Just like starting over?

Question

My anchor file in Dreamweaver is 2008. I update to a wip site
only before it is moved by someone else to the actual website.
Recently the person who updates the actual site reorganized the
files on the wip server. Now all html file are in a folder called
-html-, all js files are in a folder called -js-, all flv files are
in a folder called -flv- and so on. I have been able to reassert
the template to the wip site, but find that the img files will not
appear on the wip site.
This is the main problem that I have been dealing with: the
image files. They seem to be out of place ( the site in general is
now more difficult to update). I cannot check them to make sure
they are in place.
The person who reorganized the server files in the first
place now tells me it is creating more work for them because I
can't update the image files properly.
I'm also being told I have to make the image file links
absolute links. This, to me, makes no sense.
I don't know where to start to get the image files back in
line. Suggestions?
I have done a lot of searching online and at the bookstore
for the answer, but seem to be running into a brick wall.

Well, that's pointing at the live site, so you'll have to
make sure the
images are actually on the live site.
In design view, in DW, I don't believe it will grab images
from absolute
URLs (only relative urls)

Right, but the link is pointing at the live server, not the
wip server.
Which, really, defeats the purpose of having your staging
server anways. ;o)
