How much free storage space is available on your iPod Touch?
When restoring your iPod Touch with iTunes, did you restore from the backup for the iPod Touch or as a new iPod Touch?
If the former and the problem lies with the data included with the backup, restoring from the backup will also restore the problem putting you right back where you started.

After updating my itunes and ipod touch software the ipod restore froze. I've tried to repeat the restore process several times, even leaving it overnight to restore but it appears to freeze at the same stage everytime (and that is only 1 minute into the restore process). Any ideas???

  • IPod touch 4g keeps freezing while typing

(iPod touch 4th gen, three weeks old). Seriously I'm getting so angry, it freezes whenever I try to type, or to type a simple 2/3 lined message will take MINUTES. It's like my keyboard can't think fast enough. It's not just iMessage it's anything involving typing. (internet, facebook, twitter, whatever). Yes I've restarted it many times. One time recently it went all crazy and tried to restart several times, randomly restarting and struggling to turn back on while I just let it sit there. Then it froze on my lock screen (couldn't even go dark) and wouldn't play music, even though the play button was pressed.
I know all about shutting background apps and I've tried turning iMessage off and on again, deleting my inbox, checking too make sure my iPod has enough memory left and isn't overloaded (7.2 GB available and 6.5 being used) and my software is up-to-date with the iOS 6.1.3
PLEASE help me, I am so frustrated!
Also, I've done a lot of searching before asking a question, so I'll be slightly ****** if it's just that llaass guy telling me to restore it

  • IPod Touch 4G keeps freezing up!

So I've been using my iPod Touch 4G (64GB) for 1 years or something like that. It vwas working pretty neat until yesterday. It just kept freezing at every moment and I had to reboot it over over again using the Home and the Power button. After rebooting, it works fine for like 1 minute or so, but after then, both the home and sleep buttons become unresponsive and it freezes without no reason. So I tried to figure out why this was happening and with a bitter luck, I managed to remove a few App Store apps including Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, PopAGraph etc. and rebooted again after that. It began to work fine just like before but just as soon as I finished reinstalling the Messenger app using the Apple App Store, it froze. Anyone caring to help me out? And I want to avoid a factory reset if possible.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Also
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.

  • HT1688 I just downloaded iOS7 and my phone (5) keeps freezing and turning off. Why?

Phone keeps freezing after iOS7 download

    Hello Coiel,
I would be concerned too if my iPhone was unexpectedly powering off.  I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this.  I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • I don't want my music on my iPad as it takes up too much space, but I do want it on my iPhone and iPod touch.  How do it prevent it from going to iPad?

How do I get my music only on my IPhone and iPod touch, but keep it off my iPad.

If you're talking about stopping music purchased from the iTunes store automatically downloading to your iPad, go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and under Automatic Downloads and turn Music to Off.  If your talking about syncing with iTunes, just uncheck Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings before syncing your iPad.

  • Ok...i just baught a new ipod touch and synched it to my old computer to get my music off it...but when i synched it to my new comp it wants to erase everything thats not baught from i tunes....how do i keep the music in order to sync to my new comp?

i just baught a new ipod touch and synched it to my old computer to get the music off it but when i synched it to my new computer it wants to delete all the music on it that wasnt baught through itunes....how do i keep my cd's and stuff that are on the ipod now and put it onto my new computer?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
