I have an iPhone 4S and I keep getting those irritating notifications that tell me I need to upgrade my storage or free up space. I've deleted all I can from my music and photos without losing too many precious memories, but it's come to the point where I think I need to delete backups. However, I'm just worried that I will lose all and any log-in information that I don't remember and app/game progress that was saved to the iCloud. Please Tell me what will happen/what I can do?

If you are asking what happens when you delete an iCloud backup, it only deletes the backup from your account. It won't do anything to the data on your phone or in your iCloud account. If you don't need to backup you can delete it. (If you no longer want to back up your phone to iCloud, turn iCloud backup off in Settings>iCloud>Backup. Then your phone will back up to your computer each time you sync it with iTunes.)

I've recently updated my iphone 4s with the ios7 update and there was a bug fix I also downloaded recently but I hadn't noticed anything wrong at the time. I know it's not happened that often today but does anyone have any problems with their 'slide to unlock' button and have to reload their iphone again? Do you think there'll be a bug fix for it? Just worried as it's not old and I have a feeling I shouldn't have bothered with the update at all.

Why would you think it's a bug? If it were a bug EVERYONE would be having the same issue.

Hello, I recently purchased the Win8.1 Pro Retail on disk for my old student laptop. I'm not a student anymore and decided to get a full license. I installed and used the old WMC Media Center key from my old install which worked fine but I wondered
if it was still tied to my student OS, so I reinstalled again and bought a new key. Upon doing so, I see that I'd actually lost "all rights to the previous software" as stated in the Win8.1 Pro + WMC EULA. Is what I did against the EULA? There
are similar situations which Microsoft employees advise to just reinstall and then enter the WMC key but which would also seem to violate that clause. Please help me understand. This is a very pressing issue for me. I'm trying to get a

My iphone 4s shuts off automatically, and i can't turn it on with just the power button i need to do the "reset" all the time. it's been happening since sunday and today is already tuesday. what is happening?

After it turns off it gets put into " recovery mode". and even if i do the "restart", i have to do it several times before the phone actually turns on. phone is 1 year and 5 mos old. already tried to restore it but it just keeps on shutting down. can anybody help?

Hi, thank you very much for your reply. No my phone was never been jailbreak-ed. Never been dropped in water or in any wet surface. Dropped on the floor while texting yes, but it was just a one time incident, last year august i can clearly remember, but after that no more (phone still works fine even after.) restored the phone again earlier, but problem still occured. Will try to go to Apple also to ask and have it checked. Just worried because my phone is already out of warranty. Will keep you posted. Again, thanks. If you have any more advice just let me know. Most carrers won't care if you change phones as long as you are payng for al the services they require. Since you both have iPhones, it probably won't be an issue, but since we don't know who your carrier is we can't say it they will have a problem with you making that change or not. The only way to make certain it won't be a problem is to contact your carrier...

Deleted Users Confusion/Worry

I'm not very tech smart but I just opened my finder to look through my computer and on the left side bar, favourites/devices area. I found a 'Deleted Users' file which i've never seen before. I'm confused how they got here and why I never saw it before.
It has two .dmg and one is 'aspnet.dmg' I don't know what that even is?
The other seems to be my older personal user account, lets just say its called 'M.dmg' which I again don't know how it got there. I did transfer my old computer on to this but i don't remember deleting it on my mac or anything about it ending up in this Deleted Users folder.
The user I use on my mac is the first one I made, the user I currently use is called 'M2' so its not the same one I'm using but I'm just worried what these things are and how they got there. They both apparently have 1gb of data but I cant find anything inside them other than a few older personal files in the 'M.dmg'. I transferred my old computer on to this one but I've never seen this Deleted Users file before just worried about touching/deleting them if they're important. I have this computer for about three years now, not sure why I've never seen this.
Sorry I rambled, basically I'm just worried what these are exactly. They both have about 1gb of data but I cant see anything other than a few things in the old user .dmg and I have no idea what aspnet.dmg even is...What are they? Should I delete them? & Why do they seem to have pretty much nothing but say its 1gb each? I'm just confused, Thanks!

What is the new sidebar folder called? It could just be a new feature.
Changing passwords can help if you think things may be compromised, it's best to add really good & unique passwords if possible.
Hidden wifi is a bit of a misnomer. Everytime your Mac sends data the 'hidden' access point is revealed to an extent. There is nothing wrong with it, but don't assume it adds extra security, it just discourages people who try to connect to every visible network. You still need WPA2 encryption if possible (WEP is too easily cracked).
Don't forget to dig out any old files from the old account, there may be some buried treasure

So yesterday I was online, and searching for images on google (not adult content, it was a school related search).
I clicked on the the picture and then instead of seeing the picture, I get some kind of warning from safari. I don't exactly know what it said because it happened relatively quickly. All I know was that a pop up from Safari came up that said something along the line about "not closing out and something about scanning" and in the back of this Safari message pop up I saw something that looked like it was downloading (like when you download software, and it has those bars showing you the progress of the download).
I'm really, really sorry that my explanation is as descriptive as possible. It just happened really, really fast, I didn't even get to read the whole Safari message. And then Safari says that it wasn't able to open up the page (it was the page you get when Safari cannot make an internet connection).
So basically I wasn't sure if that was actually Safari scanning the picture before it was opened. (I was even downloading the picture, I was just doing a google search). Or if it was spyware/adware trying to download onto my computer. I don't know if it was successful and was wondering what you guys thought and if you think I should download some adware/spyware. I have Clam X and haven't really used it, but I just used it to scan my documents, and everything and nothing came up.
Sorry if I'm really confusing. I'm just nervous that I may have gotten something malicious on my computer. Thanks.

I don't think I actually downloaded something. I was just worried because after I clicked on the picture, there was a Safari pop up (containing that warning). And then something on the actual screen, it looked as if something was downloaded (it may have been Safari scanning the picture) because the picture didn't open up, instead the window screen just said that it was unable to open up the page.
I was just worried a trojan or something like that may have creeped in.
I did your window download and it's just says Bio 112 (I downloaded something for my class like a week ago).
Should I be worried? Should I get some type of adware installed?

Worried about losing songs

Hi - I've just bought a 5G 60Gb iPod. I've a home computer and a work computer, each with their own iTunes libraries. What's the best way to synchronise so all the music ends up on the iPod? I've sync-ed the iPod with the work computer already ("automatic update") but I'm wary of plugging the iPod into the home computer without knowing what this will do: I've read some posts on here about data loss?

Thanks for helping! I'm sure this is a silly question, but - what I've done so far is to autoupdate the iPod from the work computer, disconnect it and leave work once it had finished.
Now I'm home, if I connect the iPod to the home computer for the first time ever, will it automatically try and autoupdate, or will it give me the choice to manually update?
I know that I'll need to manually update on both machines from now on to get all the music onto the iPod. I'm just worried about what will happen the first time I connect to the home computer.

I have moved house and decided to go with BT for my broadband. I plugged in my route about an hour ago for the first time. I was pleasently shocked to be connected at 7000kbps as I have aways lived so far from an exchange in the past that my highest speed has always been around 2000kbps hehe.
So I fired up a game I often play and it needed patching but the download was only at 235kbps I at first thought it there server being slow and decided to do a BT speedtest here are the results.

I was just comming up on day 5 of constant connection at 7616kbps and then the sync dropped. it only dropped for about 30 seconds and reconnected at the same speed and stats.

how reliable are apple if i send my ipod away for them to fix am just worried it comes back all scratched and doesnt get fixed, its brand new so not a mark on it n i wanna keep it that way! any advice would be much appreciated Gordon

Why would you think that Apple would send you back an iPod all scratched up or not fixed?
I've been around these forums for a while now and never heard of this problem.
If Apple returns an iPod "not fixed" it's either because they cannot find an issue with it or the issue was caused by accidental damage, misuse or abuse.

Macbook problems, hard drive crash, random shutdown, freezes

I bought my macbook used a few months ago, and it worked flawlessly until about 3 weeks ago. The system started freezing and not booting (getting folder icon instead of apple at startup). I ran drive setup and tried to repair the drive, but this did not fix the problem. DiskWarrior also could not fix it. I pulled the drive and installed a new hard drive, as I wanted a larger capacity anyways. All my problems appeared fixed for about two weeks, then similar problems began occurring. I backed up all the files I needed to an external firewire drive and attempted to reformat the new internal drive. Drive Setup says it can not reformat the drive - can't mount it and if it does, the drive disappears while in the process of formatting. I pulled the new drive and am having it replaced under warranty. I am using the firewire drive to run my computer, and this seemed to work fine for a day or two until the computer just started shutting down with no warning. Everything goes black, including the little light on the front of the computer. I have to hold down the power button for 10 seconds before it lets me start the computer back up. I had read this may be a memory issue, so I ran memtest and it says the memory is fine (I need to do it in single user mode still, however). I also tried pulling both sticks of ram. They are both 1GB crucial memory. I put each stick in by itself and tried it in both slots and was able to reproduce the shutdown issue with any ram configuration of either stick.
After all this, I realized the firewire drive was only running 10.5, so I updated all the software through software update, and it is now running 10.5.2. It seems to be working better as I have not experienced a random shutdown yet, but I'm anticipating it may start back up soon. Today, however I experienced a different problem - the screen froze on me and the only way to get anything to happen was to force a shutdown with them power button. It's restarted and seems to be working fine again for now.
I've run some logs and here's some things I've found:

Yeah, I think it's the HDD. I was just worried that the RAM was bad and corrupted the HDD or something, but given the symptoms I think you guys are right. Ordered a 7200RPM 320GB HDD off Amazon Prime...will be here tomorrow

I wonder if I can fix the ir port and the sleep indicator light when I install the hard-drive. The sleep indicator light never turns off. It stays on as long as my computer is on, only turns off when I shut it down.
