  • Third party sales related question

I am trying to analyze my client SAP system and came across a scenario like this.
    1) A 3rd party sales order is created without any subsequent documents like Purchase order etc as in a standard 3rd party flow. A new sales document type (for example ZABC(not the real names)) is configured for it and a normal item category is used in the Sales order. The schedule line category doesn't create any Purchase Requisitions and henceforth any subsequent documents. An IDOC is created though. Also the SP is a marked as a third party customer.
Why we dont have he subsequent documents generated in this case.I am not able to understand this process with business point of view.Is it that they just creat a 3rd party SO in the system for there reporting purposes or anything else.? Is this kind of situation used for any other client then please let me know the reason behind it.
    2) I also have a customized 3rd party order type  (for example Z3AB (not the real names)) which follows all the standard 3rd party sales flow. But in this case the customer is not marked as a third party relevant but the item category is ZTAS (Third Party Item) because of which we get the complete flow of a standard third party sales.
So please let me know the difference between the 2 scenarios.I was thinkin that the customer should always be marked as a third part relevant but thats not the case in the second option.
Let me know in case of any other information required.

    Hi,
    General third party sales.
two types of process we can follow.
    1. Third party scenario in which vendor sent the item to the customer and the company will bill the customer.
    2. The third party scenario where vendor send the material and the company delivery the stock to the customer and bill.
As per the your CASE1:it refer to the second process above.
created a sales order. and generated a IDOC. will hit the customer.
Documentation is need, say if the idoc has wrong picked the quantity , or if the proof of delivery should be received. then with what reference you will change are no that the order is completed.
Example : statiscal invoice will be done based on the vendor delivered material and Proof of delivery.
as the second CASE 2: the process which clearly explains what we have done .
Example : say if you have 200 materials , 100 materials will be send by vendor 1 and another 100 send by vendor 2. so this process  be clear where , what we are doing.
    thanks

  • Cannot close sales order for third party sales

    Hello Gurus,
I cant seem to close a third party sales order even after it has been delivered and the incoming reciept match the sales order as well as purchase requisition or purchase order. at first I thought it was the difference in the unit of measure b/w the delivered products and the ordered products, but that is not the case because even when they are still the same and the quantities match I still have an issue and when I run VA05 (list of sales order) the sales order for the third party sales still shows up. An example is sales order XXX / PO XYZ/ Inv XYY u2013 ordered 45,000, shipped 39,980), we resolve it with the following steps below
    1. change the PO quantity to match the invoice quantity
    2. the requisition then re-opened itself automatically.
    3. I then changed the requisition and marked it closed.
    4. I then could go to the sales order and change the order quantity to match the billed and invoiced quantity. The rejection code 52 did not work u2013 I received a hard error:  PO XYZ must be deleted before the line item could be rejected.
This is a whole lot of steps to perform just to correct 1 backorder. The reason that it had to be corrected is that the sales order  mfg line stays on the Billing Due list and does not clear it self out unless you perform the steps above.
Also like I said even when all the quantities are the same I still have this issue so is ther any thing I can do to resolve this issue in configuration or otherwise and also we are using the satndard item category "TAS" for third party sales.
I will appreciate you contribution and help to resolve this matter
    Thanks

Unfortunately, all the steps need to be performed to close the status. I think even giving tolerances will not close the status. If it is a regular sale order, a small BDC program may be written to change the sale order quantity to match the invoice quantity. Since its a third party and there are too many documents which are involved in the process using ABAP programs is not a convenient option.

  • Third party sale-how to GI GR simultaneously in outbound delivery

VA01 - Item cat:TAS/ sch.line cat- CS- with which automatic PR will be created,
schedule line- bussiness data :item category =blank , acct assgt cat. =M .movement type =601 .
item category;  special stock = E.
ME21N wrt: PR generated in step-1
vl01n - assignment of Purchase order in outbound delivery
vl02n - carry out at the same time a goods issue (referred to the delivery) and a goods receipt (referred to the PO).
    MIRO - verifying vendor invoice.
VF01- wrt: sales order created in step-1
in this case, my process is not like the stander third party sale.
How to config the sap to GI and GR simultaneously in the the t-code "vl02n"?
and GI and GR is all related to the "E" stock?
    thanks a lot.

    Hi,
In third party sales there is no outbound delivery take place, our vendor ships material to our customer,
    Process :
Create sales order >> PR >> P.O >> Invoice reciepts >> Invoice to customer
Still if you want to carry our that goods you recieved & want to perform outbound delivery then you can still able to configure it, but simplest way is just Determine item category TAB instead of tas in sales order
    Process
Sales order >> PR >> PO >> Goods reciepts - MIGO >> Invoice reciepts - MIRO >> Outbound delivery >> Invoice to customer.

  • How to configure a new third party sales document type?

    Hi SAP SD gurus,
I am new to the SAP world, I need your help in configuring a new third party sales document type for a site.
There are existing third party document types being used in the region, but the client wants an entirely new third party document type that is activated for CREDIT MANAGEMENT.
I just need your inputs, as how to go about it. If I copy from an existing third party sales doc. What additional steps do I need to follow? Like Item category config, copy control settings, and credit management.
Is there a need to create new billing types?
Also as per process, by creating a new document type, how will it affect the logistic processes, if any?
Thanks a lot in advance for your valuable inputs.

    Hello,
You can create new document type under following customization path
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Define Sales Document Types
Now create new document type by copying the standard document type OR
    Now go to
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Define Item Categories
which is already defined for third party sales (TAS)
Now assign this iteme category to your new document type
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Assign Item Categories
Assignment needs to be done in combination of sales document type and item category group (BANS)
    Now
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Schedule Lines
Assignment of schedule line is already done as you are using the standard one.
Lastly, you may need to maintain copy control for your newly created sales document type for this go to
SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Maintain Copy Control for Sales Documents
(Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document)
Here you can define copy control requirements.

  • Return process in Third Party Sales

    Hi ppl need some help,
In Third party Sales what happens if certain goods supplied by the Vendor to the customer are 'Defective' & are to be returned by the customer.
Does the customer return it to the Company to which he placed the order or he returns it to the Vendor.
How can we configure this process in SAP to settle the billing & issue the credit memo to the customer?
    Shilpi

    Hi Shilpi,
third party Return process you can configure like this,
Take return goods from ur customer, Your customer will return goods to you and not to vendor, remember one thing ur cutomer doesnt know who is vendor.
Create CR with refeerence to RE. Because RE will contain that Product and quantity which you ar getting back from the Customer and that you have invoiced the customer.
E.G. If you Sent 2 Quantiy of Materail XYZ at 50 Rs each to the customer, but you Got invoice from ur vendor at 40 Rs Each.
and if customer retuirn 1 quantity u have to return him 50 Rs and not 40 Rs.
So Create CR with respect to RE.
    Hope this will help.
Revert back if u need any further help.
    Thanks,

  • Third party sales revenue getting posted to Profit Center valuation in COPA

    Hi,
We have activate profit center valuation for our operating concern.
During normal OTC cycle (third party sales), all the data is flowing correctly in legal view for the COPA document
In profit center valuation, only revenue is flowing and no other values like discounts, standard costs are flowing to Profit center valuation view
My question why only revenue is flowing and not any other values. Is this way system should behave
    Thanks.

If you have created new GL Accounts to map the Third party scenario, the pre-requesite is that you might need to create cost elemenet with category 11 or 12.
Further only assignments are condition types assigned to value fields.
Check if the billing type is reset under TCode KE4W.

  • How to raise customer invoice in case of third party sale from PS

    Dear All,
In case of third party sale from project systems module, PR is raised which is further converted to PO and once the material reaches at client place GRN is done.Based upon the GRN the actual cost is booked to the project. How should I raise the customer invoice against the materials received by the customer?
I went through the Forum and based upon the threads there, I came to know that one option is to  create sales order for the same items and do order based billings. But for this I have to enter the same materials items again in the Sales order which is nothing but duplicacy of data.
Is there any alternative to this? Or some other way by which the PO line items be copied to sales order so that I can save time while creating sales order.
    Regards,
    B P Singh

    Hi Virendra,
                       Business scenario is like this.
I have created project and activities.Have assigned materials as 3rd party sale in NWA. I have released the project.PR are getting followed by PO.On doing the GR the actual costs are getting booked on NWA.
My concern is how to bill the Items(the same material components) which are assigned to activity.
As per your input I need to do Resource Related billing. Thanks for the input. It is no longer required to assign materials in DIP to Carry out RRB.
To carry out RRB do I need to create Sales Order first ? If  No then how to do RRB? If Yes  I need to create a Sales Order with all the material components which I have assigned at activity level. So I was looking for some alternative so that SO creation becomes less tedious.

  • In Third Party sales order processing how we come to know that the customer

    Hi SAP SD Gurus,
In Third Party sales order processing how we come to know that the customer is recived the Goods from the vendor?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sreenivas.P

From a high level view, the behavior should work like this:
    -  Sales order placed from customer PO via Tcode VA01. Purchase Requisition created upon saving the order
    -  Purchase order created with reference to Purchase Requisition via Tcode ME21N
    -  Receive confirmation from vendor that goods have shipped via EDI
    -  Create invoice receipt to vendor via Tcode MIRO
    -  Create billing document to bill customer via VF01

  • Return Sales of Third Party Sales

    Dear Guru's,
My scenario is that I have done Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification (Sale Ord - PR - PO - MIGO - MIRO - Cust. Invoice) in SAP System. According to this vendor has delivered the material to the customer but customer found some damage to the material
and now the customer wants to return this material and also required credit for paid amount. So whom should the customer send this complaint (ofcorz to the company) and how the company will handle this return process to provide the credit to the customer.
Company can convince the customer for subsequent free of charge delivery also but tell me how that flow would be in SAP.
I have to map this with correct Financial impacts. Please Guru's guide me on the above scenario and if you need some more input
please ask me. Suggestions are also welcome.
    regards,
    Vojas

    Dear Vojas,
You can ask your client as to how they process practically in this scenario.
    You can do...
Create return sales order wrt original SO or Billing doc. --> Create return delivery with move. type 651. So there will not be any accounting doc. created --> then wrt return SO you can create credit memo or if the customer agrees, company can deliver free of charge material
    Then
Create Subsequent FOC SO wrt original SO -
Here For this FOC SO, at schedule line VOV6, assign Order type as NB- PR and Item category as 5. So again PR will be created and you can process like normal Third party process. Here you will not bill the customer.
    Hope you get some inputs
    regards,
    Sagar

  • Payment Terms in Third Party Sales Invoice.

    Hi Experts,
We are facing the problem in third party sales process.
Suppose X is our customer and Y is our vendor, here Y is supplying the material directly to X and Y sending us the bill of entry and other documents to us, and then we create the sales invoices to X, we are following all process like first we create SO to X then with the PR we create PO to Y then we do migo and miro of vendor invoices then creating the sales invoice to X.
The main problem is that we want that the payment due date to our customer invoice starts from the vendor bill of lading date which we enter at the time of migo and miro (document date), but in our system, in sales invoice to X, system is calculating payment terms which we have entered in the customer master of X.
How to get above functionality activated in sap.

  • Third party sales issue

    hi
    experts,
can any body explain in third party sales where do we see migo, miro, if possible step by step process.
    thanks in advance

Customize the third party sales in summary:
    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material u2013 Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and, therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • Cost value for third party sales order scenario

Greetings, I have a cost question involving the Third Party Sales Order (Item category TAS).
At billing (VF01), the cost being picked up by the system are the value from the PO (PBXX condition type). I would like the system to pick up the entire  COGS value (inclusive of freight values) posted at MIGO.
Ex. If Purchase price is 100 and freight is 20, I want 120 (the COGS value) to be shown in the cost field. It currently shows 100.
    The steps I follow are
    1) Create OR sales order (item category TAS)
    2) Create PO referencing PR
    3) Goods Receipt  D 120 COGS/ C 100 GRIR /C 20 freight
    4) Outbound Delivery (Confirmation only)
    5) Billing (Costs showing 100?!)
Again, only the PBXX condition type value (From MM Calculation Schema) is being picked up.
How can I get the system to pick up the freight value as well?
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi,
If you bring the Freight condition after PBXX and include in the net value, your problem will be solved.  so it will be 120 in MIGO, MIRO, Dellivery and VPRS in billing.
We have the same situation and its working fine for us.
    Thanks
    Krishna.

  • Forecast Consumption from Third-party Sales Order

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I would like to know how can I maintain a forecast that can be consumed by third-party sales order, if there is such standard SAP way to do that. What planning strategy and/or customizing do I need to do?
Thanks in advance for your help and support.

    Hi,
Whether SO consumes planned independent requirements or not it depend on your planning startegy.
Please check 'Planning with final assembly' (strategy 40). /Third party sales orders are equal to other SO, so, I think you caanot make difference third party and normal process from planning point of view/

  • Route determination third party sales order

We are using third party sales order.  The process flow is as follows.
Sales order -> Purchase requisition-> Purchase order-> Vendor ships material directly to customer.
Route is currently determinined based on the following:
    1. Departure zone (from shipping point)
    2. Shipping condition ( from ship to customer master)
    3. Transportation Group (rom material master)
    4. Destination zone (Transportation zone of the Customer in the order)
Shipping point is in US, but the vendor who ships material to customer is in China. So, we want the Departure zone for the purpose of Route tdeterimination to be based on address in vendor master, and not shipping point.
Is there anyway, we can do this?
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Dear Srini,
    Welcome to SCN forum....
    I find route determination for third party sales not logical. Just think  in Third-Party Orders, theres is no Material-Movement  and no Deliveries from our Plant;
In this case Route Determination will not be applicable. Customer has placed order to you and you have placed an order to your vendor, who directly deliver the goods to your customer. And you dont have to decide which route customer's transporter will take?
So as per me you need not determine routes in case of third party sales order.
    Thanks,
    Raja
