Just purchased Vado 3rd Gen refurb through Amazon

Just purchased Vado 3rd Gen refurb through AmazonMI ordered the 3rd Gen Vado HD on Friday, with Saturday shipping - I connected it to my PC with no problems. I ran the Vado Central application & updated the firmware/software on the Vado HD. I've had it connected to my PC overnight to charge it, but it seems that the camera turns off and on randomly while it is plugged into my PC usb port.http://www.twitvid.com/XQEWJ
In "My Computer" the icon for the Vado HD was a Vado specific icon the first time it was connected, now the icon seems to be the one that Windows uses when it cannot identify the device type that is connected. I cannot launch Vado Central manually from the Vado HD any longer, the application does not run.
I also cannot turn on the Vado HD when it is removed from the PC - it will not power on. I have put in a trouble ticket with Vado support, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this. I have the battery installed with the writing facing me when I have the cover removed.

after exchanging a couple of emails with Creative's tech support - this camera was returned to Amazon for refund. I couldn't get a replacement because I'd purchased it from Amazon.com - instead I got a refund. Apparently the issue I had where it would not power on independent of being cabled to a PC was a situation that could not be fixed with a software upgrade, and it required an RMA.

    You need to get iTunes to see the iPod.  If it does then see if it automatically ask questions/gives messages of what do do.  If it is seen but no instryction restore the iPod via iTunes on the computer.
    - Try resetting the iPod:
    Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
    button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    When selecting passwords, make sure it's one that you will NEVER forget AND no one else can figure out. 
    Old school--- > Print it out & keep in a safe place.  A place that ONLY you know about AND never forget.
    New school---> Get a password manager utility.  Highly recommend 1Password which is shareware.  Do a Google search for free password managers.

    Just purchased a 3rd generation iPad and tried to go thru the startup and connect to the house wi-fi.  Found the house wi-fi among the listings and was prompted to enter the WEP security code.  Gear wheel just keeps on turning and a connection is never established. I have tried this 4 times with the same results.  A desktop computer is connected and I easily connected a Macbook without any issues. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Try Settings, select the network name, click on the blue arrow to Forget This Network and try signing in again.

  • Can't get 20 GB 3rd gen refurb to charge initially

    Just received a 15 GB 3rd gen iPod I ordered from Overstock.com. Tried to charge it from a wall outlet last night (for 8 hours), but no charge whatsoever. Tried another outlet---same result, no charge. When I push any of the buttons on the front, I see the Apple, then the "no charge" battery symbol, and that's it.
    A couple of things are very curious about what I received:
    1) I ordered a 15 GB 3rd gen iPod, which the box confirms. The back of the actual iPod, however, says it's a 20 GB model. Not sure what to make of that.
    2) The power adapter included in the box does not appear to be an Apple product. It does not look like the adapter in the manual's illustration, which looks similar to my iBook's power adapter. Also, the manual specifies an "iPod dock connector to USB 2.0 cable," which is supposed to plug into the "iPod USB power adapter." However, while I have the correct dock connector to USB 2.0 cable, I do not have a USB poewr adapter---what I have instead is a separate power adapter (non-USB, but with the doc connection that fits the receptacle).
    I'm currently trying to charge via a different wall receptacle (at work, rather than at home), but I'm not holding out much hope. Should I make arrangements to ship this back to Overstock.com and have them send me the right adapter, or should I pursue that with Apple?

    I'm trying to download newly purchased songs to a 3rd gen nano. I receive an error msg saying the song can't be downloaded as it's not authorized to be downloaded to this computer. I've never encountered this problem before. I restored the nano to it's orig settings...and now...I can't reload many of the songs I had on the nano.

    Have you authorized the computer yet to play purchases from the iTunes store? If not, head to the Store drop down menu and choose "Authorize computer."
    If it is, try de-authorizing your computer, logging out, logging back in, and re-authorizing.

    Here are some tools to search for compatible apps (The first one is my recommendation).
    iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
    Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
    I personally havent looked for any clones of Words With Friends, but I bet you can find something.

    If a restore to factory settings did not resolve the issue, it's a likely indicator of a hardware fault, meaning you'll need to or want to set up an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar.

    The one with the smaller connector is a 4th generation ipad. There were no 3rd gen iPads with the lightning connector port.
    As far as returning... If you payed 3rd gen prices for 4th gen iPad  I'd say  keep it. If you payed 4th gen prices for both, return the 3rd gen one and ask or a 4th gen. As that's what they should have given you.

  • Trouble syncing calendar from iCloud!   I have the iPhone 4 and have been using the calendar and it is synced with icloud - at least it tells me it is.  I just an iPad 3rd gen and everything synced except for the calendar.

    A couple of things to check:
    in the Calendar app, tap on the calendars button (top left) and make sure the iCloud calendars are selected for display.
    Open the settings app, select "iCloud" and make sure Calendar is turned on.

    Because it works with the other PCs, you've ruled out a problem on the shuffle itself and a problem with the USB cable.  So that leaves some issue on the PC with Windows 7.  I don't think 64-bit versus 32-bit is a consideration.
    As a test, if you have not already, I would shut down and disconnect all other USB devices from the computer (except for standard keyboard and mouse if used).  Do this to Reset the shuffle

    Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle to a direct USB port on computer.
    If the shuffle is still not recognized by iTunes, also check other places, such as Device Manager, to see if it appears anywhere.

    I have just purchased a Vado HD 3rd gen & was looking forward to using my Sony ECM DS70p Microphone,but after a couple of tests, the recording is extremely low & barley laudable.
    The Microphone works fine on My Kodak Zi8.
    Is there an internal setting I have to adjust, or is there a fault with the Vado

    This is happening to me too, I don't know if this is an Adobe Flash Player 11.5's bug or it's just my computer. All my browsers, chrome, IE9, Fox, doesn't even load anime videos. I tried reinstalling 11.5 many times, it have no effect but I use IE9 64-bit to run the videos that couldn't run. I waited 25 min for a JW player to load an episode of anime and I'm sick of it.

  • Disappointed in the 3rd gen lens, not nearly as wide

    I've owned the 2nd Vado HD for some time now. The wide angle lens is what made this particular pocket cam very unique. And very usable. The sound quality left a lot to be desired, though.
    I just bought the 3rd gen camera and find that the lens is not nearly as wide angle! Why Creative Labs chose to downgrade a KEY FEATURE of their camera totally escapes me. So now they've got a disppointed customer...
    So they improved the sound on the 3rd gen, but diminished the lens. I'm now thinking about returning this camera. Creative Labs, are you listening?

    After using the camcorder a lot for the past few days, I can now say my opinion of it has changed.
    I am completely sastisfied with it, it's a great little camera!
