Just want to play an Ipod on my work Mac

If anyone knows, please tell me how I can just play my personal Ipod from my Imac at work. I DON'T WANT TO SYNC IT. I don't want to purchase some other Apple BS!
I just basically want to use my work Imac as an Ipod dock (that is; an expensive & overrated dock).
Can I not do that? The Apple gods don't allow that?
I can hook my ipod up to any device on the planet with speakers and a USB port (car stereos, XBOX 360, PS3, WII, Any television or home stereo), EXCEPT products from the same company that makes said device?
Please show me how much of an Apple noob I am & that I'm nothing but a hater.

Connect your iPod's headset port to your PC's audio in port using any cable with a single 3.5mm mini-jack male connector on each end.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way.  Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

  • HT201210 Ipod told me to connect to itunes because it was disabled. Now it's telling me to put in the passcode before I can use it with iTunes. I just want to restore my ipod. I have also tried recovery mode.

I forgot my password to my ipod touch and locked it out. It told me to connect to iTunes and I did. I put it in recoery mode and started the 5 hour download of the restoring process. I tried it many times it always ends up stopping and an error occurs. Now iTunes is telling me I have to put in my password for my ipod before iTunes can use it and recognize it. But my ipod is still telling me to connect it to iTunes and I just want to restore my ipod.

Try Recovery Mode a few more times.
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • HT5312 Every time I click send e-mail for instructions on resetting my security questions, I don't get them? I just want to play minecraft. I already put $15 in my balance and I can't even spend it. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Why is it, every time I click send e-mail for instructions on resetting my security questions, I don't get them? I just want to play minecraft. I already put $15 in my balance and I can't even spend it. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Either they're being sent to a different email address, or got caught in a spam filter, or something's wrong at Apple's end. If you can't find the email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions, which can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.

i just wanted to know if i can download the Mac version and use that cereal number to activate it?
    No.
Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. There is a platform swap process (from Mac to PC etc) but only for CS6.
As a CS5 owner, your choices are to either pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

  • I am 63 yrs. old and I just want to use my iPod for music.  As soon as I turn my iPod on, it connects to the internet.  How can I have control over when I do or do not connect to the internet?  (I have wifi)

Help!  I have an iPod Touch 5th generation with iOS 8.1 that I just purchased two days ago.  I am of the early 70's generation and this is all new to me.  I have wifi at home because i have a laptop.  I want to use my iPod mainly for creating playlists and then playing it through my stereo.  When I turn my iPod on, it automatically connects to the internet.  How can I control when I connect to the internet?  I am not a kid wanting to use all the "gadgets" please help me so I don't feel that I've totally wasted all of this money on this purchase!  Thank you so much for your help!.

Hey Evawantsin, turning off Wi-Fi as suggested by Illaass will do the trick, but how are you connecting to your stereo? If it uses Wi-Fi, then you need to turn the Wi-Fi on for music sessions. If through Bluetooth your fine, or do you use a physical connection like a dock, USB to lighting cable or do you just plug in through the headphone port with a patch cable? Also, you can down load the iPod Touch Users Guide for iOS 8 for free from iTunes. It will answer most questions, or at least point you in a direction. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

  • I just want to rename my ipod...

There's nothing wrong with it. I just want to know how to rename it.

Wow... no need to get hostile. Jeff was just pointing out something that happens often on these forums. A person posting a question will occasionally mark the last post in the thread as 'solved', even though someone else may have answered earlier.
It happens all the time - in fact there have been several people posting on these forums who consistantly re-post the correct response (sometimes word-for-word copies of an earlier post within the thread) in hopes of being awarded the points.
I'm not accusing you of doing this - I'm just pointing out why it can be frustrating.
p.s. Personally, I prefer to provide links to outright answers... it's my way of showing the person how he/she might find information in the future. Something about teaching a man to fish...
    Cheers!

  • Help I just want to restore my ipod touch!!!!!

I want to restore my ipod touch but everytime i do i get an error message saying an unknow error has occured and ipod could not be restored. i dont know what else to try please help

    - Was that the complete wording of the error message? Usually an error number or other information is included besides saying unknown error.
    - Try resetting the iPod.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try restoring on another computer.

  • HELP: I just want to play my old Heroes of Might & Magic III on my new Mac

Mac says that the application to install Heroes of Might & Magic III "is not supported on this system."
Is there some kind of patch I can download so my operating system will recognize and allow this file? I really want to play this classic game.
    Thanks!

    Hi zforman;
With Intel Mac you are unable to run "Classic" programs.

  • Want to change the ipod from win to mac and dont have the PC anymore

My PC where I had my Library was stolen. Now I bought a Mac and cannot save all my music and videos from my iPod to my new Mac. What can I do??

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    PodView Mac Only

Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
