Just upgraded to Yosemite having problem importing pictures from iPhoto from 10.6.8

Unable to get to all my photos from iPhoto (10.6.8) into Photo on Yosemite. Help.

I am not sure of the version of iphoto that I had, but I think it was the one that came with 10.6.8
Some of my old photos came in as "sharing" and some in photos. I just let the migration happen during the installation process. I like the old iphoto appl. better than this new one. I don't have a need to sych with other apple devices or some of the other bells and whistles.
Not much help, Is there a way to get a newer version of iphoto and forget about "photo"?

I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

Having trouble importing pictures to iPhoto 6 from Canon SD400

Have never had trouble in the past, but recently switched to a newer iBook and upgraded from OS 10.3 to 10.4.4. Now pictures are no longer importing properly to iPhoto. iPhoto keeps closing. Also, when I try to play existing videos I took with my camera in QuickTime, it also closes.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First I suggest the following:
1 - boot into the system install disk and in the first window after the language selection window go to the Utilities menu and and run the repair disk routine, i.e. Repair Disk button. Then boot back into the iBook and repair disk permissions with Disk Utility (this time from the Disk Utility on the iBook).
Now, download and instal the latest Quicktime (7.1.3) updater and the 10.4.8 COMBO updater followed by another repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

I'm making a slideshow of pictures of my family with iMovieHD. Everything was working great and I have about 7 minutes of video. I tried to import another picture from the media/photos area and now the photo shows up as horizontal lines of various colours. (Similar to the way a tv looks when not tuned into a channel properly). I tried importing the picture as a clip, and the same thing happened. This happens with ANY photo I try to add to the timeline now. I've restarted my computer and updated the software. Have I used up too much memory?

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I tried following the instructions by inserting a still clip at the beginning of my movie. Unfortunately, the Kenburns clip that I want to insert still shows up as horizontal moving colour lines. I noticed that the article you suggested was geared towards iMovie 4 (not HD) and said the problem had vertical black and white lines (not coloured horizontal). I tried reimporting the picture, but the same problem still occurs. Any new picture that I want to insert into the timeline does this! What's wrong with my computer?

Just upgraded, now iWeb won't import podcast from GB

Got home from work today and my computer (3.06 24" iMac) encouraged me to download 10.6.2, which I did.
I recorded my weekly podcast in GarageBand and selected to send it to iWeb.
It did its thing of the mixdown and conversion as usual, and displayed the message "Sending podcast to iWeb" as usual, and opened the iWeb program.
But the podcast did not transfer to iWeb. The program isn't locked up or anything. I can still browse my existing entries and make changes. But the new podcast doesn't show up.
I tried sending it several times, as well as restarting the computer and trying to send it, but each time it just opens the iWeb program without sending the podcast over.
New version bug?
I've been doing the podcast for a year and a half and never had this problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

before iphoto 11 i could export a photo from gigapan wich export it in tiff
then i would import it in iphoto edit and crop
now it says unreadable file

Problem importing pictures from camera with Elements Organizer

I am using Elements Organizer from Photoshop Elements 9 (Mac OS 10.6.8). Recently, the files imported from my camera are being stored on my hard drive with the permissions set so that only the owner of the files can read them. Previously, anyone could read them. I must have accidentally changed something in Elements Organizer.
How do I set things back to how they were so that everyone can read the files imported from the camera? Is there a way to reset the default settings for Elements Organizer?
I can get around this by setting the permissions for the folder of pictures from the Terminal window, but this requires that I remember to do so after each import.

Why are you using inline CSS styles for this?
Use external CSS for site wide styles. A separate physical file to which all your HTML pages are linked.

Problem importing pictures from my Iphone 4s to Iphoto on my IMac

usually when I plug my Iphone 4S into my IMAC, Iphoto pops up and I can then import all of my photos with the option of deleting off my phone afterwards. But the past two days when I plug my phone in, it wont open iphoto automatically or upload my pics due to a problem uploading an image? also when I maunally open Iphoto I can click on the my iphone folder but instead of seeing pictures, all I can see are grey squares that represent my pics and videos...
please help!!!

Does Image Capture see your iPhone Photos correctly? Try, if you can import them using Image Capture.
If not, you will need to troubleshoot your iPhone.

What kind of media do you have in your camea roll? Only jpegs, or also raw images or videos that might be complicating matters?

Problem importing pictures thru iphoto onto an external hardrive.

I just filled up my computer with pictures but i'd like to be able to import them directly onto the external and be capable to still look at them on iphoto.
I'd appreciate if you can help.

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
Quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library as a single entity from the pictures folder on your boot drive to the external drive and launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key - use the select library option to point to the iPhoto library you just copied to the external drive - test it for a while to be sure it is ok and then quit iPhoto and trash the iPhoto library on your boot drive - relaunch iPhoto and test one more time before you empty the trash

I also use a pro level Sony Z5U with the slow mo ... it's sweet. By the way, if you record a session over 10 to 12 minutes, most avchd cameras break up the MTS files into 2GB chunks or segments. If you just bring them all in and try to stitch them back together you will end up with little gaps of around a half second where you put them together. It disrupts an otherwise perfect video. When you use clipwrap, you can select "Convert Multiple as Spanned" from its menu, and clipwrap will put them back together properly ... no gap. Best wishes.

Having Problems Importing Video From Camcorder ( Log and Transfer?)

Today i received my Canon HF11
It records AVCHD format.
I'm pressing log and transfer, and it comes up, however when i press 'add to queue' it will be added, then an icon comes and spins for a few seconds, then it'll stop and turn into a red octagon with an exclamation mark in the middle
A few people have said 'Choosing plain stereo fixes it' - but it hasn't, and i've changed pretty much everything to 'apple intermediate codec.
I've done 'easy setup' and changed it to HD, FPS to all formats.. i'm trying to kind of match everything but it's not working for me
I have a 2.4Ghz Aluminium Macbook, With Final Cut Express 4.0 trying to import with AVCHD

Trash your preferences. They've probably been corrupted changing to the wrong format. There is only one correct setting that matches your media. Select that.

Problem Importing Music from

Hello, I just setup my network attached storage and I'm having problems importing music from it. I get a runtime error with CTImport.exe "abnormal program termination", nice and informati've (see below). I'm running MediaSource 3.30.2, the most recent version. I can add songs little by little, but anytime I try and import a bunch, I get the error. It's not the length of the pathname either, because I added the longest one individually, and it was fine.
I tried importing from a mapped dri've letter and from the network path directly, both have same problem. I also get the same error from the file sniffer built into MediaSource.
I'm actually running an external USB hard dri've that is attached to Linksys's Storage Link NLSU2 (or something). Don't know if that is the problem. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, I originally had all my songs on my local dri've. Anyway, it turned out to be a "corrupt" file. This file was fine in every other media player I had, but MediaSource couldn't do anything with it, not even play it (it was an unprotected .wma). I don't know if that song was originally imported while on the local dri've, but I deleted it and MediaSource imported everything fine.
It was a pain hunting that one song down.

I have an iPhone 5s. My computer is a Windows, with the Windows 8 OS. I have never had a problem importing pictures from my iPhone to my computer until recently. Now, whenever I try, I get this error message:
The following error occurred while importing IMG_1022.JPG:
The system cannot find the path specified.
What do you want to do?
Try again
Skip this file
Skip all files with errors"
I have tried again. I have tried skipping files. Either way, the photos and video will not import from my phone. It is filled up now and I cannot download anything else, or take any more pictures, until I get these files off the phone.
Does anyone have any ideas?

1. Could you explain a bit about the sentence ‘installing multiple printers from the portal’ ?
2. Check the event viewer and share us the related error log.
Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
