Just loaded CS5.5 Production Premium for Mac and cannot get Premier Pro to open-error messages

Just loaded CS5.5 Production premium onto my iMac and I am getting an error message when I try to open Premier Pro i.e., [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/Mulder64/shared/adobe/MediaCore/ASL/Foundation/Make/Mac/../../S rc/DirectoryRegistry.cpp-283]. I am finding similar issues with Encore. Haven't been able to get through to Adobe help as yet, anyone have an idea?

Which language is your default system language set to? This is critical as you may have installed support for langauges that your version of CS cannot handle. The common fix is to choose File --> Info or File --> Explore Package and remove e.g. Asian languages...

I think I am following the correct procedure -- I went to the Firefox bookmark manager, followed the path Import HTML/from an HTML file, and then located the Navigator file "bookmarks.html" inside my users folder. Some bookmarks had been inserted into 3.6.15 before I attempted the import, and I had assumed -- incorrectly -- that the imported bookmark file would override those, not just add onto them. When I looked lower on the list of bookmarks, I realized that the imported bookmarks were, indeed, there. I was also confused because the bookmarks toolbar did not automatically change to the toolbar from Navigator. All is well now. Again, thank you.

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

No. Reader will not damage files. It is only meant to read pdf files. PDF files are frequently damaged when sent as email due to encoding issues.

Where can I download the MAC version of CS 5.5 Production Premium?

No point. Serial numbers are platform specific. You simply cannot use your serial number on Mac. You have to upgrade to CS6 and make the platform switch.

I own a Version of CS6 Production Premium for my Windows Pc.
My Pc is getting old and I would like to buy a Mac. Will it be possible to activate my version of CS6 Production Premium on my new Mac, if I deactivate my old Pc?
Maybe I will buy two Macs at the same time. Would it be possible to install CS6 on both?

You need to obtain the Mac version in order to install and activate on a Mac (or two - yes you can install and activate on two machines). To do that you need to make a cross-platform swap, which Adobe allows for with the latest version of their products (CS6 at this time). Here is a link that explains what you need to do...

Hi Ned.. thanks taking the time to reply.. but, unfortunately, I got the same error message. BTW, I found it interesting that my serial number did NOT work in the downloaded version, so I selected the trial, which resulted in the same error message: Your installation encountered errors, Please try restarting your system and installing again. Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again. I am open to other trouble-shooting ideas!

Switching CS5.5 Production Premium from Mac to PC?

I recently bought a new Asus and I was hoping that there was a way to install my cs5.5 on it. I bought production premium a few years ago for my mac. I deactivated it, but the serial won't work when I try it on my new pc. I'm really hoping I don't have buy it again, because I want to use my pc for most of my design work.

We purchased the CS Production Premium from a retailer by mistake.
We really needed CS Design and Web Premium.
Since they are the same price is it possible to swap licenses?
The retailer was of no help.

Not that I know. Any (unopened) packages will have to be returned via the retailer, everything else is outside of Adobe's hands. feel free to contact sales support, but I don't think there is anything anyone can do.

Back up and access problems on MacBook Pro 15 2.2Ghz Yosemite 10.10.2 cannot finish time machine backup on My Passport for Mac, and cannot recognize LaCie quadra H2

New MacBook Retina Pro 15.4 inch with 2.2 Ghz and running Yosemite 10.10.2 will not recognize LaCie Quadra H2 disk. Also will not complete Time Machine Backup onto My Passport for Mac which it does recognize. Plenty of disc space both externals.

If you choose to use garbage such as "Intego VirusBarrier" you are going to need more memory, a lot more. I suggest you uninstall it according to its instructions, and evaluate your Mac's performance without burdening it with completely useless junk. As long as Intego remains active, your Mac will have few resources remaining to do anything else.
Using Intego's "Virus Barrier" and "Net Barrier" products on a brand new Mac containing nothing but one minimally configured user account resulted in performance degradation so severe that it became nearly unusable. No knowledgeable Mac user would consider using it even remotely tolerable.
Intego should only be uninstalled using the uninstaller included with it. Don't use anything else. A successful uninstallation will result in the following:

My Extensions tab shows 1Password for FireFox3 & FireFox4& Add-on Compatibility Reporter, but no 1Password for FireFox5.

Any ideas?
I'd really rather use FireFox than Safari, but if it's a no go, (no compatibility, no rool-back) I'll be forced to dump FireFOx and use Safari (only my choice of last resort.)

But haven't found where on the Mozilla site it resides for download.....on with the the fun!
