I create printable educational products for teachers and homeschoolers. I need to be able to make some printable PDFs that have cards set to a specific dimension, say 3" x 3". When I create PDFs in InDesign and print them, the printer tends to shrink the PDF down. This happens even when I set the Page Scaling to None. But regardless of what my printer does, I would like to be able to create PDFs that print at actual size for anyone who purchases my products. How can this be done? Can I change the settings when I create the PDF? Do I need to includes special instructions with my products? Thanks so much for your help.

You can specify the printing process in the PDF for Acrobat and Reader, open the PDF in Acrobat > file properties (right mouse click on the page) and in the extended tab (the most right tab) you can set printing not to scale for that PDF as default setting.

Please download these. The first file listed above was created by saving a copy after opening the file while it was attached to the email. It is not searchable. If I saved the file from the email I could not open it. The December newsletter is searchable as is the annula report. The email exchange provides more details of my problems with the files.

If you're trying to reduce the file size of a PDF file, you'll need Adobe Acrobat. With either Acrobat Standard or Pro, you can choose File > Save as Other > Reduced Size PDF. With Acrobat Pro, you have the option of using PDF Optmizer, which offers many settings for helping to reduce the size of a PDF file.

How Do I Add A PDF That Can Be Filled Out And Submitted To My Email

I just finished converting an application to PDF using the forms wizard. This works really well as it makes it so they can only fill in the required information and not alter any of the other form. Right now I just have it posted as a downloadable file that they can save fill out and email back in. However what I'm wanting to do is have it where they can just open the PDF in another tab, fill it out and hit submit and have that automatically sent to my email account. What I've done is use:

This in essence will open the application in another tab of the browser where they can fill everything out. However thus far their only option is either a "Print" or "Save" button. I'd like to add a "Submit" button somehow to where it's emailed to an account I've set up, or have it save to a file on the server. I don't know if this is something I have to code into the site, or If I can make a button on the PDF itself, or there's an option to make the PDF display a "Submit" button, just need a little help. I hope this hasn't been asked before, but I really need to figure out how to do this. We take forms in Word, convert them using the wizard, and then the only way I can figure how to make them fill in able and then saveable is to distribute through email. This won't work for me, I need to put them on a website so they don't rely on me to get the forms.
Any help is appreciated. Here is a link to a state work site here in washington that has exactly what I need. if that help to clarify what I'm talking about.

I have recently gone through this same experience.
The first thing is to set the security.
Go to Advanced/Security/2 Encrypt with password. On this page go to Permissions and click on Restrict editing.
You will need to add a password, choose the printing allowed, and changes allowed - this is where you allow the form
to be filled out.
When you have finished these steps, click ok.
Then from the Advaned menu choose "Extend Features in Adobe Reader". You will see what access the user has to the form.
Your form should be ready to email or add to a website as a pdf form.

How to create interactive PDF that can be submitted through website?

I have created an interactive PDF with a submit button at the bottom that will send to my email when clicked. However, when I uploaded the form to my website to test it, the form didn't do anything once I clicked the 'submit' form.
So my question is: What do I need to do to allow the form to submit from my website? I am using Acrobat 9 Pro and Dreamweaver Cs5 if it makes a difference.

Chrome has its own PDF viewer plugin that is quite buggy when it comes to PDF forms (as do Firefox and Safari, by the way).
So yes, the best solution is to download the file and then open it locally using Adobe Reader. However, you can't enforce that. It's up to the user and their browser settings. You can only recommend it to them.

Make sure that the backup file with the bookmarks has the correct file extension: .html for a HTML backup and .json for a JSON backup.<br />
You can check that via the right-click context menu of that file and open the Properties.<br />
If you are not sure about the file type then you can open the file in Firefox via "File > Open File"<br />
A JSON backup will show as one long text line without line breaks and a HTML backup as a web page with clickable links.

Welcome to the forum.
As Stanley points out, it appears that you are doing two things: PiP to start, and then animating via Keyframes for the fixed Effects>Motion>Scale, and probably Motion>Position. The "revealing" of the logo can be done by Keyframing various Effects, such as the fixed Effect>Opacity, or perhaps Keyframing an added Effect, such as Blur/Gaussian Blur.
Reading on both "Picture in Picture," and then "Keyframes" will be a great starting point. The concept of Keyframes is a bit abstract at first, but once you get that concept, you will find it so very useful for many things, so the study time will pay big dividends. Most Effects can be Keyframed directly, and a few more, indirectly. Various different Effects can be Keyframed separately, so that many things can happen over time, in a coordinated "dance." The uses and applications are virtually limitless, and provide so much power, plus aesthetic choices.
Good luck, and I would start with Stanley's links, and do as much reading, and exprimenting, as is possible. One great resource is the Adobe Classroom in a Book Premiere CS5, Adobe Press. The author covers Keyframing Effects in great detail, plus PiP. Remember, once you understand Keyframes, you will use them constantly, even for adjusting Audio Volume over time.

I need someone that is very good with computers and thinks they can help me

im having alot of trouble with my i touch.. i have an xp computer UBS 2.. my itunes works.. the first time i opened my i touch it was completly dead. i charged it until it was completly charged,and now there is a screen that has a picture of the connecting cord, and the itunes logo. i cant go to the homepage, i cant play music, i cant do anything. I cant go to any screen . The only other screen that ive been to is the screen that says Slide to power off... ive reset it a few times, and now i dont know what to do.. please please please help

First make sure you have the most recent iTunes software. It's currently at 7.5. You can find your version by selecting "About iTunes" from the "Help" menu. If you have an older version of iTunes then go to http://www.apple.com/itunes and get the latest.
Then start iTunes. You shouldn't need for it to be running in order to sync, but go ahead and start it first just to eliminate one potential source of problems. (Note that you can configure iTunes to not automatically start when you plug in an iPod, so maybe that accenditally got turned on somehow).
Then plug in your iPod to the computer. Listen for the Windows audio feedback that let's you know a device has been connected (of course you need to have your computer's speakers un-muted for that:-) If you don't hear anything, then for some reason the computer isn't recognizing the iPod at all. Another way to see if Windows sees the iPod (different from listening for it), is to double-click "My Computer" to get an Explorer window. Then when you plug in the iPod you should see something for it show up (it shows "Mobile Device" on my XP laptop). If this isn't working for you then maybe try a different USB port, different computer, or different cable.
If the computer recognizes the iPod, you should soon seen iTunes add an entry for the iPod in the left bar under "DEVICES". If that doesn't happen, then, umm, I'm not sure what would cause that.
If you get the iPod to appear in itunes, then select it (just click the entry under "DEVICES". I don't remember exactly what happens next, but it should be something about registering your iPod. That will not only register it, but also activate it and install the latest firmware on your iPod.
I hope that helps. If it doesn't, then it would help if you post back here telling what part of this process fails for you, so that people can help you troubleshoot the problem.
