Just updated to 10.10.2 0n Mac book pro noisy fan

I have just updated to 10.10.2 and the cooling fan is now running constantly and noisely, anybody else have this issue?

When I try to open any of my adobe programs I get a pop-up that says, To open “Adobe Photoshop CS5,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet. The HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer I just bought is not compatible with my Mac Book Pro. What do I need to do?

I recently purchased an HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer and it is not compatible with the version of the operating system on my mac book pro. I am currently running on OS X 10.4.11 and the printer is compatible with v10.5 or higher. What can I do to update the operating system on my Mac Book Pro?

10.5 will be harder to find & more expensive, I think I'd go for 10.6

I have apple ID but after signing into that account too, it does't allow to update. None of the updates for these application are show in software update of late, but it flashes in the dock where app store is . Kindly suggest.

I have lost count of the number of posts here, in addition to my direct experience with my clients, where FileVault is discovered to be the main cause of whatever symptoms are being experienced. I refuse to turn it on on any of my systems and will always, always advise against turning it on to anyone who asks me.
I would recommend that you initially back up all your data to external media (either external hd or DVD-R) and then attempt to turn off FileVault. I purposely used the word attempt because, more often than not, even this can cause issues. If you are unable to turn FileVault off, indeed even if successful, I would recommend that you carry out an Erase and Install using your MacBook Pro's system disks.
In short, my message is ---- stay away from FileVault.
If you require to protect your files then the best way to achieve this is via Disk Utility and creating an encryted image. More details here:

iPad and iPhone have no direct connection to TC.. they backup to iTunes.. which the computer will backup via TM.

I just went and looked at the 15" mac book pro at CompUsa, and the machine was so hot around the trackpad area I was shocked. That was a bit of a turnoff for me.
Should I just get the smaller Mac Book? (altho, I hate the shiny screen.)
Is it best to just wait until January and hope for some better machines??

I agree with Brody. Rumor sites have been proven wrong, very wrong in teh past, often. What hapepned to that ipod video that was supsoed ot be otu on teh 30th aniversary, abd before that at soemthign else, then at wwdc? OH yea, it didnt show up, at all
Also as for his 'price comparison' thing it is the same with all machines. The Pro has better video (much better.. though could be better), a better display amonth other small features. It is roughly 800$ more. Now, compare a dell nspiron E1705 - code du0 2.0ghz, 100gb, 1gb, integrated intel graphic chipset, 17" priced at $1499 to a XPS M1710 - codeduo 2,.0ghz, 1gb, 100gb, 17uxga+ display and 512 7900gtx at $2915. Non-integrated graphics, and a good chipset though the 7900gtx does destroy the punny junky x1600 (so take off say 400$ to be more fair) the price diffrence is roughly the same when teh better display si thrown in as to apples 12 vs 15 with higher res and better viewing angle. A decent video chipset for laptops are way more then a regular video card when changing it, displays also don't come cheap.
If you need the power of the mbp for say motion or more professional use on the road (try using a 12 for professional graphic dev or other fields it is more then annoying... i used a ibook prior ot my pb and couldnt do it, i returned it wiht in 2 weeks), powering a better diaplay and whatbe it else i'd suggest getting one. if you do not need it and can live with teh 12" get the macbook.
In the end it is yoru choice, but as we've said don't go by rumors of if or when better cpu will come out as technology advances rapidly unfortunatly, espcilly when there is no officialo word as to if they will go to it.

I've just replaced my stolen windows with a Mac Book Pro. I already had a i tunes account with my old laptop, I can log in to my account no problem using i tunes that came with the Mac, but i cant see any of my purchases, is there any way I can re download my purchases or do I have to purchase everything again.

As of now, there is no way to re-download any purchases that you have made from the iTunes store (except maybe apps I think, but I know it definitely cannot be done with Music or Video).
The iTunes store purchases right now best resemble if you bought a physical copy of an album. If you buy a song or album, that download you get is like your hard copy. This is why Apple and people often recommend backing up your purchases to an external hard drive or a DVD if possible.
However, if you still have all of your media on a portable device such as an iPod/iPhone/iPad, then you can still transfer your purchases to your new computer. When you plug in a device that already has iTunes Store Purchases on it, it will ask if you want to transfer purchases from your device to your computer. Note though, that this will only transfer items that were purchases from the iTunes Store. Any other songs you had by other means you'll have to find again.
Would you be able to do this? if so, this is your best bet.

Crooked Mac book pro Key on keyboard

Just today when i was cleaning my Mac book Pro i noticed that 2 of the ks on the keyboard were out of alignment, its not a problem because its working fine but i dont want it to come out in the future or something just to be on the safe side does any one know how to fix it? It would be nice if you guys could give some how to's before going to the Bestbuy store or Apple store.

Sounds like you need a Mac Chiropractor...the keys are designed to snap into place--it can be fixed in a matter of seconds. Having said that, if you don't know how to do it, then bring it to Apple. I second the opinion of Best Buy's Geek Squad. You may find a winner, but you may not. At Apple, they are all competent.
