Just talked to Apple about bluetooth connecting iPhone to iMac, blocked by

Apple and AT&T have blocked the possibility of connecting our iPhones to Our iMacs or any other Mac, because I guess there are things we would be able to do with them that would cut into their company merchandise. I don't know what they are because I don't think like that but The Apple tech support guy said something about iTunes merchandise being shared. So that *****.

You can connect an iPhone to a Mac via Bluetooth for Internet Tethering, but not for file transfers.
It's nothing to do with AT&T as the same restriction is in place throughout the rest of the world where AT&T isn't used.
Apple have never stated why the iPhone does not have Bluetooth File Transfer capability, but my guess is that it is to prevent easy sharing of copyrighted music and videos. Apple's sells this content for the music and movie companies and no doubt has to put restrictions in place to prevent easy copying.

  • I cannot get my iPhone 5S to make a Bluetooth connection with my iMac. I get the Message that the iMac is not supported. Huh?

I cannot seem to get my iPhone 5S to make a bluetooth connection with my iMac (OSX 10.9.1). Phone claims that the iMac is not supported. Any suggestions?

The only connection supported to your iMac is Personal Hotspot to use the iPhone's cell connection to connect your iMac to the Internet. If that's what you're trying to do, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2756
Otherwise, as Raymond said, connecting your Mac and iPhone via Bluetooth is not supported.

  • How can I talk to someone about getting my iphone repaired?

How do I get my phone repaired?  No one will talk to me and the iphone store says because the back was removed and battery disconnected, they will not repair it.  Is this true?

There are no user serviceable parts in an iPhone. If the back was
removed and the battery disconnected, your warranty was voided.
Apple will not repair iPhones that have been opened by others.
Take the iPhone back to where the back was opened - maybe they
    can fix the problem.

  • Question about bluetooth and iPhone

I want to play my songs on my Bluetooth. Technically I can, when I'm on the phone, if I access my iPod, the songs will then play on my Bluetooth (drowning out the person talking). But if I can listen to music on the bluetooth then, why not all the time? I can't hear the other person when it's playing, so that's not good. Well sometimes. Obviously I have some people I don't like hearing go on and on and on and on, which is how I found this feature out in the first place, LOL.
Anyway, anyone know how this is accomplishable? Or is it just another instance of a weird iPhone quirk. Like having a landscape key board for the internet, but not for text messaging?

when one connects a wires headset it it mutes the internal speaker

  • Bluetooth connection iPhone 4-Macbook Pro

    Hi,
I'm not being able to connect my iPhone 4 to my Mac... the computer finds the phone just fine and goes through the pairing process. But when the phone 'finds' the pairing request and asks if I want to pair and I click 'Pair', it tells me that my Mac is unsupported??!!
I don't understand this. My old Sony Ericsson phone paired with my Mac just fine.
    Help please!
    Thanks, p

These are the only supported Bluetooth profiles:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647
As you can see, file transfer, by Bluetooth, is not supported.

  • IOS 8 Bluetooth Connectivity - iPhone 5 and iPhone 6

Moved my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and Bluetooth will no longer work correctly in my Honda 2010 Accord.  Phone connects to the car but when you try to initiate a call it doesn't come through the car speakers.  The call is transferred back to the phone and will not go through the car stereo. Same issue with my new iPhone 6 so I think it's an iOS issue.  There was no problem with iOS 7

    Hi, Rick_msp.

  • Can't connect iPhone to iMac

My iPhone is connected to my macbook, so when I try to connect it to my iMac (just to charge, not even syncing) iPhone just starts constantly vibrating-connecting and disconnecting, connecting and disconnecting etc. My iTunes says "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected) .
I know that it should ask me if I can trust this computer- but I don't remember what my snswer was, so i MIGHT have (not sure) saud "don't trust". Is there a way to make iPhone trust a computer manually?

The following may have something that will help: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X
For it to be recognized as a camera (note that you may need to have a photo in the Camera roll on the phone): iOS: Unable to import photos to computer

  • Will Apple release Find My iPhone for iMac, Macbook, etc?

I think it would be a good idea for those who would want to locate their iPad, iPhone, iPod touch from their Mac, iMac or Macbook

If you login to me.com and goto "locate my iPhone" you will be able to find the location of the device.
