Just stops playing

My ipod is about 3 yrs. old. I have 2 new docking stations. When I put it on either DS it plays for awhile(anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour & a half) then it goes dark, won't respond. I have taken it off the DS & let it sit for a day. I have used the toggle switch to reset & get it playing again. Why is it just going off while playing?

Have you jailbroken your iPod and installed SummerBoard? I have found that SummerBoard is a horrible program. Not only was it causing this same problem for me, it also causes the battery to drain ridiculously fast because every time the iPod is locked, it reboots itself. If you do have it installed I strongly suggest you uninstall it and either get rid of applications you don't need or add more to your bottom menu so you don't need SummerBoard.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you probably don't have SummerBoard and thus I would not have a solution for you - except try restoring it through iTunes.

Does anyone know why songs (MP3's) just stop playing in iTunes? Album art won't show up and the song was played several times in the past. Is there an answer for this or will it never be resolved? Is this the fault of iTunes or the songs or the user?

iTunes 8 has gotten really fussy about the MP3 tags. Even if they played in previous versions, they might not play in itunes 8. But they might play in other jukebox porgrams like WMP or WinAmp.
See if your ID3 tags are correct using MP3 Validator.

Songs just stop playing midway

Hi,
I have a 3rd generation iPad and an iPhone 5S. With both devices my itunes library songs (CD's that were downloaded or purchased from iTunes) will just stop playing midway. I have re-set both devices twice to restore to original factory settings and re-synced with my devices with airplane mode on so that there are no distruptions. Still the songs stop midway. I have played sames songs in itunes with no issues.
iphone = 7.1.2
ipad = 7.1.2
Can anyone help?

What i had to do was remove the song from iTunes. Then re add them. Then resync the device. This was not a fun process.

Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then I normally suggest closing the Videos app via the taskbar and re-opening it, and then a reset by pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds unilt the Apple logo should appear - but as it sounds like you've alreadt tried that, then see if the spotlight search works.

While i'm riding my the iphone just stops playing music. This is only a recnet event and I think its somehow tied to recent updates

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Not sure if this will help but a reset is the first thing to try. To reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Movie just stops playing, shortly after starting it.

We started watching a Netflix movie, got 15-30 seconds into it and it just stops. It goes back to the menu screen every time - no error message though. It did it over and over, so we tried a different movie. It did the same thing, but it waited until we were about 2-3 minutes into the movie. What's going on?

I'm not sure I know what you mean when you say you did a network test and it stayed connected.
On the matter of signal strength, it is possible to have good signal strength but still experience interference.
If you play a movie from your iTunes library, start it and pause for 20 minutes or so, how much of the movie has downloaded, if you then start it playing do you experience the same problem.

IMovie audio just stops playing in the middle of creating a project.

I have several photo slideshows to which I'm adding music. Several times during the creation of a project my audio selections stop playing back with the slideshow. I am shortening and/or lengthen the music selections through the Clip Trimmer. It seems, however, if I do this many times trying to get just the right selection of the music, all audio stops playing back. It's almost as if I overload the program with too many changes before finalizing the project. Eventually, the project seems to reload and the music is back but then photos and music don't sync. Also, the music will only play in full screen mode and not in the project window. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

Try creatint a new project in iDVD and drag the QT movie into the menu being careful to avoid any drop zones. Then follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

DVD Player Just stopped Playing DVDs

Just today, the DVD player has stopped playing DVDs on my ibook. I tried putting in a multitude of diferent DVDs, but I always got the same result: the disc image would not appear in the desktop, and the DVD player would open, as if it were in standby, but it would not play. Any idea as to what may have happened/how I could remedy this?

Follow these steps and you should be on your way to watching your DVD's:
1) First, Quit DVD Player if open.
2) Eject your DVD.
2) Go to: Home > Library > Preferences.
3) Find the file called: com.apple.DVDPlayer.plist and move it to the trash.
4) Insert your DVD.
5) If necessary, launch DVD Player.

Music just stopped playing

why does Spotify stopped playing whenever i do something else on my phone like browse facebook, or read my phone messages, or open a link to read something? some other music apps like Jango lets you do whatever you want, but it keeps playing ur playlist.. i'm not even gonna mention how pitifully miniscule Spotify's music library is compared to this apps...ooops

Okay - nevermind. I was playing around with it, tried to restore it and it didn't work, then when I was just pressing random things to try and make it work, it started working again. I just pressed the top 5 circles where you can star / rate a song :S and it began working. Weird. Nevermind and thanks anyways.

Radio just stops playing

I enjoy my ATV2 a lot but the one thing that drives me crazy is when I'm listening to the radio it just stops. I've checked my router settings and other settings but everything is working correctly. Anyone else have this problem?

ALSO it will often switch to another radio station randomly, not just stop.

I bought a coldplay album today and was listening to it and a few of the songs get to about 1:15 and just stop playing and go to the next song...can anyone help?

also when i was downloading them a few had stopped for unknown reasons but i just resumed the downloads and it said they were all done and i synced the 19 songs fine.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
