I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S. I have an iphone 4. It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password. How do I tell if the email is genuine?
Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it). -

I received an email from Verizon telling me that my account is locked and to click on a link Verizon/security to unlock it. Is this a legitimate email from Verizon. How can I find out what this means? My phone is working.
I have never heard of that before, if Verizon Wireless would do anything with your account they would be calling you (removed). In my opinion you should disregard the email.

I just received an e-mail from "Apple?" saying that they charged $599.00 to my account and if it wasn't me than give them all sorts of personal information and they will look at it I did NOT spend any money at Apple! is this a SCAM?

I just got an email that I was selected as a winner for a apple survey. Then I would receive a iMac . Is this for real?
It is a scam. Forward a copy of the email to both your internet service provider and your email service provider and explain that it is likely a phishing scam. DO not visit the site of the survey or any other link in the email. Delete the email.

My MacBook was stolen from my car in Hartford ct in June 2013. I filed a police report with the serial number. I monitored find my iPhone for several weeks with no luck. I set find my iPhone to erase my mac.
Yesterday, I received and email saying my mac was being erased. Several hours later I received an email saying my MacBook has been found along with an approximate address.
What can I do next? Can I access the camera? Can I make a message appear on the screen?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

I think it is very suspicious and I was just wondering if this a real email or do I just delete it. I have not clicked the link at all so I am not worried about that but I just think it is very weird.

Customer SupportIt's a phishing attempt to get your account and payment details, it's not from Apple - if you clicked on the links in it and entered your details then you should change your password immediately e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad and selecting 'view apple id' on the popup and signing into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com

Just moved my email from Entourage to Mail. Having real problems with getting my signatures to work properly despite sending email as Rich Text.
When adding in a small company logo to the signature, PC's / windows computers only receive signature and logo as attachments.
I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.Send it as html so the signature is an image source URL

Received emails from Verizon - Pictures do not show correctly and strange characters appear in text
When I receive emails from Verizon users, embedded images do not display inline. Each image(s) instead is displayed as a empty box with the red X boxed at the upper left. The images are correctly displayed at the very end of the email.
Additionally, dotted capital A's appears frequently within the text as well as other extraneous characters and symbols.
Do I have an incorrect setting in Live Mail (Outlook express displays the same) or is it something Verizon is doing? All of my other emails from different providers display properly.

nosewikiI have the same problem rec eiving from a friend who uses verizon. I use aol and even opened it in Internet Exporer and the same thing happened. This is a programing glitch with verizon email. I get the text in the email but the white squares with an x and no image. I have to downlod the images and open it as an attachment. The problem is you look at the image without the text which might be describing the image. Very inconvient. The person sending the emal has to enable the rich text option . I am still looking on how to do it on Verizon email but since I don't have it I am having trouble finding a solution.

Can successfully send outgoing messages.
Have completed following tasks to no avail:
1) When click on "Take all accounts online" and entering password for gmail / looking at Mail Connection Doctor: Got Green light, Mail was able to connect to the Internet. But…
"Trying to log in to this Goggle Imap account failed. Verify username and password are correct."
I have verified username and password being correct.
2) System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars typed in name, email address & gmail password and got this message.
"Unable to verify account name and password."
3) Mail> preferences>account>password. Confirmed correct password, name, email address and imap "address" Then to Advanced & confirmed correct port . Restarted computer.

LailaFound solution, Yeay! No coincidence. Mountain Lion (osx 10.8, upgraded) is not compatible with Gmail if one has 2-step verification set up on their gmail security settings.
There are 2 options to solving problem

This will take you through the process to disable 2-step security feature on gmail security page. Thank You iPatA.

This will take you through the process of assigning an "application specific password" to upgraded Mail 6.0 for successful communication between Mail 6.0 Mountain Lion while keeping a 2 step verification process if you prefer.

Did the email contain your name? Never click on a link in an email like that and do no enter any personal info after clicking in an email.
There have been quite a few people getting these emails. They are a phishing attempt to get your personal info.
