Just upgraded to 10.6.8 and seems 'buggy', fixable?

Hello folks,
For starters, using the computer doesn't seem as 'snappy' as before, and I upgraded from 10.4.11.
What I've encountered so far these last few weeks have been:
freezing - the entire OS will stop, and whatever is on the screen at the time stays that way and the cursor won't even move, so i have to do a reboot. This has happened 3 times.
odd behavior - in particular hitting apple-delete to send a file to the trash works intermittingly.. i'll hear the trash 'noise' but the file stays where it was. If i hit the same key command it might eventually go to the trash after 2 or 3 tries.
more odd behavior - a few times after waking the screen remains almost completely black, but I can still do operations; i can only see a trace amount of light on the screen, so i can kind of see that the cursor is moving around and i can close windows, etc. but i have to do a reboot to remedy.
any thoughts? thanks in advance, ramsay

One of the not uncommon issues going from 10.4 to 10.5-10.6 involves 10.4 software that doesn't play as well in 10.5-10.6.
First, look at your login items, have any non-Apple programs been updated to run with 10.6? Then bring up System Preferences. At the bottom, under 'other', have any programs listed been updated to run with 10.6.

The way I do it is I hook to my windows computer, it will pop up iTunes. I click iTunes off. The phone will show as another drive on your computer. Click it open then migrate to the photos folder from the iPhone.
Then select all, cut then right click on your pictures folder on your computer or make a new folder on your desk top like I do and right click on new folder and select paste.
Photos will be gone. Just remember to turn off the iPhone sync in your photos folder on the phone or they will come back

I just upgraded to 10.7.3 and now I can't install any applications.

I just upgraded to 10.7.3 and now I can't install any applications. Everything else in the OS and in applications seems to work OK. After the installers ask for the system password, they do nothing. I doesn't hang; it just won't proceed any further in the install process. I can press the back button and it seems to do that just fine. I repaired the disk permissions, but to no avail.
After I installed 10.7.3, I tried to install an updater that was listed as being recommended for Time Machine users. That was the first time I tried to launch an installer of any sort and it did the same as above. I've gathered since then that the update wasn't necessary and was already included in the 10.7.3 I loaded today.
Any hints?

I'm having a similar problem after installing 10.7.3 and the Messages beta. I've unistalled Mesages with little bit of trouble.. Linc, I followed the step given in your final post any help would be appreciated.
A screenshot of my actual error. I get this error not just for Flash, but also Handbrake. I receieve th error even when I try using a programs automatic update. However, not suprisingly I do not get the message when using Apple's software update.

Photoshop 7.0 only goes as far as 10.4.11
If you have a drive, you can put 10.4.11 on it or a partition of it
and save some money.
I am not convinced the upgrade is worth it,
but I just do simple things.

I noticed the same problem after upgrading a few iPhones to IOS 8, all use the same Apple ID. However, I now notice when I go into Message and instead of selecting a person from my contact list, I start typing their name which brings up a list of people, some of which are not in my contact list and are on one of the other iPhones. There's a circle/exclamation point next to the name which I click on, and one of the options is to "Remove from Recent". How did these names get from one phone to another and how do I remove all "recents"? They do not appear in my contact list. Anyone see this?

First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install. Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!

You are only as young as you feel......
This is an example of how you can select the exact content that you want to sync to your device. You do not have to sync the entire iTunes library. You can pick and choose the music, apps, books and so on that you want to sync. This is using music as an example.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on only the albums or playlists that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You can do this with apps, books, movies .... Whatever .... You have the freedom to sync whatever you want.

There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.

i) From LR5.5, when I click edit with "Photoshop CC 2014" - it opens PS CC 2014 but doesn;t open the image
ii) Whenever I try and use Nik Viveza it crashes PS CC 2014 when applying the changes from viveza. I've checked that I have the latest version of Nik software. It was working fine PS CC
I'm now going back to CC until these can be resolved.

I was going to reply that I have multiple monitors and have had zero problems with Viveza used with PS CC 2014. Then I realized two things. One I didn't know if the OP was on windows or the Mac and, two, if the Mac was it a Big Cat or geographic system. The display characteristics differ greatly between the three systems.
It sure would be nice to have a one line signature specifying the poster's system available for use on this board.
