Just got it... can I cancel?

I got a bt internet and tv package, but the internet is too slow to run some of the tv features, not massively keen to keep paying a service that wont work properly for the entire contract .
Will they let me remove this from my contract? Id like the service especially the sports, but if the internet they provide isnt fast enough what can I really do

You would not be able to remove it until the contract for the BT Vision package has ended, otherwise you would have to pay cancellation charges.
When you placed the order, a test would have been made to ensure that your line would support BT Vision. If it was too slow, then your order would not have been taken.
You can get help from forum members to sort out the speed problem. I assume that you have ADSL.
What download speed are you getting?

Just got T440, can't open top/lid to turn it on
I just got my new laptop today - but I can't open it to turn it on. My old T61 has a little latch on one side you just flicked and it opened right up. This has two silver things on the front, but I've tried everything and I can't get it to open. I've pressed one, both at the same time, pressed hard, pressed lightly. Been trying to open for over 20 minutes now but it won't budge.
Will I have to send it back solely because I can't open it?

I just received my ipad2 today, and did all the sync routine. The wifi is working, but I can't seem to access the net. I get an error message stating "Cannot open page, Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet." What am I doing wrong?
Tap Settings in the Home screen then tap General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart the iPad. Press and hold down the Sleep / Wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to the right to power off, then hold down the Sleep / Wake button until you see the Apple logo.

my ipod 4g has the apple care for 1 year can you get a new one for it because something happen to it the mirrer broke yes or no
AIf the iPod broke because of a defect then yes, Apple will replace the iPod if it is within the warranty period. A broken/cracked screen is not covered. However, sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store they will exchange your iPod at no cost if it has a broken/cracked screen.

Just got one, can't get it to turn on!!! HELP!!
Yes i've gone through all the steps on this website. When i opened up my nano it worked up until i started putting songs on it. somewhere in between i had 57 songs on it when it stopped adding songs. it just says do not disconnect, and when i try to eject it it gives me a battery warning and goes back to 'do not disconenct' if i do disconnect it and start it up all it says is www.apple.com/support/ipod.
I've updated software, restarted, reset my ipod, all of this. what do i do???Hi strandy17,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try the reset again.
1) Slide the hold switch on, till you see orange.
2) Slide the hold switch to off (no orange).
3) Hold down the center (select) and Menu buttons at
the same time for 6 seconds (or more) and let go when
the Apple appears on the screen.

Just got Vonage, Can't connect to internet
I just purchased Vonage telephone service. I have my cable modem connected to the Vonage Vtech router connected to my computer. Phone works great but the computer doesn't seem to recognize the new set up. I've spent 3+ hours on the phone w/ vonage to no avail...Please Help...thank you.

It should not be allowed that people put a fake app and charge money for it. That is bad busienss practice and damages Apple more than any body else. I only lost 1 dollar but will cost Apple much more since it made an unhappy customer who will say about her bad experience to at least 10 other people. -
I just got a new IPad mini and must have entered in a 4 digit passord. I can't remember what it is, so I can't get on the IPad. I had not connected it to Itunes yet.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I just got a new computer and need to move my itunes library from my old computer to the new computer. Does anyone know how to do this or where I can get the information? Thanks!
If you Google ipod nano 6th generation manual, you can download the PDF manual. Here's a quote from page 19:
Transfer purchased content to another computer:
1 Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
2 Connect iPod nano to the newly authorized computer.
3 In iTunes, choose File > Transfer Purchases from iPod.
Songs that are not from the iTunes store can be copied to the new computer, and you just have to do File>Add to Library to get them into iTunes. And if you don't plan to continue using your old computer, you should deauthorize it because you only get 5 authorizations for iTunes store purchases, and this will cancel out the authorization on the old computer. -
I just got a Mac started it up and had to update 2 apps they were pages and aperture it said that update i'm available with this Apple ID may be bought by a different user or item was refunded or cancelled I've have not done either. Please help
Try each of these in order until one works:
Open App Store and click on your Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept them, then do so.
Put the old ones into the Trash, temporarily. Open App Store and see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If asked to buy them, see the next option.
Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
You will have to purchase them using your Apple ID. -
My hubby just got me a macbook air for Xmas which is awesome. Set it up to be able to ichat on it as well as on my iphone. Only now i wont get texts on my iphone- ONLY on my laptop. How can i configure so that I can get texts on my computer AND my phone. NOT just one or the other? Please help!

The Mac version will use your Apple ID as the first and only choice...
... Until you add the same Apple ID to Messages on the iPhone.
Once this is done it is best to Restart the app on the Mac.
This will then get at least one, possibly two pop up saying the iPhone in using the Apple ID and the iPhone Number.
Accepting these Pop ups will enable the iPhone as an ID to be used in the Receive At List.
It will also appear in the drop down at the bottom for "Start New Conversations from"
If you did not set iyt up like this then remove the apple ID from the iPhone in the Settings > Messages.
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode to break with the server.
Take it out of Airplane Mode and re-add the Apple ID in the Messages settings.
Then Restart the app on the Mac as above.
Having done this you can still turn Off the Apple ID on the iPhone (receive as the iPhone number only) or disable the iPhone Number on the Mac (receive Apple ID stuff only)
The Start New Conversations option on the Mac version means you could use the iPhone number so people don't get your email.

I'm not really a computer guy. I just got a Kodak"easy share" camera. When I import the photos they go to the section with my name in a folder. How do I get them from there to iphoto, or better yet, how can i import them directly to iphoto?? As stated, I'm not knowledgable,have an imac and need real rudimentary direction.
in the iPhoto preferences be sure the action when camera is connected is open iPhoto
What program are you using to import the photos?
If they are in a folder you can drag that folder onto the iPhoto icon in the dock to import - our launch iPhoto and under the file menu import from that folder
For real rudimentary directions try the iPhoto tutorials - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration. for the concepts - actual commands mya have shanged in some cases - and under the iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto help - watch the videos there

I just got my iPad, I have an iPod. When I go to put apps on my new ipad it says my apple ID Is disabled. I have reset the passwords. Somehow I have two id's?
