I want Insert/Update and Add Column at the same Table and at the "same" Time but in different sessions.
Example:
At first the "insert/update" statement:
Insert into TestTable (Testid,Value) values (1,5105);
After that the "add" statement:
Alter table TestTable add TestColumn number;
- sadly now I get the message: ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
"insert/update" statement:
Insert into TestTable (Testid,Value) values (2,1135);
After that the execute commit.
I don't know when the first session set the commit statement so I want that the DB the "Alter Table..." statement execute if it's possible.
If it's possible I want to save a repeat loop with the "Alter Table..." statemtent.

You can't run a DDL statement against a table with transactions pending. Session 2 has to wait until session commits or rollbacks (or until the session is killed). That's just the way it is.
This makes sense if you think about it. The data dictionary has to be consistent across all sessions. If session 2 was allowed to change the table structure whilst session 1 has a pending transaction then the database is in an inconsistent state. This is easier to see if you consider the reverse situation - the ALTER TABLE statement run by session 2 does a DROP COLUMN TESTID rather than adding a column: now what should happen to session 1's INSERT statement? You have retrospectively invalidated a statement that was perfectly legal when it was executed.
If it's possible I want to save a repeat loop with the "Alter Table..." statemtent.Fnord.

When you install or update software you will often be asked for permission to change the system. This will need your computer's administrator password, chosen when the computer was switched on the very first time. It is nothing to do with the Adobe password.

After I updated firefox to 6.0 today firefox has developed a problem loading multiple tabs. When I try to load 10+ tabs, either at the same time or by opening each tab separately, each tab is stuck trying to connect to the desired page. This continues if I close all the tabs and try to load a single page, the single page is unable to get pass connecting. In order to load a new page when this situation arises I must close down firefox and start again, and the program has no history of the previous session.

MacBook Pro 3,1 - Firewire Bus(ses?), 400 & 800 at the same time
Hi All,
I'm using an RME Fireface 800, which is a FW800 audio interface, but I also have a Maxtor FW400 hard drive.
I know if I daisy-chain the hard drive off the audio interface, then I will drop the bus speed to 400 Mbit/s, but will the same happen if I plug the hard drive into the FW400 port?
I know if I plug something into the FW400 port on my iMac this happens, so everything there is Firewire 800. Should I aim for the same with my MacBook Pro?

plug your FW drive into the other
capture your video to the EXTERNAL drive.

Editing PA30 and at the same time user exit is making update/delete...
Hi all,
I am doing a user exit for PA30.
First, i edit infotype 6 (at this point PA30 is lock) for an employee, then i click "Save". This save button will execute a user exit.
Second, this user exit i have programmed to do another delete and update done in BDC (background) for the same employee.
But this user exit does not work because the PA30 is locked in the first place before it reaches the user exit.
Please advice.

On the question 3, the reason i need to do such event is because we need to update infotype 6 subtype 90 whenever there is a create/change in that infotype 6 subtype 01.
That means subtype 90 will always be updated together with subtype 01.
I need to know whether is this feasible in my user exit that performs such above.

I spent time online chatting with reps from Samsung who tried to get me to do a factory reset even though I'd already told them I couldn't access the screen at all. They ended up suggesting I just send it in for a warranty replacement as the phone was only purchased in the summer. I'd like to see if there are other options? I'm trying Verizon's Software Repair assistant but it seems to be stuck at the 25% downloading mark for quite some time. I'm worried I've killed all my data back up as a result. ANY help would be incredible now.

Not only will holding Option while booting not work, but all of the other boot tricks (safe mode, single user mode, etc), will not work. I am at a loss. I also don't have an optical drive in this particular MBP. I have an SSD where it once was.
I know you have tried other booting types, but have you tried booting into recovery mode? Cmd+R or internet recovery? By any chance have you recently deleted/resized/changed format to a partition? Even if it was not the main one? Have you installed third party applications that could have messed up your system files? Or some sort of RAID software, Fusion Drive etc.? All of this info will help us to pinpoint your issue quicker and help you. Any change you noticed before this happened (even if it seems small), that you consider worth telling us would be greatly appreciated.
Also, do you have access to another Mac besides this one(preferably)? Or do you have access to a Windows computer (7 or 8 preferably)?

Is there a way to restore more than one MacBook Pro at the same time from an image? .
I restore each MacBook Pro one at a time from an Mountain Lion image on a firewire Hard Drive but each MacBook has to be done one at a time. When I re-image the PC's here at work I'm able to Ghost as many laptops I want simultaneously.
Thank youThey are a few different models of the MacBook Pro ranging from 15.4" i7's to 17" i7's. I would use the same models together though when imaging them just like I do with PC's. For example I would Ghost 5 Lenovo T420 Thinkpads at the same time which all share the same exact specs and config. Looking to do the same with the MBP. I have .dmg image of OSX 10.8.1 on a firewire drive which I'm using. I image all my MBP's with this drive, the only downside is I have to do each MBP one at a time.

I updated to OSX vs. 10.8.5 sent out by Apple on Oct 4,2013. My wireless
Apple keyboard is no longer paired to my imac and at the same time I noted that the keyboard on my ipad2 no longer exists. At first I thought it was an icloud issue but am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.I downloaded 10.8.5 Supplementary and this time there was a picture of my keyboard with the suggestion that I power it on, which I did many times. Finally re-booted my imac and shut down BlueTooth on my ipad. I now have a keyboard back on the ipad and my wireless keyboard on the imac is working.

Trying to play music from my apple tv directly to speakers and at the same time watch tv. Now I'm not that advanced at technology so I kinda need the easiest way to do this. Now I see that the Apple tv has an optical audio output. Can I set that optical out to self powered speakers and then have regular RCA cables set out from the tv to the same speakers and watch the tv on mute, unless I want to turn it up for a moment. I want to be able to airplAy music through my apple tv but also put a game on at the same time if I have guest. I hope my question was clear enough, but that's the best that I can explain it. Oh by the way, I do not have one of those centrAl hub receiver where all the speakers are plugged into and where you can set different inputs and outputs out of it. Everything would be a direct connection.

1. direct connection (optical or stereo cables) to your amplifier
2. use mac to play to atv, or iphone/ipod touch to remote control the atv. (wifi)

Two sessions happens at the same time unluckily. Whether they will all stand by because of "for update" or quit immediately because of "nowait"?

No, it's not.
A deadlock is when sesson-A has a lock on something that session-B needs in order to continue, and at the same time, session-B has a lock on something that Session-A needs in order to continue. They BOTH have something the other needs.
In the OP's case, at least as he described it, it is simple serialization. The one with the lower scn will go, then the next.

Why don't you try? You can setup a small table with some records, open 2 sessions to the same database and for example issue UPDATE statements:
session 1: update where id=1
session 2: update where id=2
session 1: update where id=2 - this will hang waiting for session 2 to commit and free lock
session 2: update where id=1 - ORA-00060

Within the last hour, I noticed that my older MacBook Pro, while I was using iTunes, lost contrast on the screen. I am sorry, but I did not take exact notes on this event. Around the same time, I did do a back up, uploaded Apple software, etc.
I'm using two MacPros simultaniously, the old one for iTunes, and the new one for the other things. My new one has no problems, so am wondering if there is an easy way to correct the older MacPro's contrast problems. The computer is over three years old, and I'm wondering also if this failure is an aging sign. (I also have other problems, such as a noisy DVD drive, which is part of the reason I bought a new MacBook Pro.)Is the older MBP a pre-Unibody model from early 2008? If so, you would be entitled to a free repair.
The lost contrast could be considered distorted video.
Do you have an external monitor? If the external shows the same lost contrast, the graphics chip is likely the culprit. If the external is OK, then you probably have an issue with the built in display or possibly with its connections.
You may also want to check in Universal Access to see if the contrast bar is set in its normal position (all the way to the left).
Apple has a special test they can run to diagnose the NVIDIA issue, so if you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it run.

I was installing the new EFI software update on my macbook pro and I became stuck on the grey screen with the window that said "installing 2 items", its been on the same screen for 2 1/2 hours. does anyone know what I can do?
