Just want to plug in my iPhone and listen to the music on it!
For the first time I have attempted to plug in and listen to music on a computer that my iPhone is not synchronized with. On my laptop I use for work the phone plugs in and mounts but I can't play anything. I'm running I tunes v8 on both of the computers involved. (iMac / MacBook Pro)
Is it really true I can't listen to the content on my phone? Software bug?
There is no disk mode on the iPhone so your work computer cannot directly access the music. This is part of the closed system on the iPhone (remember, originally there was no 3rd party software) to try to protect the iPhone. No one here knows if they will ever change this.

I have just bought a new computer and downloaded itunes. I plugged in my iphone and upgraded to the newest itunes/ synched etc. Now have no music or apps on the phone. Contacts, texts, photos all fine. Just all itunes content that is missiing. It isn't showing in my itunes account on my computer or on my phone. Any idea how to get it back? (No point synching with itunes on my computer as it isn't there either!)
I suggest copying your entire iTunes library to your new computer, also you might want to copy the photos you want to save. Then sync your device to the new iTunes and copy over your music, documents and photos that you want.
If you are no longer going to use the old computer you should open up iTunes on the old computer and use the menu to deauthorize it. Be sure to use the same iTunes menu on your new computer to Authorize the new one. -
I just installed an update on my iPhone and since then the choice to repeat music, or not, has disappeared and it automatically plays songs and albums on a loop. Anyone know how to make it play an album or song just once?
Basics from the manual are restrt, reset, restore.

I've a Pc with Win7. Is it possible to view the movies I've there (and listening to the music also there) in my TV using Apple TV? And navigate in the web? Can I choose my browser?
I'm just starting in this area so please explain in detail.

You can't browse the web on an Apple TV
You can view any content that is in your iTunes library on the PC via the Apple TV if it is in the correct format. -
I have got an iphone 4s and to add some songs to the music library i have to remove all my music from my iphone and then sync it all again to just add some new songs, it requires a lot of time, can somebody help me!??

You are able to sync purchased content from your iDevice to a new computer as long as the comptuer is authorized
To authorize the computer follow these steps
At the topi of the screen next to File- Edit -View, click store then Authorize this computer.
Enter in your appleID email address and password and click authorize
**If you do not see the File Edit View option, At the very top left corner you should see a little square click the square and click show menu bar.
Now that your computer is authorized click the file menu button, then click Devices, then go to your iPhones name and then click Transfer purchases this will allow you to transfer all of your purchased content to the computer
Now if you want to transfer your non purchased content to the computer you can do so if you have wif and the previous computer on the same network as the new computer with home sharing

I purchased a new Iphone 5S about a couple of months back. The phone use to hang up occassionally with a white screen and the black apple logo on it. Two days back the screen went unresponsive. I cannot enter the lock code. Everything seems to be normal otherwise. I can see the Atnt signal, I get calls. The find my iphone app on a different device can locate my iphone. I can even take screenshot by pressing the home key and power button simultaneously.
I took the phone to apple store and they say they will issue me a new phone. I dnt mind but I will loose the data on the phone. It was never backed up because my icloud is filled with data from my ipad. Is there a work around to get the data back.?
Any help is appreciated.Are you sure that the battery is not empty: when the battery is VERY empty (that is when it was on and a long time off the charger) it may take an hour or even more to start charging with the charger connected. When you have an iPad charger you can also use that one, and it charges a bit faster.

I have a linksys WRT54G router that we use as a base. I want to use Airplay using Airport Express and hook up my stereo to it. How can i set up my Airport express without a PC/laptop? I just downloaded Airport utility on my iphone and ipad,will that work? And one more thing about the setup, the linksys router shich acts as a base is in a different room as the airport express which i wanted to use for airplay. So I'm hoping to hook up the Airport express via wireless signal. If i can set it up, can someone pls help me out by posting detailed instructions. Thanks so much!
The first message that AirPort Utility will display during the auto setup will be that the Express will be confgured to "extend" the network. When AirPort Utility analyzes the network further, and sees that the Express cannot "extend" the 3rd party network, the next message will indicate that the Express is being configured to "join" the wireless network.
Once the Express is configured, if you later go into AirPort Utility to check the settings under the Wireless tab, you will see that the Wireless Mode is indeed "Join a wireless network". -
I have an eight (8) GB iPhone 3G, but when on iTunes on my Mac, it says my phone only has 6.9 GB of space total. I just want to know why this is, and if I am able to get a new phone because of malfunction. Thanks!

Y I suspect:
1) i use whatsapp and i saw a profile picture of a friend which he said he didn't put it..(i thought his might be hacked)
2) when i went through my photos i found pictures i have never taken and copied from any place....more over i was able to see someone else's whatsapp conversation which was screen shoted and kept as a photo
please let me know what i need to do as i had some business documents also on that thinking iphone is secured ;(
Thanksi recently reseted my phone to the factory settings deleted all the content and never copied anything back,since i was having an issue with my phone were it took lot of time to type in for messeges and even it was not responding to show the keypad....anyways i still have the issue of the keys getting stuck while typing......
now back to what you said please let me know how come the additional photos came into my photo library then??? i am sure no one has used my phone for the past 2 weeks, i refreshed it 2 weeks back...and its still in its factory condition from the day i bought all the apps are installed from the apple store too, more over i paid for the whats app application. -
I have an older version of itunes on a separate drive. Everytime that there has been an update to itunes it will not let me update. Now I purchased an iphone and I hooked the phone up to the computer and it tells me I need to install the latest version of itunes. I downloaded to try it, but I keep getting an error message that says itunes.Resources is not a valid short file name. What can I do from here?

I have and apple tv,,..how do i play movies,from my apple mac,onto the apple tv..my movies are not on my itunes,but on an external hard drive...i just want to mirrow whats playing,on my mac to the tv...

When you say tit only sees your music folder, are you saying it only sees your music folder or does it see other empty folders. -
Just bought a nano and want to download some of my iTunes library. The "Music" button shows almost all my selections but some albums are missing, yet ONLY those albums appear on the nano icon on my desktop after being dragged there but none of the others. What's happening?
I've read some of the post here that I thought might help but they refer to titles (Music) and triangles in the "Devices" window which are nowhere to be seen when I open the "Devices" window.
I have iTunes 11.0.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8. Does this make a difference?I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

I recently inherited a restored iPhone 5 from my uncle and its needs a sim to be activated, could i use my friends sim just to activate my iPhone and then give the sim back once its activated without affecting his contract and later on get a sim for myself and a contract for me and it all be normal??? The phone MUST have a SIM present in order for activation to complete. The process will not finish otherwise.
For the OP:
If the iPhone 5 is locked to a carrier, you must use a SIM from that same carrier. Otherwise I think you would be OK borrowing the SIM to activate the phone.

I Just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes I had on the phone. How do you have the info sync from phone to desktop and not the other way around as I usually make contact changes etc on my phone. I would then like to be able to sync that info from desktop to ipad thanks
It does make sense. The iPhone is a one-person device and just syncs to one computer.
The way it should work is as follows:
Old computer content ---> New computer
New computer <---> syncs to iPhone
But the way you are trying to operate sounds like:
Old computer content ---> iPhone
... and ...
New computer content <---> iPhone
So simply move your old stuff (either directly from iTunes, or from a computer backup) to the new computer, have it all there, then sync your iPhone to the new machine.
