Lion won't even start to download; How big is the download?

First: I tried to download Lion from the Applestore (the big round button with a lion in it). For about 0.5 sec. I got "Loading ..." then :

At a download speed of 6 Mbps, that will take me 4986.67 sec. = 83.1 min. That's OK.

It is absolutely not half the size. It's the same resolution as the iPad 2 with a screen size of 7.9 inches across the diagonal versus the 9.7 inches of the bigger iPad.

Just how bad is the HD screen on the T530

Hey everyone. I'm buying a laptop for my father whose main criteria are:
Overall build quality
(backlit) Keyboard and trackpad quality
At least 15" screen
Upgradeability
International warranty and customer service
Whilst it is overkill for what he wants to do, AFAICS the T530 is the only thinkpad that fits the bill.
The only problem is his eyesight isn't what it used to be and he needs eye-glasses to read the screen on his current laptop which has a 15" 1366x768 display. Hence, a higher resolution screen is out of the question (I understand there is dpi scaling but it is never implemented perfectly across all apps).
I see people warning against the HD display all the time, so I'd like to know just how bad is the contrast, colour reproduction etc?

I understand where you're coming from however I don't mean travel like how a businessman travels. My father just spends a lot of time abroad and an external monitor will not be practical. I'm surprised no-one seems to have any experience with the HD screen. Thank you for your suggestions though.

How to change the universe at the Webi report

In BO 3.1 , I can select a new universe. useing the button to the right of the Universe field of Query Properties at the query panel .
But at the BO4.0 , I can not find the button at the same place . How can I change the report's universe to new one ??
Anybody can answear me ? Thanks !!!

When you go to the Query Panel in Design Mode:
Click on the tab 'Data Access'
Click on the tab 'Tools'
click on 'change data source'
If you have multiple Queries than you can select which query you want to change the datasource.

Curious....just how popular is the Mic

Some observations and a question:
I bought my Micro last November and it has been in steady use for months now without a headphone jack problem or any serious reset/jam/stuck issues. Maybe I've been lucky or maybe the problems that are frequently reported here are related to a small bad manufacturing batch (similar to the iPod Nano) and user errors or corrupt files. Or maybe its a combination of all of these.
I've also noticed the way the Micro is sold in electronics stores. I frequent Best Buy and Comp USA because they are nearby and close to one another. Both usually have a solitary Micro, usually sitting askew in its security stand, frequenlty inoperable, next to 5 or 6 various iPods and one or two even older Creative products. We are told that Apple has 75 percent of the market so I understand the space devoted to iPods, but would it hurt Creative to offer retailers some incenti'ves or in store displays?
I see here on the board that a so-called "second edition" Micro is out, which says to me that Creative is still pleased enough with the product to have invested in this effort. I wonder though, has anyone seen any estimates anywhere on the net just how many Micro's Creative has sold?

I would guess that the micro is far and away Creative's biggest DMP seller, helped in large part by its advertising campaign last Christmas - no other Creative player has gotten that kind of advertising. Also, the steady stream of firmware updates for the Micro, whil other models have been ignored, indicates that the Micro is Creative's most important player. I would guess that many Micro owners out there have never even heard of the Touch or the Xtra.

BOXI3.0: How to start the Universe Designer

Greetings to all. I am Alias.
I am one of the BOXI3.0 universe designer in my organization and actually I am new for it.
In my team System Development, we seperated into 2 groups which is 1-System Development and 2-ERP & B.I Support. I am in ERP & B.I Support.
System Development group develop our own In-House System using foxpro, VB6, VB.net, Java and the database is SQL.
For ERP & B.I group, we shall create the universe once the system is completed.
I really need your guys expertise to give me an opinion and suggestion how should I start to develop a universe by referring to the System Development group. What should I need to make a good universe?

How to change the universe in Web I

Hi,
I need help, I have created several reports already and I used the old universe in my Web I report. The universe was changed to a new name.
My objective is to minimize effort of creating a new query and drag again the objects.

Not for XI-3.x for all versions it is there.
Just goto Query Panel--> You can see "..." next to universe name (Older versions)
--> Properties --> "..." next to universe name(Latest)
Just click on "..." button and point new universe, make sure that previous and latest must be have same structure.

How big is the Master Collection download

I need to know how big the download is going to be for the Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection for Mac. I have a mobile internet connection with a download limit and I need to know if I can download the product inside this limit or if I'm going to get charged crazy rates for going over.

The download file size for Master Collection CS5.5 (Mac) is about 6.14 GB.
It is not advisable to use a prepaid or pay as you go Internet connection to download the file if it exceeds the download limit.

How to get the universe metadata information (class , tables...) through JSP coding ?

I am new to BO. I am developing tool which will extract the metadat information of report and universe using JSP (java ) in BO XI R2 . My problem is how to get universe metadata ? i listed the universe name by quering the CI_APPOBJECTS table. i couldn't get other information (Class and objects in the universe ).. I need the advice or idea or code to complete work... Please help to resolve my problem..

There's three ways to get the Universe Class/Object info:
1. Use the Universe Designer SDK. This is COM-based, so you'd write VBScript, VBA or VB6 code.
2. Use the ReportEngine Java (REBean) API. Programmatically create a Web Intelligence document, specify the Universe as DataProvider, then get the DataSource, which holds the Classes/Objects hierarchy.
3. Use the QueryService Service in the BusinessObjects Web Service (via Java or .NET Consumer API) to do something similar to 2.

Our scenario is this:
Push all the universal workitem to BEA portal by calling a web service in BPM?
Can we call web service and retrieve the workitems in BPM?
Or can we do that in relavant user interface--webdynpro,for as far as I know,we can retrieve items from uwl in webdynpro?

Regarding your qustion on calling SAP Busines Workflow from BPM and vice versa, I think directly it is not possible to give a call. You can invoke outside functionality only if you can expose it as a Web Service which can be used as an automated activity or in a Human Task with custom code.

How big for the temporary tablespace is proper?

I get the error several times per month:
ORA-1652: unable to extend temp segment by 256 in tablespace temp
The size of this temporary tablespace is 1G. Of couse I can inrease to 2G or 10G.
questions:
How to determine the new size for this tablespace properly?
what factors will be considered for it?

I think more than one 1GB for a 6GB is acceptable. I agree the temp size is not determied by database size, but satistically it should be in a range compared with database size, right?
Well, what I did in this situation is to create a scheduled job, get information from v$sort_usage and kepp it in a table. This job run in every 5 mins. I let it run a couple of days, then I can know which SQL consumes too much temp space. After that, I tune this SQL to resolve the issue. Hopefully it would be help to you.

How to configure the Universal Worklist

I have a requirement wherein I have to fetch the SAP mail notifications in the Portal. I have got one documentation in which it is mentioned step by step how to configure the same.
I found that the prerequisites for going ahead .They are
1) Enterprise Portal Plug-In 6.0 installed (WP-PI 6.0)
2) Release 3.H or higher
3) Internet Transaction Server
I have configured the ITS and have successfully done the connection test.
I am also satisfying the third point.
As of now we dont have the Portal plug-In 6.0 installed. Can anyone throw some light like if we really require this plug-in to be installed or do we have some other approach.
I have also created the iview and have assigned to the standard role. But still I am not receiving any SAP notifications in my standard UWL iview.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot have the mails that are displayed in the Workflow Inbox (SBWP) (Maybe someone has a solution for this) within the SAP GUI, display in the UWL. For this I guess you will have to use the alert framework to generate alerts which is sent to the UWL.
