Just Made the Apple Jump!!
I just made the jump to Apple after being a lifelong PC user. I finally ordered the MacBook 2.0GHZ, 120GB drive with 512 of ram.(I already purchased 2GB of aftermarket for immediate installation). What does everyone recommend as first software purchases that will truly allow me to experience the power of the Apple!
I've had my 2.0 GHz MacBook for over a week. I'm loving it. I just put 2 gigs of ram in today. Very nice.
I stuck with the 60 gig hdd. I'm going to do the upgrade myself sometime by the end of the year. There's a 160 gig hdd out now, but it isn't a SATA version. When that comes out, I'm jumping on it.
One very important application is VLC. It's an all purpose video playback app. Microsoft has a Windows Media Player for PowerPC. Even on PPC, it wasn't all that great. They quit working on it and a company called Flip4Mac is working on a little thing that lets you watch WMV through Quicktime. MS seems to be supporting Flip4Mac because they link to them. I plan on checking Flip4Mac's site every so often for when they release it.
Safari is a good web browser, but Firefox is nice to have around too. Some sites just don't do what you expect with Safari. On those, I switch over to Firefox.

i have just made my apple id. i have made this for itunes. after making my account i have problem with the review payment information as i do not use any credit cards and there is no option like NONE in review payment information. what should i do now? to proceed further? plz help me!
How did you create the account ? If you followed the instructions on this page when creating it then you should have got the 'none' option : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
e.g. on a computer's iTunes, if currently signed into an account then you logged out of it, and you then found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
And then clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
When I tried that process to create an account a few days ago I got the 'none' option on the payment details screen.
If you didn't use that process then you will need to create a new account using it (the instructions won't work with an existing account). -
I've bought leather case for iPhone 4 with a magnet clip situated on the back side just above the "apple" label. Can it interfere with any signals or made other damage?
I have been using a leather case with a magnetic clasp for months. The only side effect is that I need to recalibrate the compass app when I use it. This is really not a problem since I don't use the compass app very often. I haven't encountered any other interference or problems.

I just made the switch to mac. I am have installed all the new PS6 CC and bridge and I am now trying to add some presets to my ACR but when I search for the folder to place them it is not there. From what I researched it says it should be under camera library/application support/adobe/camera raw/settings but I can only get to library/application support/adobe/ and then there are two different camera raw options I have checked both and there are not settings folder. If anyone can help me please thanks
Apple most likely has the same poor taste that Microsoft does when it come to defaults. Microsoft likes to hide things like settings, preset, folders etc from normal users think the dumb or something else. If Apple also hide things you will have to make some system setting changes that will allow Finder to do it job and find it for you.

Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

When I run the app ALLMYMUSIC FROM WONDERSHARE after installing I get this window up.
When I log in with my Apple ID I just get:
The Apple ID you entered couldn't be found or your password was incorrect. Please try again.
I have however made sure that this is the correct Apple ID and password that I am putting in. In the Mac App Store it works.
Do you have any solution?

If you haven't already created an account in the app store:
Scroll down to the bottom of the FEATURED page touch APPLE ID and CREATE ACCOUNT
If you have already created an account in the app store:
First of all, double check you're spelling the password right.
If you're sure it's not the password, scroll down to the bottom of the FEATURED page in the App Store on your iPhone, touch APPLE ID: and then VIEW ACCOUNT and make sure you have the correct card details and billing address on your account.
Also, connect your iPhone to your computer, then log in to the iTunes store in iTunes on your computer and check all your details. After you've updated your details sync your iPhone.
If you still can't get it to work, book an appointment with a genius at your nearest Apple Store. They should be able to solve whatever the problem is. -
i just purchased the apple tv, i have an older tv that does not have an HDMI input. is there a converter i can get because the itv only have an HDMI output ? help.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p. -

1. Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen)and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
2. Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the"Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
3.You may let go when you see the silver Applelogo.

When I want to change my desktop pattern, I no longer have access to my iPhoto as a choice. I am just given the Apple pictures and colors. I have OS 10.9.4 on a MacBook Pro. I could always choose any photo in my iPhoto for my desktop, but no longer. This problem is only about a month old and I can't figure out what to do.

I just left the apple store after they checked the MAC and wiped it clean. I have plugged the external drive in and see the device; however, they was no prompt to migrate the files, as I was told. How do I get the files to migrate. I can see yesterdays back-up. I thought it was to automatically prompt for the migration process?

I got shafted during the pre-order even though I ordered on time. I even got bamboozled at the Verizon store after waiting for four hours, and being third in line. At 8am we were all told that Apple sent them absolutely no iPhone 6 Pluses. Wonderful news right. After all this **, I was lucky enough to snag a white/silver 64GB Plus at the Apple store today. They got a late shipment, and received five more Plus models tonight. Needless to say I canceled my order with Verizon today. I would just monitor the Apple store closely for availability at local stores. That's what I did, and scored epically. In the end I got my iPhone 6+ on launch weekend...no thanks to Verizon.
I tried to buy an iPhone 6 Plus in both Verizon and Apple stores and was told that they didn't have any and did not know when they would receive more. I tried to order online at both the Apple and Verizon online stores but could not because my current Loyalty plan is not available for online orders. Next, I called Verizon to place the order with a live rep. After being sent to two different reps and waiting over an hour I finally got to someone that was able to take my order for exactly the color and storage size that I wanted. I received an email receipt confirming my order and keeping my current loyalty plan with the $200 trade in promotion for my old iPhone 5. While I have to wait a month to receive my new phone, I am happy that I will receive the phone that want and get the trade in promotion. I am a patient man

I have a Macbook pro mid 2011 and just bought the Apple TV. While watching program or movie from any of the apps such as Watch ABC, the program keeps stopping and starting constantly.
That would indicate a network issue.
Reboot ATV and router
Make sure DNS is set to auto
Ensure router is up to date, if on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

ICal removes events after 6 months
