Just Upgraded to 10.2.8....Help!!!!
Got G4 upgraded from 9.2 to 10.2++ 10.2.8.... did all the upgrades, jave, etc.... here's the problem.... reboot all I get is a blue screen after the grey screen with the apple logo. Freezes..... reboot holding shift key (safe Mode) she boots just find..... what'd I miss or screw up? Any assistance would be great!!!!

Havr you booted in single user mode and run fsck? This will check for HD corruption, fix what it can, and report back if the disk is too corrupted to be repaired by fsck.

There are other apps you can buy to repair a bad HD such as TechTool and DiskWarrior if this does no good for you. If you can easily backup important data, or if you don't have any data to backup, I'd consider an erase and install rather than spending more money to try to fix this.
If you installed 10.2 yourself, did you check for firmware updates before you started?
Also, OS X is far less tolerant of faulty RAM than OS 9. If you can, swap out memory chips to see if bad memory is your problem.

Purchases and downloads made via the App Store are tied to an Apple ID and you don't have one.
How did you download Mavericks? Her old ID?
Then you'll need to revert the machine to its "original" OS (the version it shipped with), Get your own Apple ID and download Mavericks again. -

Exactly what model Mac are you using? (Apple > About this Mac > System Report > Hardware > Model Identifier)
If it's a MacBook Pro, you are probably talking about having 2 GPUs - an embedded GPU and a discrete GPU. You can only select (use) one at a time; the place to select the GPU is (strangely enough) in System Preferences > Energy Saver:
Better Battery Life = embedded GPU,
Higher Performance = discrete GPU
If you are currently using the discrete GPU, try switching to the embedded GPU. The embedded GPU uses system RAM as VRAM and will dynamically allocate what it needs, it will allocate more than 512MB if necessary. The discrete GPU has its own dedicated GPU, in your case limited to 512MB. Both should work with Photoshop, but CS6 and hence CC require 512MB minimum.
I'm running a 2009 MBP with the nVidia 9500m + 9600m GT and it runs Photoshop CS6 fine. 256 MB VRAM. But I'm not running Photoshop 3D - is that what you are using? -

Ok, so I watched the apple video on importing, and did some reading on it, but here are my issues after importing (I'm using Aperture 3.1.2):
1) my project thumbnails are blurry (no matter what size I make them). They are clear in iPhoto.
2) Aperture seemed to import everything..including originals? For example, photos that I've cropped or rotated, I have the original as well as my edits...But obviously, I don't want these things..I want the edited version. Is there anyway to get rid of the original photos and keep only the edits that I've done?
3) When I imported, Aperture said it would need 4GB of space. What is this space for? Did it duplicate some photos or am I missing something?
When I imported, I chose 'import from iPhoto Library', and left photos in the iPhoto location. Should I have imported them into Aperture? Doesn't this make copies of my photos though (I don't want this).
Sorry if these are lame questions...I'm new!
ThanksOK...so Aperture didn't copy my pics? Does this mean there is only one copy of these photos? If so, then fine, I can keep them where they are.
Do I have to go through and get rid of the images individually? I guess what I'm asking is, why did iPhoto not show these pictures, yet Aperture is showing my edits, plus the originals? I can't figure out how to view only my final edits and not each version. Does this make sense? (ie. I don't need to see the original in my events..just the final version of my edit).

the iphone 5c still has problems with battery life and shuts down after complete charge. this happened after 8.1 update, I tried every way to shut things down, still no luck. what can I do next?
I did a soft reset, and I went to the discussion and turned every down or off. This is definitely a hardware problem.

The four members of my family just upgraded to iOS 7 last night. We now find that we are receiving each other's text messages. It's possible that during the installs, a few members may not have "unckecked" the multiple phone numbers they can be reached on. I know that I had to uncheck my husbands work mobile number and work email address as they came up as choices for contacting me. So now I am receiving some of my daughter's text messages on my phone - she's not impressed! My husband is receiving my texts etc... It's a mess! I appreciate any help anyone can offer!
I had this problem last night as well. Only my daughter upgraded to iOS7 and she had an old phone of mine. When she upgraded, the phone asked for my apple ID and then continued as normal. However, after the upgrade, any text message that I recieved, she also recieved. I am pretty sure my wife thought I was hammered when she started texting me and my daughter began answering her not having any clue what she was texting about. Anyway, this only occurred with texts from other family members, not from texts I received from friends who are obviously not on our account (we have Verizon BTW). To resolve this issue, and it isn't a short resolution.... there are two options... One, simply erase everyting on the phone.... I don't like iTunes 11, so we were unable to back up her phone. I made her go through her 600 photos, delete the ones she didn't want and email the ones she wanted to herself, and then we wiped the phone clean and rebooted it... go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. The second option, if you have iTunes 11 is to back up the phones one at a time, and then go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. Either of these options wipes the phone clean of all information, text contacts pictures etc and then you have to re-enter all of your individual information. When you do that, make sure that no one is on the same iTunes account. Theoretically, after you do this, you plug back into your computer and SYNC your phone from the last back-up. This resolved the problem for us. I don't know if there is an easier solution, be we tried logging in and out of our iTunes Accounts, turning the power on and off, and nothing changed. So, we had to go the more difficult route to avoid mass confusion with family texting.

Just upgraded to Lion an am discovering that I cannot send email photos from within iPhoto. Error message says bad Internet connection or server not working, when that's not the case. Never happened in Snow Leopard! Help!!!

I have just upgraded to Iphone 4S as my Iphone 3G failed. I want to transfer the data which I believe is stored in my Itunes account. But when I connect the phone to my computer nothing happens it just ask me if I want to download pictures or video. it does not go to my Itunes account.
swisscom say they cannot help it should go to your account and select the phone under devises but I canniot get a screen to do this can anyone help

Im having major problems syncing my iphone 4 to itunes, this problem started after upgrading to ios 5. I have upgraded my itunes, turned sync by wifi on and off but still nothing. Everytime I try to sync my iphone it just says sync cancelled. Please help.....

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

Hi guyz just fixed mine just now, I used an app named iREB please refer to the below link. Make sure youre iphone is plugged in to your USB then launch the app as admin. As soon as the app is running go to the "Recovery Mode Loop Fixer" tab & hit the "Set Auto-Boot True (Fixes 1015 errors / Recovery Loops). It will restart your iPhone in just a moment & get you back to your homescreen.
I hope this will help those whos undergoing this horrifying iPhone problem.

I'm running 10.5.8, just upgraded to iPhone 5s, can't use itunes. Help!
I am running 10.5.8 on my Mac. I just upgraded iPhone from 4s to 5s, but it won't work without new version of itunes and OSX 11. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? I have just upgraded from a Macbook to a Macbook Air. I have been using a iomega external hard drive for Time Machine, which use a Firewire. However, Macbook Air's do not have a Firewire port and i cannot find an adaptor anywhere. Can anyone help?? Thanks
There has never been a reliable firewire ---> USB adapter suitable for external high speed storage. This was a major issue when the MacBooks lost the firewire port a number of years ago (Apple subsequently brought it back).
The only high speed port on the Air is the ThunderBolt port. There are external ThunderBolt drive options out there, but they're somewhat more expensive than traditional USB/FireWire options. -

When the update fails what if any error report do you get, specifically? Please do this before trying again:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
