I'm having trouble upgrading the domain which is created in a prior release of weblogic to 10.3.2.
I tried to start the server and it prompted me with the option of upgrading. But somehow failed to do the upgrade.
Here is the detailed log...:

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterpretable Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

One step listed in the link to "helpful" info, was (when Iooked 30 seconds ago), to search for and download the newest version of iTunes. I'm running iTunes on Win 7 machine and was prompted to update today, 10.22.2014, and did so without a problem. Having said that, however, it looks as though the latest iTunes (12.0.1.26) is finally doing what the last version refused to do, which is to actually fully populate all my playlists on my 6, but there is a hitch: 12.0.1.26 will NOT allow you to show the sidebar unless you click on "playlists," that is, you cannot keep it open all the time.
And, when plugging the 6 into the computer, the phone icon shows up but clicking on it does nada. What does work, for some strange reason, is clicking on the tiny icon (just under the "Store" menu link at top screen) which looks much like a tiny barrel, someone's idea of external drives, I suppose. The phone then comes up, with the list of stuff on the phone just under it where the sidebar used to be. Sync is now restricted to the lower right of the screen.
Apparently, you will also need to update your iPhone's software as well; some friends with the 4 and 4s, however, had troubles with them after upgrading. The message from Silicon Valley (I can see Apple from my backyard, ha ha) is apparently, "keep upgrading," folks, get rid of those old phones.

Having trouble upgrading from Tiger 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard 10.6.3.

I'm having a problem upgrading my operating system to SL 10.6.3. When I insert the install disc my iMac just rejects the disc without mounting it. My hard drive is not cluttered with applications because I mainly just surf the web. The several times I was able to get the install disc to mount, when I try to install the disc just ejects. I'm having the same problem with the Tiger 10.4 install disc when I try to restart in 10.4 so I can run disc utilities disc repair it ejects even holding down the c key. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. jwgpp

Since downloading and installing Lion, have been having trouble with internet connection. Are there settings that I need to adjust?

Just installed Lion 10.7 ... having problems opening Safari and connectivity. Have to reset modem, restart computer, etc. It will be stable for awhile, then next time I log on, have to go through same things. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

Also, I have already done the 10.7.1 update...come to think of it, the problem seems to have started after the update. Any thoughts?

Yu have to run the library upgrader - it is in your applications folder in the utilities folder - double click on it to exceute it - then launch iPhoto after running the library upgrader

Jonathan, I haven't used my Kindle app in some time, so things have certainly changed. When I go out to Amazon and click register devices, it seems to only offer information about Android? Since I have an account on Amazon, I'll have to purchase something new and see if it appears on my iPad Kindle account. The Kindle App on my iPad clearly shows it's registered to me. I'm guessing this happened when Apple started taking a percentage of sales on purchases made on the iPad. For example, I love Zinio for magazine subscriptions. Once the change took place, I know have to input my Apple ID to buy a magazine on the Zinio App.

Did you power off both your modem/router and the Time Capsule, wait a minute, start the modem/router first and let it run a few minutes, then start the Time Capsule?

Just installed iWork 08 on my new Macbook Air (Mavericks) - writing 'invisibly' in Pages

Hi All
I've just installed iWork08 but when I try and type something in Pages, it's as though I've written it in invisible ink. I have to highlight the whole page to see what I've just written (it comes up as a mauve colour).
Does anyone have any ideas how i can correct this. I'm a teacher and I have 5 years worth of Pages documents I need to keep accessing and working with. A friend had major compatibility problems with the new iWork app and working with old documents, so I'm trying to avoid that and would be happy to just keep working with my old version of Pages if I could read what I've written.
Probably a simple solution, I just don't know what it is.

The OS itself is free, although that doesn't mean there's no cost to upgrade. You sound like you've put in the research and have backups - I'd be inclined to clone your working 10.7 system to an external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper so you can quickly recover in case 10.10 doesn't do what you need. You can't recover quickly from Time Machine.

Having trouble upgrading to Leopard......

First off, sorry if this seems like a stupid or obvious question.
I'm currently running Panther and am trying to upgrade to Leopard but after I insert the CD and restart it goes to a dark gray screen and then I get that spinning pin wheel and it just stays like that. I did read where it takes around 15-30 minutes to get to the install screen but the last time I did it I let it sit for over an hour before I quit.
Can somebody help me out? Thanks.

Try resetting your PRAM.

Also try booting holding the C key after you reset the PRAM instead of having the instal disc do the restart. If you get to the instal screen, run the Disc Utility and repair permissions.

Having trouble upgrading to new version of firefox

I have the setup wizard to upgrade to the newest version on my desktop background. When I hit "next" it says to close Firefox in order to proceed. when I hit "OK" it just brings me to connection wizard box again and same t hing happens. I had orig saved the file and opened it from my documents, to get the connection wizard, if that matters. How can I get my version set up, when this issue happens? thank you.

You probably need to do an installer file clean up for Apple Software Update with the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
Here is a method for removal and clean up of iTunes and related programs. You might get away with just doing the Apple Software Update part rather than the whole thing. I would try just removing and cleaning ASU first.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup

*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.

Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.
