Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

I can download Itunes, but it wont open!!!
Okay so, I lost my first iPod nano, & 4 x-mas, my mother brought me the second generation iPod nano. Clearly, it has been 6 months since x-mas & all that i have been able to do with it is charge it & play games because i cant get any music on there. I downloaded the new version of iTunes but when i go to open, the icon changes into another icon & changes right back to the original icon. Does anyone know how i can stop this from happening so that i can enjoy my music?

Whenever I try to open my itunes the window pops up but then is followed by a message saying:
"Runtime Error!
This application has reguested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
Please help guysSome users here have reported that one cause of the Runtime error is the Apple Software Update, so you might try removing that and see if that fixes the problem. Removing the Software Update shouldn't affect iTunes itself (though as with any software maintenance operation, it would be wise to make a backup of your purchased tracks before you try it), you just won't get automatic update checking.

While installing the latest updates to iTunes, the istallation stopped and Windows sent me a Runtime error (R6034) and suggests that I contact the applications support team. A second message appears to tell me that I should reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error1114) Any suggestions?
I had the identical problem with Runtime Error R6034s starting this week (on 1/22/2014) when the latest iTunes update installed. Tried deleting and reinstalling iTunes several times, but that didn't work. Someone suggested deleting the update. I found the "Apple Application Support" (93.2MB) update installed on 1/22, deleted it, reinstalled iTunes, and now iTunes seems to work OK. I don't get the repeated Runtime Error R6034 and Error 7 message, have been able to access the store, and play my saved music OK. My only concern is that the update will reappear and cause a repeat problem.

Am assuming that the upgrade didn't complete which was what happened to me and that now you get this message everytime you start Windows. I use Windows7
Apple has published a fix at http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3074.
In it they suggest the issue may be caused by a bad installation of a version of Microsoft's .NET Framework.
Find this somewhat preposterous for the simple reason that all was well until the attempt to load the new upgrade of iTunes. For Apple's suggestion to hold true it can only mean that none of my other applications make any use of MS.NET Framework, which I very much doubt.
Performed the fix for Windows7 prescribed by Apple, namely downloaded and ran Microsoft's .NET Framework taking the 'Repair' option when prompted. When Repair completed successfully you have to shut down and restart Windows to make the repaired software available. Did this and on restart lo and behold the R6034 message appeared again.
Did a search of the Registry for 'R6034' but not found.
Being unsure what was issuing the message deleted iTunes and restarted the system.
Again lo and behold the R6034 message appeared again.
Had been away from my computer for several weeks, and as the only upgrade actioned since my return was the problem iTunes carried out a Sydney Restore. This got rid of the R6034 message, everything worked fine, and when I shut down Microsoft automatically reinstalled all its upgrades after the Restore point.
Then moved to put back the iTunes upgrade prior to the current one, and ITunes stopped me in my tracks by halting the reinstall because "A later version of the program had been installed".
Appreciate that this doesn't do much for you Barry, but as I see the iTunes upgrade as the problem, I'm hoping firstly that someone from iTunes will read this and firstly, provide more support than it has to date, and secondly, for those who want to pass up on the upgrade allow them to reinstall the previous version of ITunes.

Is the music actualy gone from your hard drive ?
If it is still there then under Preferences, Advanced Preferences is the iTunes Media folder location pointed in the right place? If not click on Change and repoint it to your files.
To Stop seeing all the icloud streaming versions again in Preferences, Store and uncheck the Show iTunes in the cloud purchases.

I cant get my iphone 5 to be compatible with my mac book pro. When I plug the iphone 5 in it tells me that i need a newer version of itunes 10.7 and I currently have 10.6. I checked for updates in my itunes and it says i dont have any. So i have gone to the itunes website to try and redownload itunes which i believe it 11.7. When I try and download that version it tells me the software on my computer doesn't suppor that version. I try to update my software and it says there is not software updates available right now. Is there anyway I can get my iphone 5 to synce to my itunes?
In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard, preferably the full 10.6.8 combo updater. -

I have tried to download itunes onto my desktop computer, the download went fine but once it ended a window pops up and tells me the following..'' this insallation package could not be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can open it, or contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid installer package''... what does this mean?

Updated to Yosemite but iphoto wont open
my iphoto has a white round circle with a cross over it, when i try and open it, it says that i need to update iphoto. however when i go onto the app store it says my iphoto is already updated to 9.6 i went on the iphoto info and it says that i have 9.5. any help? what do i do?!!?
You may have more than one copy of iPhoto installed, perhaps on a connected drive. and your Dock icon may still be linked to the old version.

Delete the old iPhoto version from the Applications folder, but don't empty the trash. Disconnect all external drives, also your backup drives, then launch the App Store again, sign in with your Apple ID, then try again to download iPhoto from your Purchases page. If you do not see it there, download it from the main App Store page "Featured". -

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.
As the music came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there and in your backup copy of your computer. -

Litterly 15 Mins ago all of my music was present. I - in fact - just finished using it to play a song. Then I got a window that popped up saying that my iTunes is in need of an update. So I update it then it said it was all up to snuff...
So I go back into my iTunes to continue using it
but now It's ALL GONE!!!!
