Got my week 38 Macy Gray 16GB Touch that I pre-ordered on Apple.com today. Works flawlessly so far and the screen looks great. I don't have an iPhone to compare side by side, but I've played with the iPhone a bit and this screen looks as good as I remember the iPhone looking.

I just got an iTouch and whenever I try to sync it to iTunes it keeps poping up with a message that says something like "cannot sync or read file". What should I do?

My husband just got me an iPad2 for Mothers day and today when I tried to sign on to it it said I do not have a cellular data network? I'm at work where we have Wi-fi. Can't I just use that to sign onto my webmail and to get onto the internet?
If you are in a wi-fi only area, then you need to join a wi-fi network. Does your office have wi-fi? Has the Admin given you the iformation to join the wi-fi network?
To join a wi-fi network...
1. Go to Settings/Wi-Fi
2. Tap Other...
3. Enter the name of your wi-fi network
4 Tap Security
5. Tap the type of security the network uses and return to Wi-Fi
6. Enter the password and tap Join -
Also there is no sound coming from videos but sound does come when I type words in and such. Is there a mute button on? At one point I saw a speaker icon show up in the middle of the youtube page but it only stayed for a second and I never was able to get it to show up again. So frustrated!

OK. Following instructions, I've uninstalled the old Flash Player and installed the right one, and videos are now playing. Thanks for pointing me to the other posts on this site. YouTube and other videos are now playing
Some of the videos still play jerkily (they don't stream evenly). A few stream evenly once they've been allowed to buffer fully. (I think I'm using these terrms correctly.) Is this solely caused by low bandwidth, or is there something—an adjustment of some kind—that I can do with Flash Player to have online videos stream evenly, even from the moment I start them?
As I mentioned, to bypass this uneven streaming while watching online, I download the videos and watch them usually using Quicktime Player 7.6.4. Still, they don't always play evenly, but for the most part do.
I've just tested bandwidth and I'm told:
5.63 Bbps Download speed
0.63 Mbps Upload speep

I just got a new itouch and i can't get imessage or facetime to work on my home network
I just got a new itouch 4 and i can't get imessage and facetime to work on my home wifi network (Airport Express). I can't explain it. The itouch works fine otherwise uncluding the internet. Facetime and imessage work at the apple store so there must be something wrong with my home network. Please help if you can!
iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 as you suggested with no success, I even tried 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 as suggested by others with no success either. When I try and activate iMessage or Facetime, I still get the same message "could not sign in, please check your network connection". The internet and Mail work perfectly fine on the iPod touch so the WiFi signal IS going through. I am at a loss, any other suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks!

I just got a new itouch and cannot load any music or media onto it using the newest version of itunes. Every time I try the loading bar at the top says "finding purchased items" and then everything locks down and I have to force quite out of itunes. How do I make this stop???
Make sure the computer is authorized. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.

I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wifes apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wifes apple id for iTunes?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -

How did you get your songs onto your iPod Touch?
If purchase directly from iTunes you can download them again.
If your iPod is synced to iTunes on a Windows PC, then, sync your iPod to that computer.
If this is your first Mac, are you migrating from a Windows PC?

I just got a new computer and I copied all my songs onto a hardrive and then added it to itunes. Some of them are missing from my itunes and some are "unable to be located". All of my songs I have purchased on my itouch "cannot be located" and i cannot play them. They are still on my itouch and i want to transfer my itouch playlists to my new itunes.
That is true, songs that you bought have different coding than songs that you downloaded illegally so that police can tell if you bought the song or downloaded it illegally. Also a lot of songs now with iTunes do require the account that bought it to access it in order for it to work.

5 plus years ago my wife had the only Apple ID and as a family we all used her Itunes account to buy and listen to music. A couple years later, I (husband) bought my first iPhone - the only iDevice in the household. When I set that iphone up, I used the wife's apple ID as I wanted access to all of the itunes music we had as a family. So now years later, all of my Apps etc have been purchased via the Wife's Apple ID. To make matters worse for my situation, my 10 yr old daughter got an iTouch for Christmas and i decided to use my actual (husband) Apple ID as daughter is a minor and I felt I could manage her iTouch Apps content that way. We have just recently bought our first iMac and I had yet to understand or get to work the iCloud or the Home Sharing of iTunes. To make matters worse, I have never synched my 3G iphone because of the whole Apple ID issue. I should also mention that the primary 'authorized' computer for my wife's itunes account is an old PC that we almost never use anymore as it runs soooo slow. So I am left to wonder how to go about making the transition to get the old PC 'deauthorized' after I somehow transfer all itunes files from the old PC to the new iMac. I now have the new iPhone5 and i REALLY want to get to the point where i have my iphone on my apple id and my wife has her apple id (no iphone for her yet - probably coming soon though). On the new iMac i have created a login for me and one for my wife. I was able to login to itunes on her imac login and i was able to set up iCloud. it works! - but now my calendar, contacts, photos, etc are on her profile login of the iMac! HELP me PLEASE!!
Your Apple ID should not be causing problems with your browser. If you describe the problems you are having we might be able to help with those.

If you don't have APEX 4.0 or can't move to "TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE", you could try to build that yourself. There's a [url http://www.onlineaspect.com/2007/06/08/auto-detect-a-time-zone-with-javascript]nice example on how to determine the clients timezone in Javascript, which you could use to populate a hidden item on your login page, which you could store in an application item afterwards.
