Just upgraded to Firefox 8 and now a page works incorrectly, but is OK using IE and Chrome

works OK with Internet Explorer, but gets out of sync selecting videos using the thumnail images. It used to work with firefox 7 but I have not tried it with the latest web page change. When testing using files on my PC some of it worked but the Toy Run video would not play via my embed from YouTube. Uploaded it will not display the correct videos

I don't know, but every time my browser prompts me to update, I do. This is the first time I have had any drastic changes to the browser. Sorry for the freak out. I immediately starting reading the help topics AFTER I sent this message. I guess I should have done that first. The topics have helped me get everything mostly the way I like it. Thank you though for your fast response.

Have you checked whether the emails are visible at http://icloud.com ? If they are, it's a problem between your Mac and the website; sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in again.
If they aren't, then it's a server problem and you need to contact Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee; if so you should argue that this is a problem they've caused (it's not the first time, by the way) and you shouldn't be charged.

Panic. All my email has disappeared from iCloud. I did not delete it, and now it's working again, but only from today. What happened to my old emails?

Sorry for the long header, but this is my first question.
Today, for no apparent reason, my iCloud inbox/sent items/junk/trash everything has disappeared from all my devices. I checked iCloud, and there's nothing up there either. I did not delete all my email, either intentionally or by accident.
Meanwhile, iCloud is now working again, but all the old mails are gone, I'm hoping not forever.
How do I recover all this missing material, which is essential both to my business and personally?

I'm in the same position - this morning all my emails on iCloud have vanished.
Luckily I use an IMAP account in Entourage to keep copies on my machine, and I have a backup where all the emails are still visible. But if I connect ot iCloud using entourage they all vanish from entourage as well, so until this is resolved I cannot connect using entourage.
I have another iCloud account I hardly use, and that's working fine. Similarly my wife's account is also working fine - all her emails are visible in iCloud and in entourage.
Anybody had a successul way of dealing with this ?

That and when I plug the shuffle in to the comp iTunes doesn't reconize that the shuffle is pluged in.
it has updated a-few times. and when iTunes sees that the shuffle is in the comp it tells me that the songs are on the shuffle.............but when i unplug it and put my headphones in no music comes out of it!

I'm having the same problem! My good-for-nothing brother has formatted iPod shuffle through "My Computer" and now it won't work. Neither iTunes nor iPod software updater recognise the thing. In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref. 
The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar. 
Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I just upgraded my Firefox program to a new version and immediately I started seeing a group of black lines running 10-15 deep running across my computer screen while on the Web. As I scroll down they sometimes disappear. Then they reappear. It doesn't happen all the time. But often enough.

Contact Apple. That sounds like a hardware issue in the graphics circuit.

I just upgraded to Firefox 4--what happened to the secure site icon at bottom of page?

I just upgraded from Firefox 3.6 to 4. There used to be a secure site icon at bottom right of secure pages. Clicking on the icon opened a window with all security info for that page. Now there is no icon. To get the same info I now have to click on the button in the address bar and then click again on the "more information" button. This is not intuitive and seems like a step backward. Is there a way to bring back the old secure site icon?

"default dialog button" (where do you find this?)
"mouse middle-click button" (I have a wheel)
"Global default" I don't know what that is, so, apparently, it doesn't apply to me.
"IntelliMouse" I don't have this either, just an old, dumb "Dell mouse" ;-)

If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

I've only just upgraded to Firefox 4 today (30.4.11) and when it had installed and restarted, my Norton toolbar was missing. A message from Firefox did come up - something to do with some items not compatible with version 4 but I can't remember all that it said. I haven't had this problem with any of the other versions of Firefox. This is an important toolbar as it concerns identity protection, safe web searching.

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
