the volume rocker on the side of the phone can change ringer volume, or just the speaker volume when on the phone. It seems that a volume rocker should be able to adjust the volume of the ringer, but it doesn't on my phone, I have to go to profiles to change the volume.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Just got X-Fi Fatal1ty Need Help plea

I have just got the X-Fi Fatalty but I'm having a problem with this card. My system will not boot up when i have this card in at all Even when i have just a HD, Graphic card, CD,
It power up my system then give some beeps and does not go any futher than that. I have a 480W Thermaltake Xaser Silent Purepower and it just wont do any thing.
If i conect all my HD's up and put my Old SB Audigy 2 card in it boots up ok.
yes i have conected the power cable to the X-Fi Fatalty.

remove the crad from your PC. start it. turn off. return card into it and look if trhe PC boots. when this doesnt help, try this: update your BIOS to the newerst one. I had the same porblem when the card was new last yer in my A8N-SLI deluxe.

I have two gmail accts, I tried to set them up, but it keeps asking me for a incoming mail server, and a out going mail server. What do I do?
My iCloud mail is already on the iPhone 4S

How are you setting them up? If you go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add new account and select "Gmail", you shouldn't have to input any server information.
If you're doing something else, Google should be able to provide you with server information. Or, if you have the same account on an computer, check your email settings there.

When i try to go out of a text conversation and go to all of my texts it glitches and goes to the home screen. I've tried everything, and I just got this phone yesterday please help.

Have you reset your device?
Have you done ANY troubleshooting on your own yet?
Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails (or you haven't tried a dang thing yet)
Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.
Relaunch the App and try again.

Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)

Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

I Just got off the Microsoft Technical Help line (Australia ph132058) and they refused to help me because I am running Win 8.1 in Bootcamp.
I have the latest Mac Book Pro Retina with a 1TB Solid State Hard drive running Win 8.1, beautiful machine, but its slower than my old MBP running windows 7 on a standard Drive.
The niggiling problem is that it seems to hang up for seven or 8 seconds on menial tasks........ like generating a new Folder or Note etc. Otherwise it runs reasonably well but not blindingly fast....
I wasn't aware Microsoft refused to help win 8.1 users on the Mac Platform........ shouldn't this Information be made more public...! Seems they are keen to drive potential Windows users away!!
Any suggestions on where I should go for help on this (Windows/Bootcamp in General) would be much appreciated ? ........ don't mind paying a reasonable price if the service is good......
I guess the wheel has turned and Microsoft are having a go at Apple again...?

I was thinking along the same lines. I installed Win 8.0 Pro and upgraded to 8.1 ........ probably a bad move.
I have bought a new 8.1 Licence but cant risk doing a complete reinstall until I have a back up machine ready. (My old MBP is getting a new hard drive) ......... so will give that a go in about a weeks time when the back up is in place. Cant risk having nothing!
When you say "Clean Install" ..... do you mean everything ..... as in Reformat the Bootcamp sector and start from scratch.?
I have a 2 TB LaCie Thunderbolt drive with my back up data on ..... is there a way to make the Reinstall process and large amount of Data transfer easy?
The reinstall is something I need to read up on. I was hoping the solution might be some kind of Tune up on the SSHD.
Good to hear you have a number of MBP's that are flying, I would be disappointed if the final quality wasnt a bit better.
..... do you have any tips on screen Res on the Retina ..... I am running Windows at 125% Zoom, but the Bluetooth, power, wireless, Date Icons etc are all still tiny ...... could really do with an alternative to the old "Advanced Appearance Settings"
