Just uploaded OSX Mavericks and lost access to I Photo. Do I need to download paid for app to access my photos now?
Here's the current version of iPhoto. Try installing that, and see if things work better.

iLife11 is SnowLeo 10.6.x (and therfore Intel only). Version 09 would be the last ppc 10.5.x compatible.
I for sure remember to have loaded the full ilife 06 suite on Leopard back then , it ran fine.
So you could look for any version from ilife 06 to ilife 09 to be on a safe side, they work all on Intel and PPC and also all on 10.5.x .
Of course the newer the version, the more features ( but the more power is needed ).

I downloaded OSX Lion and lost access to my Microsoft office programs. How do I get them back?
I just purchased OSX Lion and downloaded the file. I now can not access my microsoft office programs. This is not something I was warned about by the team in the Apple Store at all. Is there a way to recover these programs? ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Do you have Office 2004 or earlier? If so, you'll need to upgrade to a more recent version. Office 2004 is a PowerPC application, and requires Rosetta to run on an Intel Mac. Rosetta isn't included in Lion, so Lion won't run PowerPC apps.
One suggestion I've seen is to put two partitions on your hard drive, with one running Snow Leopard and the other running Lion. Any PowerPC apps would be installed on the Snow Leopard partition, and Universal or Intel apps would be installed on the Lion partition.
If your version of Office is the Intel version, I don't know what to tell you. Hope this helps. -

Hello. When I upgraded to OSX Mavericks, I lost my complete portfolio, which was saved on the desktop. I have checked, and I don't have a second account saved on my iMac.

Is the Pic being sent ?
If you use the spyglass icon at the right hand end it should open the FIle Transfer window which in turn should indicate is it was "Sent" or "Failed".
It may also show a spinning barber shop poll in indicate it is still trying to send it.

On my mac-book pro the sound isnt working after I have installed OSX Mavericks, should I take it to be repaired, or can I do something on System Preferences?
In addition to checking system preferences/sound/output and selecting built in if that does not work, make sure volume is up and mute not checked.
You can try the following, Take a set of headphones and plug theim in and out several times (there is a micro switch that sometimes gets stuck)
Go to applications>utilities>Audio MIDI set up, see if you can select built in there, make sure volume is uo mute not checked.
Try a NVRAM/PRAM reset:
Power off, power back on holding the following keys OPTION + COMMAND + P + R
Continue to hold these keys till you hear the start chime 2 times, then release,reboot -
When I upgraded to Mavericks I lost access to iPhoto.
When I attempt to open iPhoto after installing Mavericks I get the error message: "You can’t use this version of the application “iPhoto” with this version of OS X. You have version 9.3.2." My iMac is running 10.9 and was running iLife '11 before this happened.
So I go to the Apps store to upgrade iPhoto and get the error message: "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID. This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
HOW do I fix this? Or is it possible to uninstall Mavericks?
Please help! This is a school computer and I really need to use iPhoto to do some Christmas projects with my students!carolyn,
This looks like an owernership issue. Have you talked to the school administrator about it?

I just downloaded OSX Mavericks and it tells me iPhoto is not supported. I have lost access to all my photographs. Can anyone tell me how to recover them?

I just upgraded to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 on my iMac (2012). When I try to access iTunes store, I now get "Store is temporarily unavailable." I quite iTunes, rebooted. I can't sign-out or access account. I can sign in to App store and iCloud on same computer. My macbook pro and macbook air both work with iTunes on the same network. I tried clearing iTunes cache and resetting warnings, just for the **** of it.
So...I don't see anything about this particular issue...where all other macs and Apple devices are working but one isn't...and where the one not working is the upgrade to OSX 10.9.
Also, I haven't changed any passwords or email addresses for my Apple ID lately.
Ideas?
griggsleAfter receiving the "temporarily unavailable" error message on the iMac for three days, rebooting multiple times, etc., without effect, this morning the store started working on this computer as well.
Since I could access my Apple on the Apple site and in iCloud during this whole thing and also access my ITunes account (store) on my other macs, I'm figuring this was some strange anomaly. -
Hello, Im new to this website. Im having issues with my Macbook. I have the old 2009 model Macbook and it is our schools macbook. The school just upgraded these MacBooks to OSX Mavericks and when i try to open Minecraft it won't let me. It says no jdk installed. I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. Can any one help with my problems. P.S. I don't know the administrator password or stuff like that. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.
Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.

Thanks so much for being out there for me - someone I can talk to. I went to purchases and unfortunately it is no longer there. I dowloaded the Notes App again for free. I will just buy Bejeweled again. I guess the price of downloading maverick was losing my beloved video game. But you have put my mind at ease - I appreciate knowing I did all I could do to recover it.

I just installed OSX Mavericks on my macbook pro yesterday now videos of my children learning to walk and talk don't play in iPhoto. Please help me get them working again.
Thank you.I have never used the video format you use. However export the video from iPhoto and try and open it with Quicktime or VLC, if that works just export the videos that you require. Again I have not used those applications with that file format but VLC is reported to open most video files.

I just downloaded OSX Maverick and now I cannot drag addresses from my contacts to the "To" box when sending email. How can I get back to dragging groups or individual contacts to emails?
Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

I just upgraded to OSX Mavericks and when i use the gestures on my magic track pad it responds oddly. Sometimes it won't recognize when my simple gesture of scrolling through a document.
Gestures is not working like it did before. The side to side, forward back swipe, is very picky. Sometimes it takes four or five tries before it works. And yes I know how to do it. I have had a magic trackpad for about one year. And was greatly pleased by how it worked, BEFORE Mavericks. It has has indeed changed.

Just installed OSX Mavericks. Bluetooth disappeared from menu bar and system preferences panel. I use a Magic Mouse but my iMac no longer recognizes it as such, and I can no longer use it to scroll screen. What happened?
Since Mavricks installed: My Spotlight icon disappears from the menu bar, but the space stays there. If I click on the blank space where the
spotlight icon is supposed to be - the spotlight menu opens. So, for me, the icon is there, it works except that it is invisible at times. IF I do a re-start it is there. If I let the computer set, sleep or other wise stay on for days, the icon will hide and re-appear at random.
