Just updated to 3.6, now crashes when I attempt to open any site

Right after I updated to 3.6 I got an alert that I should update my Flash reader as well. Did that. Now every time I open Firefox , use Google search or try to open any Web site, the home page comes up and then
Firefox crashes. When I try again I get a "This is embarrassing" window and that Firefox cannot pick up tabs or windows and to close what I think might be causing the problem, but i think it's 3.6. Can I go back to the earlier version that worked?

Set the pref browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Why do the applications in iWork now crash when I attempt to open them?

I use to have iWork 09 working successfully for years (having generated a goodly number of documents) but now that I've moved up to MacOS 10.7.2, when I try to open any of its application, I get no further than a crash report generated to send to Apple. What seems to be a brief diagnostic overview says:

I have tried to reload it (after deleting the existing version, its plist in preferences and application support folder) - even bought a new copy of iWork; it loads successfully (as it did in the past) and sets the appropriate icons in the Dock; but attemptimng to open any component now produces only the crash report. I cannot interpret the above message; the MobileMe part has no relevance (I don't use it), and I don't know what the rest refers to. I have had an egregious amount of frustration ever since moving to Lion, including a failure of Time Machine to do its automatic backups (needing restarting the machine to allow it to do any backups; it said it couldn't find its folder); I eventually got past this latter problem by fully erasing the Mini and reloading Lion (the regrettable issue of having to download it through a wireless broadband connection and its effects on the internet plan). One assumes that something through all this mucking about has corrupted something somewhere for the operation of iWork. Any ideas on where to look? Most of the other applications, with one manageable tweak or another now seem to operate.

I am most grateful to you, Neil from Oz. To embarrass myself, I'll have to admit that I did not think of that. I had taken advantage of all the software updates that pop up from time to time (I have the facility set for looking once a week), but that to upgrade iWork did not show up, and, as I say, I simply did not think of such a possibility - and the error message in the crash report more or less indicated to me that the problem was not for the computer-illiterate!
Again, my sincere thanks: I implemented the download and now have the pleasure of these applications again (to say nothing of access to the folders-full of documents they created for me over the years).

I suggest the easy stuff first:
1) quite Numbers and restart Numbers
2) reboot the computer
After that try opening the same document in another user space

My CC crashes when I try to open any application

My CC crashes when I try to open any application - this has been happening for about a week. I installed CC over two months ago and now I cannot use any of the creative suite applications. I don't want to uninstall becuase I am afraid I won't know how to reinstall. what do you suggest. help!

how would I go about opening anything in a new user account? I purchased CC under my email and password that i have been using with apple for years. I don't have another email to use, and I don't want to change my subscription. Is that what you are suggesting?

Why is Photoshop crashing when I try to open any file bigger than 5mb?

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why Photoshop crashes after I attempt to open any .psd file bigger than 5 mb. I've tried getting rid of any unvalidated fonts, deleting setting files, etc. But the larger the file, Photoshop simply crashes. Is there anything I'm overlooking? Here's my crash report:

Yes, you've overlooked several updates.
1) You haven't installed the updates to Photoshop. The current version is 12.0.2.
2) You haven't installed the updates to the OS (specifically some that reduce how often you crash in the OS font code, like the crash you just posted). The current version is 10.6.6.

ITunes crashes when I attempt to open my iPhone within iTunes

Since updating iTunes and installing the latest iphone software iTunes crashes when I attempt to open my iphone in the device panel. I therefore cannot perform any manual functions on my phone through iTunes. I'm running 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6.
Any suggestions?

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

Photoshop CS3 is now closing when I attempt to save any file on our network.
This has been occuring for the past few months. I have 8 years with this not happening on this machine and this network. I now have to save to my desktop, then move the file to the correct folder, re-open it and work from there. Any ideas to fix this??

This workflow might be working for you however it is not the ideal or correct workflow.

Photoshop is not supported while working with network drives. I would recommend an external or a local drive instead.

I have just updated my iPhone and now none of the apps will open!

I just updated my iPhone 3GS to the most recent update but now when I try and open any apps that I have purchased they only open for a brief moment before returning to the starter screen. I would just restore the factory setting but I don't want to loose all the apps that I have paid for. Anyone got any ideas?

Crashing when i try to open any file in pages (also keynote and numbers)

I just buy and install iWork 09. Everything about the installation seems to be ok but when i try to open any file, new or created, i get a crash program with the legend "Pages quit unexpectedly". I tried to reinstall 2 or 3 times but it doesn't work.
Any help?

I'm interested in the solution since I'm having the same problem after a reinstall and update Pages to 4.0.4

Pages crashes when I try to open any file

Hi, since I upgraded to Mavericks my Mac does a lot of funny things. After doing the latest upgrade of pages I now have the problem, that the program crashes whenever I try to open any file.
I tried already restart, empty font cache with secure system start and reparing volume with disc utilities.
Does anyone have the same problem or even better - a solution?

Thanks PeterBreis0807, I tried a lot of things in the last few days and what helped in the end was deleting Pages completely and then re-installing the whole program. Which is quite odd, taking into consideration that I just updated it a week ago.

Flash CS5.5 crashes when I try to open any files. New ones as well as saved .fla's.

Yesterday I was working in Flash cs5.5 and out of nowhere it stopped responding. So I quit and turned it back on again. Okay, it loaded fine, the screen came up, prompting me to create a new file or open one. I tried opening my old file and Flash stopped responding. Worried that it might be a corruption in my file, I opened Flash up again, this time to try and create a new file. When I clicked Actionscript 3.0, the same thing happened. It stopped responding.
I've tried a few differnet things. From rebooting the computer to deleting the preferences even to uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing seems to fix this. Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Oddly enough, I opened up Flash again, today, just to see if it was still the same, and it had worked. Everything seemed normal, I opened a new document and started working. Then, out of nowhere it stopped responding again. So I waited for it to respond, it didn't. Update: I tried the cleaner, as you'd suggested. Followed all the steps, but to no avail. Think it may have something to do with my machine, and less with the software?

My taskbar crashes when I try to open any documents folder. (Windows Explorer, My Library, Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Dropbox folder, Skydrive, every folder!)

Hello. I don't know if this is the right category for my problem but here it goes.
Since yesterday, I've been trying to open Windows Explorer folder (which include Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, Downloads, Computer, Dropbox, Skydrive, etc.) and as a result my taskbar and my background crashes, the folder doesn't open and then my taskbar
and bg goes back to normal. I searched the problem in other forums but the responses are from last year and this is happening since 29/03/2014 (yesterday) so I don't know if this is a new thing or old. I called my sister because she has this same laptop and
asked her if this is happening to her also and she said it is so I'm starting to think that W8.1 needs an update. Idk :(. We have a Dell Inspiron 15 and it's brand new ! I ordered mine last month.

Hi,
Did you make any change to your system recently? To fix this problem, firstly, you can try to use
SFC /scannow command to fix it for test.
If problem persists, just try to boot your system into Safe mode to test if this problem occures. If problem occures, It would be better to use system resotre to revert your system to a former timepoint state.
To find the reason about this problem, you can use Process Monitor
to capture Explorer.exe when open folder or library.

Firefox will not open and keeps crashing when I attempt to open it, why?

I have had several crash reports sent to me by firefox and I have not gone to any sites that I don't normally go to. I want to know why it keeps to this and what I need to do to get this situation fixed. I have sent crash reports and uninstalled/reinstalled this program and nothing has been fixed. I need to use this site so that I can use my bookmarks and do my work.

How to Enter iPhone Recovery Mode
1) Connect the USB cable used to sync your device to your computer, but do not connect it to your iPhone.
2) Turn your iPhone off by holding down the sleep/hold button in the top right corner until the slider appears at the top. Slide it. If your phone won't respond to that, hold the sleep/wake button and the home button together until the screen goes dark.
3) When the phone is off, hold down the home button and connect the USB cable (which should still be attached to your computer) to the dock connector. The iPhone will turn on and display the Apple logo. Keep holding the home button until the iTunes logo/USB cable appear on the screen. You can let it go then. The phone is now in recovery mode.
4) If the red empty battery icon appears onscreen, let the phone charge for a few minutes and then restart this process.
5) When the phone is in recovery mode, a window will pop up in iTunes saying that the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.

Just updated to 3.6, now crashes when I attempt to open any site
