Just Got New Shuffle... Wont connect to computer
So i finally got the new Ipod Shuffle! but.. it wont work!!!
i downloaded the new iTunes 7 and now i was read to plug in the USB cord.. when i plug it in, nothing happens.. not even error boxes or anything.. its just as if i didnt even plug it in... can anyone help me please?
At first i thought i needed to charge it but wont a light flash if its charging? nothing happening.
PLEASE HELP ME...

Ok, I've been trying to get help with the same thing for about a week now. I've tried every troubleshooting thing I can find, but to no avail. I finally broke down and went to an Apple Store. (A very dangerous place) to be sure!
Anyway, at the Genius counter we discovered that the base was defective. The metal plug, that goes into the headphone jack, tip had been either mis formed, or busted off.
You should compare your base with your headphones, see if the metal plug is the same length.

i have had my ipod shuffle for only 3 months. i have updated it to the latest ipod software, and have the latest version of itunes. when i try to upload new songs onto my shuffle, the shuffle doesnt stay connected long enough for the songs to start uploading. the shuffle continuously connects and disconnects itself, even though the whole time it is connected to the computer. i have also restored it to factory settings. plz help!

My ipod shuffle charges via the computer and my computer is not recognizing the ipod and neither is itunes. I have treid all your 5 steps and its still not working, i cannot "RESET" it because my ipod isnt being recognised at all!!
Help please.They're not -my- five steps. They are, however, a useful start to troubleshooting iPod issues. Unfortunately, since Resetting iPod shuffle doesn't require the use of a computer, or require that the shuffle be recognized by your computer, I really don't know what you've done so far.
Here are some other things to try. iPod missing from My Computer A number of the things in this list won't be applicable to the shuffle, of course.

i just got new iphone 4 but it tells me to restore the phone wen i plug in my computer.. then half way thru the restoring on the "firmwear" part it stops an says error "9?? wats the go there?? its driving me insane...
Let's first define what "new" means. Was it purchased from Apple or your authorized carrier, and it came in a shrink wrapped box? Or is it only new to you, and you don't know its history?
Assuming it truly is a new, never used phone, Error 9 means that the USB connection to the phone is intermittent. Do the following:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (10.4) - if not, download and install it from htp://www.apple.com/itunes
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall software
Disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse
Connect the cable to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub; do not connect the other end to the phone yet (If your computer is a desktop or tower and has ports on both front and back us a port on the back)
Launch iTunes
Connect the phone to the other end of the cable
If the phone is recognized in iTunes proceed with the Restore
If the phone is NOT recognized by iTunes:
Disconnect the cable from the phone (leave connected to the computer)
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen goes blank, then IMMEDIATELY release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button
Connect the cable to the phone while holding the HOME button
Wait for iTunes to recognize the phone, then release the HOME button (this may take several minutes of holding)
If you still have a problem after these steps take the phone to Apple for exchange. -
I just got my apple ID on my computer, but it had someone else's ID before, it wont let me download songs I've already purchased. Even if i wanted to it wouldnt let me purchase those idems again.. what do I do?
Delete and redownload the ones that don't work if doing so is free in your country.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore. -

- Exactly what are you doing? You saying you are trying to syn it to new comnputer. When yuo sync it to a new computer iTunes will erase the iPod and replace its contents with what is i the iTunes library of the new computer.

Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library. Note that once done you cannot "share" apps under a single Apple ID. Each of you must purchase your own apps under your own Apple ID. When you decide to split up like this one of you will need to re-purchase the apps that they want to use.
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data. Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.

Just got new air and trying to set up. When I put in my Apple ID and password it comes up with error message 'can't sign in because of server error. Try again signing on.' Trying again does not fix. I know my ID and PW are right as work on other apple devices I have.

I just got new ipad mini....I want to delete all of the music that was synced from my itunes account. I have went through and deleted some songs one by one but some have a cloud icon with a red arrow on them.....is there a simple way just to delete them?
Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

Just got new iPad mini and I can only get 140 pictutes in My Photo Stream while in my other devices I have 1000 photos in My Photo Stream. How do I sync to have all photos in My Photo Stream on this new iPad mini?

I see different photos in My Photo Stream on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they are older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so all devices may not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream.
You may want to sync the older photos through iTunes to get them on your new iPad mini.
