Just installed Windows 7 + Firefox 7 when trying to play 'Discover Windows 7' first Silverlight plugin msg then Plugin Container has stopped working came up..although Firefox will play videos on You Tube..any ideas?
I've tried checking Silverlight plugin in 'Add-ons' seems to be fine but will not work in Firefox
In order to find out about the problem I have restarted another fresh install but inside a VM this time so I can take notes and snapshots.
I found that the following official package will break my Gnome 3.6 pretty easily:
- pygtksourceview2 : this one instantly crashes Gnome and you are no longer able to log in.
- pycups and pysmbc : doesn't crash immediately but after 10s you get the oops.
Let's remove them from the real install to see if it fixes the problem.
[EDIT] Tried again to install the above three package inside a fresh Gnome install living into a VM and it didn't crash. See post above regarding my broken Gnome which was related to fingerprint-gui package from AUR.

I had the same type of failure. It was caused by a FF upgrade from V4 to V9.1. Dearing 1955 did not say what version caused the problem. My USB ports started acting up. I could not install the Webcam that was installed before. The HP Scanner of my OJ 8500 stopped working (USB). Did get it to work via Wireless. Removing FF did not clear the problem. Believe I have infected USB driver now.

And Why is there not any answer to how to fix it that an Ordinary Person can do, without a MS degree in computer science?
I had this problem in Firefox 3.6.8 and then just downloaded version 3.6.12, the latest one, but it still happens constantly:
Hundreds of people posted in June 2010 and now the help section says: "This Question is Closed" message is at the bottom,
But there is NO SOLUTION!This file seems to offer as many issues as problems it's supposed to solve.
Fix your problem in 20 seconds, 15 if you copy and paste the 2 strings below:
- Open a new tab in Firefox
- Type "about:config" in the Address Bar (without the quotes)
- Click "I'll be careful, I promise!"
- Type "dom.ipc" in the Filter field on top of the page
- 6 lines of parameters should appear, ignore the first and the last ones
- Double-click on the 4 lines in the middle to change their value to "False"
- Close the tab, close Firefox, restart Firefox -

webplayer_win.dll_unloaded
You can clear the cache and see if this helps prevent future crashes, but that might not be the only cause.
Other things to consider:
* Your plugins and extensions are not update: Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700 - needs to be 14
* Update all your media extensions and plugins, this will help the performance. also look at hardware acceleration after updating your graphics card and extensions [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
Once this is done, please try to access the game a gain and report back! It could help other users, thank you! -

I cannot get Firefox to stop crashing. I really don't want to switch to Chrome but it seems stable.
Things I've tried:
1. Uninstalling Firefox, erasing all App data. Downloading a fresh copy and installing it again.
2. Updating Adobe Flash.
3. Restarting Firefox with Add-ons disabled. (It still crashes)
Firefox still crashes.

Hi my iPod touch gen 4 has stopped working properly and App Store will not load but Internet will, also you tube also won't load. Any ideas? Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

when ipod starts up, shows usb cable to connect to itunes then asks for my lock password but cannot get into ipod to put in password. any ideas?

Itunes/quicktime crashes when trying to play video podcasts and 3GP files

I've searched these forums and didn't see anything that might help me, so if know of any solutions posted already, please let me know. I have an HP laptop(AMD Turion 64 X2 2.0 GB processor, 2 GB or RAM) running Windows Vista Home Premium. I used to be able to play 3GP files at one time with Quicktime, but now I cannot. Then, the other day I tried to play a video podcast and it starts to play, then says, "Itunes has stopped working". Quicktime does the same thing with 3GP files. This was before my update to Itunes 8.0. It happpened with Itunes 7.5.11.1 or whatever the last version was. It obviously does the same thing with Itunes 8. I've tried completely uninstalling Itunes and quicktime, then reinstalling them both and I still have the same problem. Just a note: I tried playing the video podcast via Windows Media Playey, and it worked fine, except for no audio(I don't think WMP has AAC support) so I think something is conflicting between Itunes and my computer. How are you trying to play them, in the iTunes store or the Music and Videos apps ? Downloaded and synced music and videos should be in the Music and Videos apps, and you can stop content that is only in the cloud from showing in them via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music and Videos 'off' (under the 'show all' heading).
If you don't have your music and films/TV shows in those two apps then you should be able to download them into those apps via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app. -

Provide you have Acrobat 9 installed in an OS for which Acrobat 9 is compatible then you can use the functionality.
As well, you need a scanner connected, powered up, and the software installed. Acrobat 9 "prefers" TWAIN drivers.
Always visit the scanner vendor's site and download - install the latest greatest software.
n.b., The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into "End of Support" mid-year 2013.
As well the Acrobat 9.x product family is not compatible with contemporary OSs.
