Yeah, for some reasons I stopped my participation there (i.e. unexpected formatting code behaviour by the forum software). And reluctant to participate in Database General forum also (i.e. cause of the very "friendly" etiquette I don't like).
Anyway, it would be nice to see again, I've think about that, but hard to leave before a while.

As stated on the Oracle Certification Program: Oracle Database 10g Administrator, once you have completed the OCA you receive a certificate saying you become OCA, but this doesn't happen right after you have finished your exam, at the site where you made the exam you only receive a pass/fail paper. Certificate should be arriving at the address you declared in your registration form within in eight weeks after the examination date, if this doesn't happen then you should address your request to the ocp program (contact information is displayed at the certification site).
You should be aware that for the OCP, there is a requirement for a hands-on course, and you must submit the hands-on course to receive the OCP certificate.

I believe in all cases in addtion to 1z0-204 you will need to complete an addtional high stakes exam and have verified attendance at one of a set specific approved Oracle Training courses delivered by OU or as authorized by OU by an authorized provider.
1z0-204 seems to be an entry level exam which is also available online (non proctored) and precedents indicate it will therefore not receive a certification by itself.

Passed 1Z0-051 -- is the score final?

Hi All,
I'm pursuing 'Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate' certification. Just finished ONLINE '1Z0-051 Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I'. After exam, I get a summary containing e.g. 'Passing Score 60%' and my actual score, which is 'Pass (67.3%)'.
According to what one can see on the official Oracle website describing 'Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I', 'Passing score subject to change'. How it relates to me? If I got an information after the exam confirming that I passed, could I believe that I really passed, or rather shoud wait for some kind of additional confirmation, as 'Passing score subject to change'?
Just a little confusion.

My understanding is:
Your score is final, you have taken an exam where the pass mark for the questions given to you was 60% and you have exceeded that.
Congratulations and well done!
So I believe your pass is forever (unless one were found to have cheated or have violated a non discloure agreement, in which case one could have the pass voided for that)
Oracle reserves the right at a future time to change the pass mark ar a future time if it is more appropriate, probably due to questions in the exam question pool being harder or easier.
I expect this provision on the website is to avoid someone complaining that they looked on the website before the exam and seen a passmark as 60%,
yet when they came to take it they found they had a exam with a passmark of 62% and they might feel they had a grounds for complaint.
The publishing of a guide pass mark on the oracle website is generally useful when comparing with the exam topics in determining whether to study for or preparedness to take an exam,
but it should be only one indicator; my personal opinion is to aim to study to be able to have a shot at all questions. From memory 1z0-147 Program with PL/SQL has a pass mark of 77% or so,
1z0-402 Enterprise Linux Fundamental of about 57%. To get the grade in the former the examiner is probably trying to ensure accurate understanding of specified exam topics, in the latter
the object might be not to worry so much if the examinee did not understand some of broader width of that exam topics as well. In addition beta testing would have determined a lot of people
were finding it hard to achieve on 1z0-402.

First congrats on being OCA and welcome to OTN forums. I don't think that there is any restriction for using the OCA logo provided you have got it from official OCA site. This requires a user name and password to be used to download the authentic logo from Oracle which will come only with your success kit. So technically speaking, if you have passed OCA , you can very well use the logo but ethically speaking, you should wait for the success kit to arrive containing your user name and password to download it.

The course is an instructor-led week long course. It has labs based on a specific setup and uses 2 spiral bound books, Volume 1 and Volume 2
The books are copyright by Oracle and electronic distribution is illegal.

The exam takes information from the course material found in both volumes, as well as material from successful completion of the labs. Reading from the student books may not be sufficient to pass the exam.
A better way to pass the exam is to
a) take the course, either in class or self study CD; or
b) chose one of the related exam-cram books such those listed here

I have just passed TCRM10

Dear All,
I have just finished a course on TCRM10 and i passed the certification, i am now a CRM SAP Associate.
I have 8 years experience in Software Testing and i want a career change either as a CRM Functional consultant or Business Analyst, but i am finding it very difficult to break into the market as i have limited experience in the area of SAP CRM customisation.
Could anybody give advice on what to do?
Secondly, I have no CRM environment to practice with and i am beginning to forget what i learnt in the Academy as per customizing.
Is there any school that can offer me service or further practical training in order to improve on my skills.
Or any further documentation i can read.
My intention is to progress further to take on other courses like Sales, Winclient and IC client in the next couple of months

SAP CRM 7.0 have 2 things to clear certification, TCRM10 & TCRM20...
so I guess u have passed both..... Regarding the further move on learning CRM sales, winclient you need to go back to CRM5.0 version as the CRM 7.0 has only Base customization, Middleware & Web UI for the course.
Please check if those additional are really required or not. If you have done with new version that may be ok I guess, check with some SAP professional before putting more money.
The best thing to be in touch with whatever you have learned is to do some intern kind of thing with some companies who have SAP environment , if they allow you to do so.
Please don't go for any pirated version of SAP CRM environment as those will be wastage of money and those can't be compared with ATC environments.
Regarding your continuous learning check SDN for CRM things, you will find lot.

How to pass 1Z0-051 exam

I prepared to this exam well by reading and implementing the book topics of "OCA Oracle Database 11g:SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051)" + plus articles reads from Oracle website itself; but unfortunately i failed twice, the reason isn't that i did not digest the SQL material or found hard topics to understand, but it is more about the timing of the exam which it limit my thinking process and make me confuse to select the right answer; as you have 70 questions to read, understand, deduce and then answer, as in average time for each question is one minutes and twenty seconds.
I admitted that sometimes i have problem in calculation, but i believe if time is aloud more to me i would easily figure out the question.
I need some advice and instruction here if that possible.

You don't mention if you took this test online .... for various reason my personal opinion is people may be under more time pressure taking it online. I have read somewhere also that if you retake an exam within 5 days you are statisitically almost highly likely to fail it again.
The time element is obviously one part of these exams. 1z0-051 can be done within the time with a little to spare.
Not all questions will take the same amount of time.
In a proctored exam you have the following aids available to you:-
- A timer indicating time left
- The ablility to mark a question for review later.
- The ability to leave a question blank.
- The ability to make notes on wipe board.
Decide a strategy of how you are going to approach questions. For instance i may choose to:
- If I know the answer to a question straight away, mark it, double check then move to next question.
- If I am unsure mark the question, make best possilble answer, note on my wiprepad any certaily wrong answers.
- If I think I am going to take too long on a question (more than 2 mins) make notes of where I'm at, mrk it for review and move on.
Basically you should be able to get through some questions fairly quickly. Others may take longer.
You may also be resented with exhibits and things ..... its very easy to take too much time looking at all the information and getting overwhelmed.
Read the question, elminate wrong answers and move on as quickly as possilbe.
The should already have been practice exams on the CDROM with the book you have bought. These are less useful the more you use them, as you remember the answers.
Additional practice tests can be purchased from [http://www.oracle.com/global/us/education/certification/sts.html] (Either buy transcender or SelftestSoftware, not both).
You may be able to speed up your calculations with time, however if you are having trouble with them permanently then perhaps this is not the career for you, as you may have trouble if you get a job also.
However you may find with practice it all comes into place and you speed up.

If they are not in your photostream, camera roll or computer you may be able to restore if you have backup from the time that pictures were there. Do you?

I Just Did the Exam 1Z0-047 - What's Next?

I just passed my first (Internationally Recognized) Oracle exam 1Z0-047. Hmmm, i got %83. I think its good since its my first exam, i felt i could make it better up to %90+. The paper shows 9 bullet points of topics that i may show review. The topics they mentioned i know it really well. Shall i take the exam again? I don't think its a big deal probably %83 is good. Anyway, the exam center gave me a printed paper of my total score. They said Oracle will send another Certification to my address. Which Certification is official? The one i have been given by the exam center is a printed cert (black and point). Which one should i show to the employers?
I'm happy as well as sad because i knew the mistakes i made are silly (i wish to rid of the bullet points argghhhh) + i did the exam after having at least 3 months college hands on experience.

NO DO NOT TRY TO TAKE ANY PASSED EXAM AGAIN - its against certification candidate agreements : [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=138]
Although the suggested topics are a guide dont dwell on them too much; if you feel you know them ell enough thats fine; move on. Because of the effects of small samples sizes on individual topics these can easily become skewed.

Keep both. 1z0-047 is an exam with fulfills a certification requirement so you get a success pack including a certificate; and thats even more important. Thats the best one to show to your employer; but it may be 8 / 10 weeks beforeyou received it. (NB: Oracle does not send a copy of your exam report - they will only send certificates - however there might be changes when they move to Prometric).

There is no certificate for passing 1Z0-051. It acts only as a portion of a two-test certification track (wither DBA or developer)
