DJust need /8 inch to RCA for digital coax out with audigy se right? Hi there,
I need a low profile soundcard that can deli'ver digital 5. through either coax or optical, looks like the audigy se will do just that. I have a yamaha receiver with DTS, DD, etc with a coax input that I want to use. I want to confirm that all I really need is a cable that has an /8 inch plug for the blue digital out on the soundcard with an RCA end for my receiver.... sounds simple enough to me but I want to make sure. I know I can get the digital I/O module but don't see a point if I just need the cable I mentioned.

Let's take Battlefield 242 for example. The game will not allow me to specify hardware sound.
That would be because that card DOES NOT have any hardware on it, it is a totally software dri'ven card.
And yes your old Li've card is much better than the Audigy SE. The Audigy SE is nothing more than a re-named SB Li've 24 bit, which is also a software based card (same applies to the X-Fi Xtreme Audio, a POS card that should have never been given the X-Fi name).

One Adobe ID can be used to activate any CC subscription twice. So you need to have three different Adobe ID for each of the pre paid subscription so that they can be used.
If you keep the same ID for three CC, it will not activate the third time & ask you to de activate it from the previous one.
You can return two of the subscription & buy them under different ID.

If your problem is with another device using Overdrive, Bluefire, Aldiko or similar third party app, it is recommended not to mention that app when on the chat, just mention that you have run out of authorizations (E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS) . Thanks to AJP_Bear for that tip.

Need to setup Premiere CS6 sequence for two file types with different field orders

I have a client who has shot video for me using two cameras, one camera was set to progressive, and the other to interlaced upper field first. I need to use both file types in the edit and have been struggling to set up the sequence to get the best look for the end product, a DVD. I have several videos to do for her that were all shot in the same way, so I need a solution!
I would appreciate help figuring out how to set up this work flow from beginning to end.
Should I convert one of the files from the beginning so they match field orders before going into a sequence? Or do I just need to do some adjusting of the files once they are in the sequence? Is it just as simple as changing the transcode settings to favor the upper field first? I'm definitely having issues once the video is transcoded in Encore and you can see a lot of jagged edges and lines especially during movement. My client isn't happy and I've tried several workarounds, but to no avail.
Here are the two file types I have:
File extension: .MOV
H.264, 1920x1080, Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 48000 Hz, stereo
FPS 29.97
No Fields: Progressive Scan
File extension: .MTS (my Mac finder can't read these files, but they are read in Premiere)

I've just been setting the sequence to match the .MOV files since they look much better than the .MTS files. I've done the opposite as well, setting the sequence to match the .MTS files and it doesn't seem to help. I've also changed the field order of the files once they are in the sequence by changing the field options and have tried converting the .MTS files in the Media Encoder, but nothing I've done has worked.
Any help would be so appreciated! The client I have is a photographer, so she wasn't aware of this issue when she first shot these videos. So I have 10 videos with these issues I need to get back to her, hopefully issue free! I'm struggling as an editor because my last job I was using FCP and was working with videographers who knew what they were doing, so I've never faced such problems before. Plus I'm new to the Adobe software. Not a good combination. Please forgive me if I didn't give all the information you need. I will happily respond with whatever more information you may need to help me out!

I wonder if you could do your edit ignoring any visual issues of the interlaced footage but keeping the different sources separate ( checkerboard edit Vid 1/ Vid 2 )
Lock it down then export the interlaced part of the edit as a Digital Intermediate.
Maybe Export the other source as well to the same codec. DI
Bring them back together in a New Sequence. You wold have to deal with the black spacing.

I don't know what you mean by "bandwidth options". If you mean the frequencies and bands the iPad can use with cell carriers, those are listed in the Wireless and Cellular area of the tech specs. For iPads sold in the US, see:

Need help setting up 0404 PCIe for SPDIF in/out

I had previously been using an M-Audio card but have moved to the Emu 0404 b/c M-Audio doesn't support PCIe yet only PCI.
Anyway, I am trying to make simple connnections and find the Patchmix very confusing. I don't want to use any of the DSP effects since I have excellent plugins in my DAW software.
All I want to do is have SPDIF L/R going from my Mytek Stereo 96 AD into my DAW and SPDIF L/R going out to my JBL monitors which have built in DA conversion.
So far I have not been able to get any sound at all from my Reaper projects, just trying to play them back at this point not even trying to record anything new yet.
Any suggestions? I've tried putting sends on the tracks etc but still can't get any sound to my monitors and the SPDIF outputs don't show up in my DAW software routing matrix...

Well it looks like I've got more troubles. Reading the 0404 users manual last night there is a sentence there that says "The SPDIF inputs and outputs are usable at 44.1, 48 and 96khz." This is pretty much a dealbreaker for me since everything I've recorded for the past 2 years is at 24/88.2 and it's my preferred sample rate going forward.
Does anyone know of a PCIe interface with SPDIF in/out that supports the 88.2khz sampling rate?

Spotify 1.0.11 beta for Linux is out, with 32-bit binaries!

Today we've released Spotify client version 1.0.11 for Linux. There are some big changes in this version, and it's still considered to be a beta release, and will be in beta until the items in the "known issues" list below are resolved. If you want to try out this version, installation instructions remain the same as for the other betas:

This build ships with the following limitations, of which we are still currently working on:
Proper dbus support for MPRIS MediaPlayer2
There is no application menu
It is not possible to re-enable GPU acceleration through the settings
Important: regarding GPU acceleration, this is now completely disabled in the client, and we do not yet have a way to enable it in the preferences. This change was originally made in Chromium for Linux, but since the Spotify client uses CEF, we inherited this change from them. According to the Launchpad bug report, faulty GPU driver support was the single largest cause of crashes for Chromium on Linux (this graph shows how Chromium crashes on Linux have dramatically decreased after the setting was changed).
Depending on your hardware and GPU drivers, this change is either going to be a big annoyance for you or a huge blessing. For our users who experienced frequent and strange crashes with the client, this change will probably greatly increase client stability. For other users with certain video cards, scrolling performance and redraw rates may be noticeably choppier. Some users won't notice anything at all.
The obvious solution here is that our Linux client needs a toggle to manually re-enable this feature in the settings. Exposing this feature is not as straightforward as you might believe, or else we would have done it already. ;) However, we're working on a way to do just that, and hopefully will have something in place for the next beta release.

WinXP: Resize pic for digital photo frame with PS Elements

Preloading a small memory card for a photo frame to be given for holiday gift. Not familiar with these frames.
This Digital Photo Frame is a 16x9 aspect, 800x480 pixels.
In PS Elements, I crop each pic to 16" x 9"
Then resize photo to 800 pixel width, constraining proportions it sets the height at 450 pixels, resolution 72 pixels/in. Seems I am wasting the frame real estate.
Change the crop tool for 15" x 9"
Then resize photo to 800 pixel width, constraining proportions it sets the height at 480 pixels, resolution 72 pixels/in.
Each photo comes to ~ 400k.
Questions:
Which above crop/resize/resolution is best? or alternate?
Will the frame make use of the 400k pics, or should I reduce quality to something less?

There is a property of the CNiReport object called "Orientation". You just set that property to Landscape using the enumeration provided in the CNiReport class. Here is an example with the full path to the enumeration value:
