Just upgraded; now FFox won't open; says reboot; reboots don't fix.

Trying to upgrade from 3.6 to 3.68. When I go to open Firefix, I get a message that tells me to reboot to finish the upgrade. Many reboots and still the same message.

This is the Camera Raw forum relating to raw processing of digital captures-it has zero to do with PhotoDeluxe (which I don't think has been for sale in YEARS...). Sorry, there are no active forums for PhotoDeluxe. Guess you need to upgrade to Photoshop Elements to be even close to current...

Ran an Itunes upgrade, now it won't open...Vista

I ran the latest upgrade for Itunes and now it opens but stops working immediately..please help.

I am having the same problem and I do get the "iTunes has stopped working" message. Just did the upgrade today and this is the first time I've had this problem. It occurs on both accounts on my computer, so I know it's a system wide problem.

Just upgraded, now iWeb won't import podcast from GB

Got home from work today and my computer (3.06 24" iMac) encouraged me to download 10.6.2, which I did.
I recorded my weekly podcast in GarageBand and selected to send it to iWeb.
It did its thing of the mixdown and conversion as usual, and displayed the message "Sending podcast to iWeb" as usual, and opened the iWeb program.
But the podcast did not transfer to iWeb. The program isn't locked up or anything. I can still browse my existing entries and make changes. But the new podcast doesn't show up.
I tried sending it several times, as well as restarting the computer and trying to send it, but each time it just opens the iWeb program without sending the podcast over.
New version bug?
I've been doing the podcast for a year and a half and never had this problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why cant I get iphoto working even though Ive done the upgrade and installation? Every time I open iphoto gives me a Learn more or quit option.

Which iPhoto version did you have previously? And do you now have iPhoto 9.6?
If you upgraded from iPhoto '08 or earlier, you need to run the iPhoto Library upgrader, see: iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader
In that case your iPhoto Library needs to be prepared, so iPhoto 9.6 can open and upgrade it.

I created a document in Pages on my ipad and now it won't open up. How can I fix this?

I created a document on my Ipad and when I finished it, I closed Pages. When I went to re-open Pages and see the document it wouldn't open. I click on the document and it shows the processing symbol but then the entire program closes. All of the other documents within pages open up fine, just not this one. Any help?

Try resetting your iPad. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for 7 or 8 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
I'm assuming your default is to save Pages documents to iCloud, and that you had a good WiFi connection when you closed Pages the last time you tried to save the document.

Processes is the only place it shows Firefox running, programs won't show it in Task Manager.

Reinstall 10.6 again, but this time hold c boot off the 10.6 and erase the ENTIRE internal drive.
You do this by selecting the drive makers name and size on the left hand side, not the slightly indented partition underneath it.
If you erase and install 10.6 only into a parittion, say Macintosh HD, the you still have the hidden Lion Recovery Partition on the drive and it appears you already have 10.7
In the MAS, hold option and click Purchases to redownload Lion
FYI, you don't need to install 10.6 to reinstall 10.7, 10.7 can be reinstalled via the Lion Recovery, Command r boot.

Just upgraded to snow leopard, now safari won't open

Hi, I just upgraded to 10.6.8 from 10.5.8 and now safari won't open. All I get is the spinning circle. Safari will still open in a guest account though, so I wonder if the file somehow got corrupt. Do I have to reinstall something? Please help.

davew100 - It is importen to have Pages in the iWork folder in the folder applications in your account. If you have moved it Software updater can't see if you need to update.
You have the possibilty to downlaod the updates from iWork . You still need to have iWork in the Application folder.

I have the same problem. I'm using Mavericks OS and latest iMovie. Both downloaded last week. I save the movie into File (as directed) and QuickTime

I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says. I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.

Just installed Lightroom 4.4 and now Lightroom won't open.

I have been working with Lr 4.3 and just upgraded to 4.4. Now Lr won't open when I click on the icon. How do I fix this?

When Lightroom is open it creates a file with the same name as the catalog with an extension .lock (LOCK) alongside the catalog file.
This lock file prevents any other access to the catalog.
If Lightroom is closed normally the .lock file is automatically deleted. However if Lightroom closes unexpectedly e.g. loss of power, crash then the file may remain in place preventing Lightroom from opening the catalog.
With Lightroom closed go to the folder where your Catalog files reside, by default this is in your User > My Pictures> Lightroom. If there is a .lock file present delete the file (do not delete the .lrcat file. See the screen capture.
If you have found a .lock file and deleted it, then double click on the actual Catalog file and see if it opens Lightroom.

The way I resolved this issue was to create a dual boot Mac, so that I am able to boot from either Mountain Lion or Mavericks. Running Vectorworks in a virtual machine just didn’t cut it.
I had already upgraded to Mavericks, which meant that trying to install OS 10.8.5 as a second operating system produced the error message saying it cannot be installed on this computer.
First, if you need a copy of Mountain Lion installer and you has previously purchased it, open the App Store app, press the option key and then click on the purchases tab. You will see a list of all downloaded software from Apple and you can download OS 10.8.5 again without paying for it a second time. If you had previously created a boot disk of Mountain Lion, which I had not, you can obviously skip this step and the next.
You will need a boot disk for Mountain Lion. After downloading the Mountain Lion installer, the easiest way to create a boot disk is to use a slick little app called DiskMaker X, which you can get here: http://liondiskmaker.com Next you will need a USB flash drive of at least 8GB in size. Install and run DiskMaker X, plug in your flash drive, and follow the prompts. In just a few clicks, your boot drive will be easily created.
Next, you will need to add a partition on your startup drive on which you will install Mountain Lion. Here is the procedure for creating the new partition: http://macs.about.com/od/applications/ss/diskutilitysize.htm You can find this at Apple support, but this site gives you additional procedures that may be helpful. I set my new partition at 50 GB, but you can do with less is you don’t have the space.
With those two operations done, and your OS 10.8.5 boot drive plugged in, restart you Mac and press the option key after you hear the chime. You will be asked which drive you wish to start from- select the boot drive. After your Mac boots up, you will see several options- choose install Mountain Lion (actually I think the option is reinstall Mountain Lion).
After completing the OS install, install your copy of Vectorworks, copy and move whatever files you need to from Mavericks, and you are in business. To boot from either OS, simply press the option key and select OS 10.8.5 when you need to work in Vectorkorks, or OS 10.9 for all your other tasks. Switching back and forth isn’t as advantageous as otherwise, but it is the best way to run Vectorworks without upgrading for the $1,500 or so that would be required otherwise.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything.
