Just updated to Mavericks and now I can't update apps using my Apple ID

A few days ago I updated my 2012 Macbook Pro to Mavericks. Today I tried to update my apps but instead of asking for the password of my Apple ID, it asked for my dad's ID. The ID section was greyed out. The apps were all downloaded using my Apple ID. This didn't happen before I updated my Macbook.

To update you must log into the Apple ID that was used to set up the computer - if yu have account issues contact the App store support - link in on the right of the App store window

  • Just updated to Mavericks and now I can't update iPhoto

When I try to update my iPhoto, it says an error occurred and to try again. I've tried several times now. I've tried rebooting my computer and then trying to update it, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Linda

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
    /var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

AppleWorks ne peut pas fonctionner sur Mavericks, ou quelque chose de plus récent que Snow Leopard.
AppleWorks cannot run on Mavericks, or anything later than Snow Lepoard.
LibreOffice can open word processing documents and some Draw documents. The most recent version will open spreadsheets, with some limitations, otherwise only the older version of Numbers, not the one currently in the Mac App Store, will open them. Nothing will open database documents.

  • I updated to mavericks and now i can't find my library or download updates

I updated to mavericks then had to use migrate assistant and it added two users. One was a new User that I had to delete and the Old user that was the original had all the files and information. Now I cannot find my Library from my finder window and I cant download any updates, it will find the software then attempt to download the software then quits and says their is a network problem. It does this for my CS5 extended program and my printers. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Let's verify your base install is OK by testing in a new User. I have a suspicion the failed update and Time Machine recovery then update again has left your system in an unstable state.
First uncheck Network settings in System Preferences.
    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups (Accounts. in SL) Make it admin. Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar.
Log into the new User. You can skip the Apple ID setup.
Go to System Preferences and see if you can setup Network settings.
Test for the issues you've been seeing.
Do you still see the issue?
If yes, then the problem is with your base files.
If no, then the problem is in your User's folder.
Let me know what you find in the new User.

  • I just upgraded to Maverick and now I can't download CC apps.  Any suggestions?

When I tried to download Lightroom, the Launch Application window came up, and I chose to "CreativeCloud(URIHandler)"....
So then it popped up the Creative Cloud window and has been doing this ever since....
(I tried it with InDesign also with the same result.)  I've never had any download issues before, but I just upgraded to Maverick; would that be the cause?

if you want to fix your cc app
    1.  restart your computer and retry
    2.  if that fails, open your cc app and log out and then back in
    3.  if that fails, uninstall your cc app and reinstall
    4.  if that fails, follow these steps to uninstall cc and reinstall, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
if you just want to download cc apps and if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your adobe id.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • I just updated to Mavericks and now I can't get my toshiba external HD to show up. It appears in Disk Utility but not in my finder. In Disk Utility it is grayed out and will not allow me to mount. Ive verified and repaired it. Nothing!

I cant take it anymore. Pleae someone help me. I cannot erase my HD becasue it has all of my pics for my kids and all of my movies school work. I need this fixed please

    Hi Liz,
Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem.  Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File",  then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups  opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine.  I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked  "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1).  I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu,  when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto,  that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz,  if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

  • I just upgraded to mavericks and now I can't double click on an name from my contacts to address an email.  Did they remove this option?

Did Apple do away with being able to double click on a name in your contacts and have it automaticly address an email in Mavericks?

I didn't know that was possible. If the contact had multiple email addresses, what did it do?
Anyway, another workaround is you can click on the email address label for the person and select Send Email.
Sorry, it's actually difficult to see what is selected in this screen shot, but hopefully it will be clear enough:

  • ITunes update was corrupted and now I can't update anymore.

    Hi all!
While trying to update iTunes (either by Software Update menu or iTunes itself) it displays the following message:
Both Software Update and iTunes detects that there's an update available. Yet, the message above appears once I click on the Install button.
Any idea how to solve this?
    Many thanks in advanced.

    excellent news.
What I'm not sure now is that the corrupted update data is still somewhere in my Mac or it was replaced by the new installation I did. (Yes, I'm the kind of person who needs to keep control over the computer things)
I don't believe so. I think the trouble with getting the updates is more at the Apple servers end of things with this particular issue. (Reports of this error message come in patterns which seem to suggest that.) So I think you should be okay.
... the acid test will be when the next iTunes update comes out. (It's been around two months since the last one, which seems an unnaturally long time between updates, already.)
