Just turned my phone off to restart it & now will not turn back on! HELP

I have an iPhone 4 and my facebook app hasn't been updating this morning like others so I thought I'd try to delete the app, restart my phone, and redownload it..deleted facebook..turned phone off regularly & waited 30 seconds tried to turn phone on & it's stuck on the black screen w apple..I have already tried doing the reset by holding both home and lock botton & it flashes black and then I let go when the apple pops back up and still doesn't do anything more. I've plugged it in my computer and my computer isn't recognizing anything plugged in..also just now the screen just went black (the apple just went away) but the phone was off when I tried to push a button I plugged it into computer with it off & were back to the apple just sitting there. Any ideas or recommendations? The closest apple store is over an hour away

    Hi Heva79!
You may want to try simply restarting your phone to see if you are able to get past that page after a restart. Instructions for doing this can be found here:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If you are still experiencing this issue after a restart, you may want to attempt the steps for a reset as outlined in that same article. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

That link is for the flasher tool, you'll need that to repair the device..
Here are the steps.. you'll need to follow them pretty accurately:
    turn phone off
    remove battery
    put battery back in
    plug USB cable into computer
Press and hold down the 'u' button on the keyboard.. don't let it go
    plug USB cable into phone
wait until the Nokia logo appears, a little USB icon should appear in the top right corner of the screen. the backlight MAY NOT turn on at all
    release the 'u' button
run the flasher tool: flasher-3.5 --enable-rd-mode
The flasher prog should run for a moment then finish. If it DOES NOT and sits waiting for suitable device, STOP.. this is bad..
Ok, if all that went well, now for the repair bit
unplug the USB from the phone
The phone will power off or reboot
If the phone turned off, turn it on with the power button
let the phone boot up.. it may take some time.. some reports say you might need to enter the date/time again..
If it doesn't boot STOP.. something has gone bad..
Ok, if the phone booted ok, finish off
Turn the phone off with the power button
    remove battery
    reinsert battery
press and hold the 'u' button
    insert USB cable into phone
wait until the Nokia logo appears as before
    release the 'u' button
run the flasher tool again: flasher --disable-rd-mode
wait for flasher to finish.. if it sits waiting for suitable device STOP.. something has gone wrong.. it shoudl run for a few seconds then stop.. anything else is bad
    Remove USB cable from phone
phone might restart or turn off.. if it turns off, turn it on..
Hopefully you're fixed and up and running..
Let  us know how you get on
Anyone else reading this, don't just follow the instructions if you're unsure.. ASK someone first.. This proceedure is subject to change in the future when new firmware is released and tools are updated

  • Imac told me to restart and now will not boot up?

    Hi,
I have an imac 20" intel (not the new aluminium one but the white version) which I have had for a few months. Today i was using it and all was normal until I had a grey swoosh thing come doen over the screen from top to bottom and then a black box telling me in several different languages that i had to re-start my mac by holding down the power button. I did this but now my imac will not turn on at all. When I hit the power button, all that happens is the white light at the bottom of the screen lights up and stays on constantly?
I have tried booting up in Safe mode (by holding down shift), single user mode (apple + s) and tried booting off of the install disc ( by holding down C) but nothing happens.
I have even tried mounting the hard drive on to my powerbook using target disc mode but the imac never gets past the stage where the light comes on - I do not even hear the start up chime?
I am thinking my hard drive has packed up but am not sure? any ideas?
    Can anyone help?
    thanks
    Steve

    Hello Steve,
Unfortunately you suffered a Kernel Panic. The best guide I know troubleshoot them is this (link)one by Apple Discussion's user Dr Smoke.
It's worth disconnecting all 3rd party devices during inv and removing any RAM you've added recently.
    Good luck.

  • Macbook restarts radmomly, now will not not get past boot.

My friend's macbook which is one of the older style white ones with ddr2 ram would restart randomly at times. I replaced old Fijitsu the hd last May when it died with a 320GB WD Caviar blue series. It would boot up fine but if you tried to access the internet or something it would come up and say that the computer had to restart.
I ran the Apple hardware test from the first macbook install disk and it came up with a 4mem error code after 11 seconds. I figured it was the ram so I took out the 2x1gb of G.Skill ram that was in there and replaced it with 2x512 ram that was in there stock. Now when you turn it on it sits with the Apple logo loading and after about 5 minutes it shuts down again. After that I reset the pram and still the same thing.
I inserted the 10.5 install disk and it won't let me install the OS, it says that 10.4 or higher was not detected when there is 10.5 on it already. I went to the disk utility in the installer and ran the disk check and it came up with a bunch of errors. I erased it and repartitioned it and then went back to the installer and it still won't let me install, at the main installer page the continue button is grayed out. I also tried loading one of the time machine backups which it sees when the time machine hd is hooked up and asks to select a restore point but after it selects that it calculates the space needed and eventually goes back to the blank screen where it asks you to search for a time machine device.
thanks, if you need to know more info let me know.

I am certain that I have the right ram installed. The original Samsung ram was DDR2 512MB PC2 5300, and the stuff I replaced it with originally was G.Skill DDR2 PC2-5300 CL4D 4-4-4-12. The Samsung does not have the timeings listed on it. I originally bought 4 sets of these from Newegg and installed 3 of them in computers at work and then the one in my friend. All the others are working flawlessly so IDK why this would be different.
But the same issues are there with the original Samsung ram in it.

    Hi there 8472kck!
I have some information for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. That information can be found right here:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
and that information comes from this article:

my phone just turned off and will not go back on. my top lock button has been broken for over a year. Help! I have tried plugging it into wall unit and computer but my home button just doesnt do anything!

It seems that year long delay from having your lock button repaired has finally caught up to you.  Sounds like you have some damage to your phone that requires repair/replacement.  Take it to a Apple store or contact Apple Tech Support.

  • My Iphone 4 just shut off and now will not turn back on.

My Iphone 4 just shut off and now will not turn back on. I was listening to music, it started to make a static sound then shut off and will not turn back on. What do I do?

    Battery dead?
Plug it into the charger that came with the iPhone and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it plugged in for 20 minutes. Then while still plugged in reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off.  It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button together while being plugged into the computer.  What do I do?

I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off. It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button at the same time, while being plugged into the computer? What do I do?

Plug it into power for at least 15 minutes.  If it doesn't automatically come on, try a reset... press the home and sleep (on/off) buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Why wont apple put a delete all button for your email?? i think that should be the next update.

we need to be able to delete all messages at once, say someone has 1500 emails there not going to want to go 1 by 1, there should be a delete all button an except button and then another except to make sure if they really want to delete it they can.
