Just updated to 5.3 via CC, having problems
My windows 7 machine has a i7 920 processor with 12 gigs of RAM. My work flow is to import 3 bracketed RAW files into LR. I blend the editted shots to a blended single which opens as a TIFF in Bridge. I open the file in camera RAW from Bridge to make small edits then go into Photoshop CC for crop, vertical straightening etc. Since the upgrade when I try to make adjustments to the original RAW files in LR 5.3, any slider movement causes LR to hang. Doesn't hang for long but it is very frustrating. Also the defringe tool in LR 5.3 causes large areas of grey along edit areas. For example along tree limbs against a blue sky, when I remove small amounts of purple fringeing it wraps the limbs with a gray outline. Even with the amount slider set at 1, I can still see the gray outline. Don't really have time to deal with this now as I am on a deadline. Is it possible to do a system restore to before the update? Any other way to go back to the previous version?
Problems are relative...I use the latest iPhoto without problem. However, I do not know anything about Aperture ( I do not use it).

To free up hard drive space the best bet is to move data files that you don't need access to all the time. Likely candidates are music, video, and photos. Things like word processing and spreadsheet files can also be moved but they tend not to be very large and so don't free up much space. The problem with moving the above mentioned files is that iTunes and iPhoto need to know where the files are stored.
Here's an article explaining how to move the iTunes folder. You can move the iPhoto library using the Finder but there is a slight complication. Start iPhoto, open the Preferences and click on the Advanced tab. The first option is "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". If this option is checked, copy the iPhoto library to your external folder (drag it from the Pictures folder to your external drive) and then delete it from your Picture folder. If this option is not checked, it is a bit more complicated and we'll need to talk a bit. -

As Retired Engineer indicated, you will need to install Snow Leopard first. After you install Snow Leopard, you need to go into Software Update and perform the updates. 10.6.6 will install the App Store. You should continue to update to 10.6.8 before purchasing and installing Lion from the App Store.
Be sure your machine meets the minimum requirements. Basically, any Mac with a Core 2 Duo processor or later and at least 2GB of RAM (but 4 is highly recommended). If you have a first generation MacBook Pro with a Core Duo, you will not be able to upgrade to Lion. -

Just update BOM usage qty via ECN

I face a trouble on BOM update via ECN. for example,
in product trial run phase, I created a BOM and set component qty as 1ea, and scarp as 50%. meanwhile, I also know that, after 3 month, (for example: in 1st July) the scarp will be update into 3% because the product will going to mass production, so, I also created a ECN, and just set scarp as 10% at that time.
However, some time later (maybe 2 weeks), customer ask us to change the component qty as 2ea. so, I create a ECN to update the BOM.
in 1st July, the bom was changed and set the component qty as 1ea, scarp as 50% due to my pervious the ECN. I hope the component did not be changed.
Hi, everyone please tell me, can I just set a ECN just update scarp instead of whole BOM item?

You can create a separate Change number or use the same change number to make any BOM changes,it may be a quantity
change or else scrap % change etc.
In my understanding it does not mean we have to use the change number only to change the component or it's quantity.

Just updated to 10.8.1 and having trouble opening apps that work fine under 10.8
Just updated to 10.8.1 and can no longer use Dragon Dictate 2.5.2 (It won't open) or Alarm Clock 2.4.5 (Won't open) or LineIn 2.0.3 (not opening) and I haven't even tried other applications besides my browser.
Very frustrating as I have never had a problem with an update before. Also just noticed that my Time Machine seems to be stuck at 99 MB of 170 MB update.
Is it possible to go back by Time Machine to before I updated to 10.8.1?Thank you. This solved everything but the DragonDictate issue. Every time I try to open it it just gives me the swirling lollipop of colors. Which makes me to have to force it to quit.
It was supposed to be ineffective with 10.8 (But it worked fine) but now with 10.8.1 if there is ever an upgrade how can I get it if it won't even open?

No one should have to reset network settings, I have the same issue and I have a celluar package, it's slow using either one--but my IMac is running just fine so don't blame the network--blame the testers and my Internet speed is grease lightning so that's not it either--too many issues, like Facebook randomly disappearing while open, choppy animation, slow to load programs.
It's too **** bad they made it so you cannot roll back to IOS6 until these bugs are worked out--shoulda waited. Shoulda, coulda, woulda..not helping me now AND my friend bought his mini the same time I did in April and we are not even in the same city and he has the same exact problems!! -
i have a 120 gig ipod classic,i noticed i was having problems,with itunes taking longer to sync,after spending almost 2 hours up loading all my movies music,to my ipod,then after all was done i would get an error 69 message,in the middle of the sync,then all my music would be on there some movies,music worked fine,most movies didnt except for a few,that happened once,most times after syncing there was no music movies, on the ipod,,then i would reconnect to itunes,tried to restore my ipod was taking forever,then when i clicked restore,would take longer,very annoyed,think its the new itunes causing problems for me,hoping i wont have to purchas up dates,done that before,paid 450 3 years ago for the ipod,paid for lots of music,movies,its not very old,but to apple the thing is probebly considered ancient,any help would be cool,
Read this Apple Support Article on handling error 69 it may be a bad corrupted file.
Or worst case the iPod Hardisk need to be check, as you are saying that it is taking longer than usual.
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.

Is anyone else experiencing trouble playing video in itunes? Video intermittenly pauses and also plays with not audio. Video used to play fine. This problem only started since I upgraded to version 7. I have not used itunes since then because I couldn't watch anything without experiencing these problems. I was waiting for the next version to come out and hoped it would fix the problems I was having, but no such luck. I just upgraded to the latest version, version 11 and I'm still having the same problems. Anyone else having these same issues and if so, any solutions?

From your description of the problem, it sounds like you have a hardware/camera defect. My recommendation is to return your imac to where-ever you bought it, and have them deal with, or replace your computer with one that functions as it is supposed to. You should not have to suffer with this situation on a new computer, although it does sometimes happen.

Update to 10.6.3 and having problems returning from sleep mode

Updated yesterday to 10.6.3 and having issues returning the laptop from sleep mode.
I close the lid and the laptop goes to sleep but when opening the laptop I just get a blank screen. I can hear the hard drive start up but nothing is displayed on the screen and the sleep light is constantly on. Have tried various combinations of key presses to get it back but nothing works. I end up powering the laptop off in the end.
Anyone else have this problem? Or know how to resolve it.
I have run daily, weekly, monthly maintenance scripts, cleared system and user cache and repaired disk permission but I'm still getting the issue. I have a Time Machine backup but it dates back a month so I'm reluctant to restore.
