Just installed 4.0b12 and it said it imported by favs from IE but it did not. why?
I have 270 favorites in 25 different multi-tiered folders in IE. I just installed the latest firefox 4.0b12 and in the install process it said that it successfully imported all of my history and my bookmarks from IE but my bookmarks did not get imported
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Update the iPhone 4s to iOS 7.1.1 and then Restore from your iCloud Backup. -
My Itunes account was hacked and my Apple ID was disabled. I followed the instructions from APPLE to backup and restore from Itunes but that did not work. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
Are you saying that you contacted Apple support and they instructed you to backup and restore your iPad? Or do you mean that you picked up this information from an online support article? If you spoke to an Apple rep or received these instructions via email, contact them again for further help.
I fail to see how restoring your iPad would enable yoyr Apple ID. -
Can someone please tell me what to do if I was downloading a digital copy of a dvd from and website and my computer turned off in the middle...now it tells me the code has already been used but it did not download, ugh.
ThanksYou may need to put the iPad into recovery mode for it to be recognised by your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it.

Hi - I have discovered that some songs have disappeared from my itunes library and Ipod. I have found some of them in trash even though I did not trash them, as they are some of my all time favourite songs. I have now restored these trashed songs to my library/ipod.
However I cannot find some other missing songs in trash - so I have no idea where they could be! It makes me feel very insecure about itunes as a whole. I would prefer music to diamionds - and it disturbs me when music just disappears like that! An explanation/solution would be gratefully received. I wonder whether I can ask Apple to pay for the items that have gone for good!Andrea,
have you tried to update the Ipod? If not try that, but do not restore it. If you still cannot find the songs, there is - I suppose you are using windows - a nifty little program available from Findley Designs (www.findleydesigns.com) that allows you to transfer Music from your Ipod to your PC. Download it and see if it works with one song, if it does it is about USD 14 to buy and helps if you want to transfer songs from your Ipod to your computer. If you have transferred the music to your computer you can restore your Ipod-

Installed Pro 9 and Reader 9 now cannot open pdf from web, but can from an email?
Installed Both Adobe Acrobat 9 professional and reader 9 yesterday on co worker machine. Went to open a pdf attachement in email no problem. Went to web to download and open a pdf and will not let her, giving co worker the error message need reader 8 or 9 to open this document!
have unistalled 9 reader and reinstalled same problem.
So then uninstalled reader 9 and can now open pdf from the web
My machine has both on and no problems.
Thank YOU for your help!!It may be that you will need to uninstall Reader and Repair Acrobat after the uninstall. Adobe does not recommend the installation of both products. Since you have already done the uninstall and things work fine with just Acrobat, leave things alone as that is the recommended installation.

Hoping someone can help with setting up my new time capsule. I am just switching from my extreme to the time capsule. I can not get the time capsule to go anywhere but to amber blinkiing. I can go back to the extreme and interenet works fine.
Here is what I did:
plugged in the ethernet cable from the cable modem
plugged in the time capsule power
Just cycles to amber blinking -- no internet connection
Tried pulling up the airport utility but it just shows my old extreme configuration and says that it is not supported anymore. Do not see how to display info on the flashing light.
I have gone back to the extreme three times and it seems to work fine.
I also repowered the modem in between trying to get the time capsule to workIs this a cable modem? It has to be off for at least 20min and sometimes much longer before it will give up the old settings. You might even need to power down the cable modem overnight.
Tell us exactly what broadband you have with what ISP and exact model of modem..
The new TC cannot be setup without using the latest airport utility 6.3.1 or 6.3.2 and you need Lion - Mavericks to use it.
The computer also needs to have ipv6 setup to local link on whatever you are connecting with, wireless or ethernet. -

If the http://getfirefox.com website doesn't have a big green "Download" button for you, then you can download Firefox from FTP. See http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0/

I just installed this update and now I cannot access "Mail" at all. I tried reinstalling the program, but that does not work, either. Help!
Paldeng, thanks for the suggestion. I've done all that. I can connect to the server, but apparently they are not recognizing my ID and password. I can use the server program if I don't go through Mail (using the same ID and password). My mother in another state with another provider has had the same email issue, as also my husband on his laptop who uses the same internet connection I do. His worked fine until we had it repaired at the Apple store and all the original programs reloaded (with the required updates, I assume). We can receive email in Mail, we just cannot send.
I contacted my service provider, and we went over my connections. They said it was not their problem and connected me with Apple, resulting in a charge to me because my warranty is long expired. Apple swears it is not their problem, it is the provider, so here I sit. My son was able to fix my Mom's Mail (she's 97) and got my husband's working also, until mine went out, by tweaking connection descriptions and ports remotely. The thing is, we had not messed with any of those settings, so what changed? I just did not want to bother my son again, as he has many other demands on his time.
Since this fiasco with the Mail v4.6 update, I'm wondering if something else was updated that works well with Lion and Mountain Lion, but does not work well with Snow Leopard and Leopard. I think the problem I had with the Mail update was that my Mail program had been renamed to Mail (original), and therefore was not being recognized by the update. Perhaps they had another tweak in there somewhere that is affecting outgoing mail connections? -

I just updated my iTunes to the new software. When I plugged it into my computer and it said I need to reset my iPod. I did this and everything on my iPod deleted. Now, it won't let me sync my music or apps back onto my iPod. What do I do?
It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.
