Hi there,
To use the ExportPDF service, simply visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner.  Enter your Adobe ID (email address) credentials to log into the service.  As ExportPDF is web-based, you simply utilize the tool through your web browser.  After you're logged in, you should see the ExportPDF interface, with a button saying 'Select PDF file..' to get the process started. Make sure the 'Recognize scanned text in' checkbox is checked since you're working with scanned PDF files.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Pls tell me how I can convert a PDF form to a Word doc, and have radio buttons etc work?

    Pls tell me how I can convert a PDF form to a Word doc, and have radio buttons etc work?  My PDF form did convert using Adobe PDF Export.... but the formatting is a schamozzle if I try to do anything with it.  Most importantly, I need the check boxes and radio buttons to work in Word!

    Checkboxes and radio buttons are form objects from Acrobat.  There is no equivalent for these objects, with the way they were constructed, within Word.
    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

  • I want to convert a pdf file to a word doc so i can do editing

    how do i convert a pdf file to word with this program..........if i can't do this with trail version someone please tell me

    Hi how to do forum,
    It sounds like you have downloaded the Acrobat trial, is that correct? If so, you can save directly to Word format by opening your PDF in Acrobat, and choosing File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.
    Please let us know how it goes.

  • Copy the caption and value text from a pdf form to a word doc.

    I designed a form to be used by nurses for entering data. They then want to copy the info into a text editor of a program (similar to word). When they copy paste it only copies the field and not the values entered. Any fixes?

    When the form I designed for some nurses is used, the information has to be copied and then pasted into a text editor program for a patient file. When I do a select all and copy, it only copies the fields, not the information entered by the nurses. Is there a way to allow all of the fields and text entered to be copied and then pasted in the editor program?

    Hi there,
    It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
    You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.
    Please let us know how it goes.

    ExportPDF is not for forms. In general, converting forms to Word is a really, really bad idea which can even cause legal problems. Work with the form as a PDF. Acrobat (not Reader) can export form data as simple text for example.

    How do I convert a pdf file into a word doc in order to make chnages?

    You need Acrobat and can then use File --> Save As... --> Microsoft Word. Just don't expect miracels. PDFs aren't meant for editing and you may end up with clumps of text and lose all formatting and may have to rebuild the document completely.

  • When trying to convert a pdf file into a word doc, i only get the graphics but not the text. How do i remedy this?

    When trying to convert a pdf file into a word doc I only get graphics but no text. What to do?

    Hey hamsa142,
    I think you are converting a scanned PDF to word.
    You might need to run OCR first to make the text recognizable and then convert it to word.

    You can set up a temporary button (or link, bookmark, etc.) and add the following JavaScript action:
    // Mouse Up script for a temporary button (or bookmark, etc.)
    // Change the font and font size for all text fields in this document
    for (var i = 0; i < numFields; i += 1) {
        var f = getField(getNthFieldName(i));
        if (f.type === "text") {
            f.textFont = font.Helv;
            f.textSize = 9;
    It also sets the font size, but you can remove that line if you don't need to do that.

  • How to convert a PDF to an editable Word Doc

    I have Acrobat 9 Pro and I'm trying convert a scanned PDF document to an editable Word doc.  I've ran OCR on the document but I'm still losing some text and formatting.  What can I do to improve the integrity of the conversion?

    The OCR is very dependent on the quality of the scan. You might try testing with various scanning options on a sample page. Typically 300 dpi is the minimum for OCR, but some folks like 600 dpi. If the page is clean, with no dust or other imperfections and the text is crisp, you should be able to do reasonably well. It is probably best to run the corrections steps after the OCR (looking at suspects) and editing appropriately.
    The conversion to WORD should not be expected to be real clean in terms of retaining format. You need to look to using style sheets in WORD to simplify the format fixes. Then run the spell check and grammer checker (you might end up with a better document than you started with). There is not a lot more you can do with Acrobat.
    You do have the options of ClearScan and Searchable Text. In one version of Acrobat, ClearScan used some strange fonts (not system fonts) that did not convert well to WORD. I was able to get a better result with Searchable Text in that case. I have not played with OCR that much, and so am just giving some comments of things I have run into.

  • How do I convert a pdf form to a word document?

    I have a pdf that has interative form fields included in it, therefore when I try to convert if to a word document the resulting document is blank.
    Any ideas on how to ensure the document is coverted?

    You can try to print and scan the file to pdf (to make it a flat pdf) and convert it to word. However, could you send me your pdf that has interactive form fields to [email protected], so I can investigate?
    Thanks.

  • Creating pdf forms from a Word doc that will need to be edited in the future

    Ok, I searched everywhere for an answer to this situation... and I want to know if there is a work around.
    Basically, I have a word document. I will use this Word document to create a application form. So I will manually create fields where needed after I convert the document to pdf.
    Now here is the issue... at some point, the Word document will have to be changed... maybe a date or an address or something. This would mean I would have to change the original Word document, re-create the form (adding all the fields again) and re-publish it.
    Can I somehow edit the text in the pdf (with the fields already in place) without having to change the original word file and re-create the form?
    Has anyone had this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there an assumption that the original Word document you use to create your form (pdf) will not be changed at a later date?
    Thanks.
    Quinn

    Ok, sorry if I haven't quite figured this out.
    When I create a pdf form, AA can detect some fields and automatically creates them. This is great. For other fields, I have to create them. No problem.
    So here I have Document A (MS Word) and my new pdf form (Document B).
    I edit Document A and change the date in the header let's say. I re-create my pdf form (Document C).
    How will Document C remember to re-associate the fields I created in Document B? Won't I have to start all over again?
    This is my question. If the answer is no, then I just have to hope that when I create the new form, AA can figure out as many fields as possible (and selection choices such as bullet, check marks, etc).
    Thanks again for your help.
    Quinn
