Just to say thanks! also 1 question.

I was amazed to get a phone call from Apple a few days back regarding a problem I encountered with my iMac saying they read this forum and wanted to study my iMac to help improve production and troubleshoot. As they wanted to take my old iMac they are giving me a new 21.5" replacement which I really happy with as that solves my problems with the old machine right out. As I never see many good feedback threads here I decided to just say thanks for all the help with my old model (of which I'm still on as it will take a week to get the new one) and I hope not to be posting problems anymore... I really hope lol.
Now for the question, seeing as I have to replace my iMac Apple told me to recover my account from my TM drive using Migration Manager when starting the new iMac up, however the Apple guy said some programs may have issues transferring so I was wondering what these would be as I'm not sure how many license keys I have left on certain software to reinstall it.
So would CS3 and Office 2008 transfer ok as these are my most used apps? I'm not too fused if my virus scanner doesn't transfer though as its not that useful and I'm not even sure if I need it.
Thanks!

Yer I asked the guy on the phone as I was abit worried that my replacement iMac could come with problems but he said all 21.5" models seem to be ok with no problems and only the 27" are driving up the wall. Wonder why? the 27" doesn't have that many different components than the 21.5". Shame really.
Good to hear I can transfer my account well from my TM drive. I don't have time to be re-installing all my apps when I don't have half the dmgs anymore lol.

  • This is not really a question. I just wanted to say thank you.

I just want to say "Thank you." to Phillip for answering my question about the programs that downloaded when I downloaded Firefox. I could find any place else to say thank you, so I'm doing it here. Thank you, Phillip.

Closing thread because it is not a question.

hi just wanted to say thanks received hp photosmart yesterday in perfect conditon am really happy with product just worked out every product ive got is all hp. thanks kylee

Cannon has reasonable ink price and usage and you have the
ability to replace the print head if it ever clogs (that's
what always happened with the Epson's).
Actually, Epson's print head design is very different from Canon and HP. They put the "head" in printer not cartridge. This way you can keep re-using print head and save "resource", but it also means the print head nozzles would clog by dried ink or dirt. Indeed, the Epson cartridge is not cheap, it is because its ink can produce better quality of prints.
The alternitive way is to use Continuous Ink System, check this out -
    http://www.InkRepublic.com
If you clog the print head, windex may do the trick, if not, try InkRepublic's cleaning solution too
    http://www.inkrepublic.com/iRemove.asp
I suspect InkRepublic's cleaning kit, i-Remove, is to "suck up" the dirt or dried ink. This is different from other cleaning kit. They have very detailed installation information on their site:

  • Im trying to download itunes and it just says thank you and no downlaod comes up please help

I had to re download itunes and i am on apple website but when i choose download it just says thank you for downloading and no download occurs does anyone know why?

What worked for me was to clear the browser cache and then try downloading again.  Also, give it some time to download.  I noticed that when the file was finally downloading, I still got the "thank you for having downloaded" page, even though the download was nowhere near complete yet.
(It didn't help to try downloading on IE instead of Firefox.  Got the same "thank you" message on IE even though nothing was downloaded.  I double-checked my downloads folder and I'm sure nothing was downloaded)

  • Just wanted to say thanks to Pierre

    Hi all,
I haven't posted in ages, but I wanted to say thanks to Pierre for doing such a great job of packaging kde4.4.  I'm one of those annoying hold-outs who was still clinging to kde3, but the number of things that weren't functioning on my system because of that were getting out of hand, and after looking at the previews for 4.4 decided I'd switch once it was out.  I really appreciate the extra work that went into modularizing everything - I'm not afraid of "bloaty megapackages" but it's very nice to be able to choose exactly which packages I want from a larger group.  FWIW, my upgrade went smoothly, and other than very few crashes here and there, I'm enjoying 4 immensely.
I also wanted to say thanks to the arch artwork folks - the wallpapers and icon theming are great!
Please save the haterade for other threads.

Yay, BIG thanks to Pierre, I'm not around for sooo long, but it looks like he's doing an amazing job around KDE here !

  • Just writing to say thank you for the update

I'm an iPhone 4 user and I just wanted to say I'm very pleased thus far with the iOS 7 update.
I know no one will read this, but wanted to say thanks anyway.
It doesn't change my life, but you have made some helpful improvements.
To whomever might be listening, thanks

I like the new update as well.  I hate to see so many people having issues with their updates but I've updated 3 iPhone5's and 3 iPads and I have had zero issues with any of them.
There are few minor bugs to work out but it's a big change. Clearly not everyone will like the change but man, to see so much belly-aching when screenshots and videos have been out for months about the new 'look & feel' of iOS7, it's almost ridiculous.
    Carry on Apple!
