Just tried to update itunes and it failed - and I can't install the latest version either - it fails too. Nice one Apple.

Opened up itunes this morning and it said there was an update. So I hit the Install new version button. Gets just about all the way through and says there was an error.
I tried opening itunes from the shortcut on my desktop and says that it's pointing to nothing.
Downloaded the latest version of itunes and it installs all the way untill it gives me the finger .. I mean ... this screen shot:
Nice one Apple. "All your music. All in one place" .. but you can't access it. HAHAHAHA
Any one else finding this problem and a way around it?
Cheers,
Jeremy

I have a macbook pro 17" 1,1 model (early 2006), but I do not have installation discs.
If I order a replacement, what version is it?
Can I install the latest version 10.8.4 in 1,1 model?
If it is possible, what I have to do to get it done? And the price?
    Thanks

MacBookPro1,1 can only run Mac OS X 10.6.8, as it has got a 32-bit processor.
If you order replacement DVDs, Apple will send you DVDs with the original Mac OS X version that came with your Mac, in this case, Mac OS X 10.4.5.
If you decide to get replacement DVDs, Apple will only charge you for the delivery

  • Can't install the latest version of iTunes.

This has been happening for months.
I haven't been able to install the current versions of Quicktime either.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • HELP! i can't install the latest version of itunes.

.i just uninstalled the last version i had..and then tried reinstalling it and it still won't work...it says Error> microsoft.vc80.crt.type=''win32''

we're sorry but Windows PowerShell failed to install
Hmmmm. Googling indicates it's not an especially uncommon issue, but I'm not sure of the best way to proceed with it.
I think it'd be best if we get you on the radar screens of Windows Update specialists.
Try posting over at the Windows Update forums at Microsoft Answers:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_update
In your post there, list the updates that are not installing and the error message codes that you're getting for each one. Also mention the error message you get when running the Fixit. (Provide a link to the page with the Fixit on it, so they know which particular Fixit you've been having trouble with.)
If the Microsoft Answers folk get your Updates installed for you, can you then install the new iTunes version?

Copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  Also copy any synced information that is not in your iTune library from your old computer to your new one (such as contacts, calendars, any synced photos, etc.).

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
    At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."  When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 1114".  I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. Are you sure it's not 6.1.6?  If it is, that is the latest iOS version that will work on a 4th generation iPod Touch.  Later versions require a 5G iPod which has twice as much RAM.
