Just installed Safari 2.0.1 and .Mac won't open

Installed Safari 2.0.1 yesterday and get the following message when I try to go to .Mac:
Application: Welcome
Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException exception
Reason:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: An Exception occurred while generating the Exception page 'WOExceptionPage'. This is most likely due to an error in 'WOExceptionPage' itself or WebObjects encountered an uncaught exception while creating a Session object.
Any suggestions?

  • Just installed Safari for first time and it won't open

Instead of opening, a small portion of the Safari toolbar displays, and almost immediately Microsoft wants permission to phone home and report the problem with a note that says: Safari Web Browser has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Restarting, and repairing has not helped, nor has reinstalling.

  • I just installed OS 10.9.2 and now I cannot open Endnote X4

I just installed OS 10.9.2 and now I cannot open Endnote X4

My colleagues and I have a similar type issue after upgrading from 10.9.1 to 10.9.2.
We all use mid-2011 Macbook Pro's and also use a sapphiretech Vid-2x displayport to dual DVI adapter.  This adapter essentially bonds two additional external displays into one large monitor.  i.e. two 24-inch displays now become "one" supporting 3840x1080 resolution.  The only caveat to using this adapter is that both monitors need to be of the same model.  There are no drivers needed to use this hardware adapter.
We don't have displayports per se, rather we use the thunderbolt port.  The Vid-2x adapters have worked fine for us from 10.7 - 10.9.1.
Since some of us upgraded to 10.9.2 we've all experienced the same issue in that the Mac no longer recognizes the Vid-2x as being capable of the proper 3840x1080 resolution we require.  The best we can get is 3200x1200.  Another interesting note is that there are at least three different model pairs of monitors being used by us (Samsung, Asus, Dell).

  • I just installed Yosemite. iPhoto is gone, and Photos does not open.  Instead, I am prompted to update to the latest version. The App Store tells me that is not available in the US.  What do I do?  Cannot access any photos.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I'm using OS Extended 10.9.5.  I don't know what the original version of iPhoto was.

Have you run the iPhoto Library Upgrader? You need to direct it to the location of your old iPhoto Library by clicking the "Choose Library" button in the lower right corner of the panel you are seeing when the upgrade starts.

  • Just installed a new officejet 5745 and it won't print from my PC

I just got and installed the 5745 officejet and it won't print a doc i have on my pc, it doesn't even show anything in the print queue. When i use the scan dr, it shows that all is ok with my product and ask if i want to print a test page. I select test print and it does not print. I then click on no print and it goes to recommend printing an internal test page, which it does print. I'm confused as heck now.

Hello,  Please try the below mentioned steps that should resolve the issue. Uninstall the Printer SoftwareRename the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL to HPBXPSRENDER.OLD,       (located in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 for 64 bit,                                                           and C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3  for 32 bit)Reinstall the Printer Software

I just installed the most recent iTunes on my new Windows 8 computer and when it tries to open, it just crashes saying "iTunes has stopped working".  Does anyone have any ideas?

I searched the site further and found some other posts.  iTunes starts fine in safe mode.  I did the steps in

    The plug-in folders are empty.

Seems that you have to update Logic to the latest version (9.0.15) to get it to work in Lion.

  • Itunes installed, wouldn't restart properly, and now won't open at all.

I updated ITunes today (I have Vista) and it seemed to download fine.  When I restarted my computer to finish the install, my computer would not reboot.  I had to sut-it down manually.  I had to go back-up and restore my computer to get it to boot up.  Not ITunes will not open.  Do I need to reinstall it, and if so, will I lose my content if I do.
    Thanks!

I started to have issues with itunes when itunes 7.3 came out. Now that I have itunes 7.5, I can not even open it up. It seems that when I click on it, the itunes icon changes for a few seconds to an unrecognized program. I don't know what to do. Any advice?

  • I just updated to the new iTunes and it won't open.

When it does, it takes forever and then crashes when I connect my iPhone 4s. I realised I had this problem ever since updating to the latest version?

Sounds like it is more an issue with your computer than itunes as it happened with the previous version as well.
What computer are you using Windows or a mac?
For windows I found this the solution is apparently to hit the esc key
    http://it.thelibrarie.com/weblog/2010/06/drag-and-drop-stops-working/
    For a mac
Sleep/wake wasnt working for me so I pressed <Command> + <Alt> + <esc> to launchforce quit and from there i relaunched finder, and it worked for me..........

  • Just installing a few updates from the Mac App Store for mountain lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro, during this it made a noise and then the screen and keyboard went off, like it is off. What happened, is it off...or should I just wait it out?

    What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.

Of course. If you are using Safari for Mac, open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences, and change the search engine.
If you are using Safari for Windows, open Safari, go to File or Edit menu > Preferences > General, and change the search engine
