A laryngectomy has left me unable to speak over my cell. I still need to communicate via text and would like to use one device. I have an Ipad Air 2 WiFi + Cellular that I use to write messages on and would like to know if adding the ap Talkatone and using my cell number will allow me to use my Ipad as my one communication device and not have to carry my phone any more.

With the wifi only one you can only get internet via wifi.
With the cellular one you can also access the internet via cellular (with appropriate data plan)
beyond that, and the price, they're the same -

ok, I did, and it said again congrats your iPhone is unlocked, but, when it said there was a new carrier update, I cancelled it, but, it asked me again, I cancelled again, I guess I'm scared it will lock it again if I allow the carrier update.
Oh, there it goes again, this time on the phone, arg. I hit update, I hope it doesn't freak out.
I'm glad I didn't destroy the SIM like I almost did. But, it will come out again, longer battery life with the cell portion turned off. -
Will I need to purchase iWork for my iPad if I purchase an iPhone 5s? Everybody knows the iPhone 5s with IOS7 gives iWork for free. I assume that if I buy an iPhone 5s (or 5c) then iWork would be listed as a "purchased" app in my itunes store under my account. My iPad retina is in the same account... or are keynote, pages, and numbers completely seperate between ipad and iphone? I know they would be a seperate purchase for my Powerbook. I just bought an new ipad mini with wifi and cellular. Is there any way to send text messages to people and contacts that do not have iphones such as friends with blackberrys or a samsung galaxy smartphone from this ipad. Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

No. Netflix is solely a streaming service and does not provide downloads. If you want downloaded movies, buy or rent from the iTunes Store. Note that in some cases people have found that rented movies still require connection to the ITunes Store to play, for reasons I have yet to figure out, so purchases are safer.

Check out your campsites, many have wifi available. ANd you'd just connect your devices to them.
You could also look into a device like the mifi, which is a portable wifi transmitter that connects via the cell phone network. (It's also possible if you have a smart phone that your phone will allow for tethering if your plan allows for it)
but check out the coverage maps. Especially in the south west there are massive dead spots due to mountains and sparse populations. FOr example, most of the grand canyon is one giant dead zone (kinda funny to stand there on the south rim and be surrounded by people trying to get a signal)
Granted this was a few years ago but generally, cell coverage comes with population. -
