JVC AVX 2 Car head unit not compatible with ipod touch.

Hi I upgraded to an Ipod touch 2nd gen 8 gig. I was just wondering because my old ipod mini can sync with my cars headunit or player but with the ipod touch it only displays accessory connected. I am a bit frustrated because it seems that I cannot use this ipod touch in my car since it cant read it.
Will apple provide a fix with this? Coz i am really frustrated since I already gave away my ipod mini which can be read by easily by my cars headunit.

Hello. Has there been any updates on this problem. I also have a AVX 2 and I do prefer using the aux input so I can stream my music videos from my ipod touch to my headunit. This is were my problem starts. I have the new video cable for the ipod touch and have connected it to my headunit via the aux input. As i stream the video it gives me approx 30 seconds on the headunit display and then cuts out. After that it only uses audio and runs the video on the touch.
Can apple at least answer the topics discussion where there is obviously a PROBLEM!!!!

  • Enabling Warning for Application that is not compatible with Ipod Touch

Sorry if this has been asked before. Searching for prior posts about it, I ended up with pages of Compatibility Mode Posts.
Not thinking, when iTunes asked me if I wanted to disable the warning when an application was not compatible with my Ipod Touch, I said Yes. Searching through all the settings,Preferences and properties (or even in Regedit), I see no way to re-enable this option. Kinda nice to have the warning so I know it did not install, and would like to get it back. About the only thing I saw remotely close was the option to "Reset all dialog warnings" in the preferences menu, and it didn't work.
    Any thoughts???

Rebuilding your iTunes preferences files might get that back for you, Pa.
The technique you need for that is described in the "Remove iTunes Preference files" section of the "User-specific troubleshooting" section of the following document:
[iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717]
Before starting out on that, set the PC up to view hidden files and folders, as per the description at the beginning of the "User-specific troubleshooting" section.
    *Some heads-ups before proceeding*
Be careful of any custom preferences (EQ, imports, etc) you have set up. Take a note of those, because rebuilding the relevant prefs returns all such prefs to their default settings. You may need to set up any such preferences all over again.
You may also need to reinstall any third-party plugins afterwards.
Things to expect during the pref file rebuild ... moving one set to the desktop (on XP) causes the setup assistant to run during the rebuild. Avoid saying yes if it asks you to import all the media files on your PC into iTunes. Otherwise, you'll end up duplicating all your content in your iTunes library. Moving the other set of prefs to the desktop (on XP) means that you have to agree to the licence agreement again.

  • ITunes U not compatible with iPod touch 4th and 5th generation.

I attempted to subscribe to the course, Moons An Introduction. When opening one of the course books, I get an error message stating I need an iPad to read the book. There is nothing about the course being incompatible with iPod touch. Why can't incompatibility information be included in the course description?  What a waste of my time. Please don't advise me to open the book on my computer. I don't want to read a book on my computer. That's why I got an iPod. I'm thinking about getting an iPad, but as soon as I purchase one, it will be outdated. Isn't this a ploy by apple to get people to buy iPads?  How many iTunes U courses are like this?  The most important book of the course is incompatible.
    Thanks,
    Brenda Woollard

Thank you, lllaass.  Of course, an apple user remarks to this fact in their review. Are all courses going to have reviews attached? Why do I have to read reviews on courses to get this information?  Who is writing the review?  It's not an apple official. How reliable is information in reviews?  I've read reviews that have incorrect information. Why not put the fact that a course is incompatible with iPod right in the course description. It would save a lot of time and wasted bandwidth. Why was the book allowed to be downloaded onto an unsupported device?

  • ITunes not compatible with iPod Touch 4th gen (problem with Windows 64 bit)

So I've been trying for about a month or so to sync my iPod Touch to iTunes but ever since i updated it to iTunes 11 it has been saying that i need to uninstall it and install the 64 bit version. I've done that twice this week alone and its still not working, saying again that i need the 64 bit which I already have. I've ended up completely erasing previous iTunes data to see if that would help, but that just ended up being more hassle. I don't think its just my iPod, because it refuses to sync my iPad 2 manually as well.
Please help me, i'm at my wits end.

You are very perceptive - has nothing to do with your ipod, has to do with your Windows. You can try couple things.
One - reinstall itunes "apple way" and when downloading disable your anitvirus.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
please make sure that you completed not only step one, but also step two.
Then disable your antivirus and go to step three.

if that does not work go to thing number two.

I have just updated my old ipod touch and after restore failing I have had to setup as new ipod, but now can not intall all my apps. i have tried installing app from store and message reads app not compatible with ipod or newer OS required.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • TS1702 I recently purchased several apps that will not sync with iPod touch.  Of 5 apps, three won't sync.  Computer is authorized, I've reinstalled apps, nothing works. Any ideas?

I recently purchased several apps that will not sync with iPod touch.  Of 5 apps, three would not sync.  I updated all software, checked authorizations, and reinstalled the apps -- no luck.  Any ideas?

All the apps state they are compatible w/ my model iPod Touch.  No restrictions are set that would prevent syncing.  Seems like I might have had a similar problem a while back with one app but can't recall the solution -- it was something simple.

  • Whatsapp compatible with ipod touch 4g?

    excuse me,i want ask
whatsapp compatible with ipod touch 4g ios 5 or not?
    please answer

About a yea and a half ago the developer updated the app. The update including dropping compatibility with the iPod touch.  Thus, the updated app can't install on an iPod. However, the previous revision continued to work on the iPod, at least for iOS 4.x.  Users have reported that the previous version did not work with iOS 5.

Is the USB Power Adapter compatible with iPod touch 3rd generation?
The specs of the Adapter ("This accessory is compatible with the following:" in the "Overview" section) don't mention iPod touch 3rd generation. They do mention 1st and 2nd Generation
    Thanks!

    Thank you, Lyssa.
You must be right based on that article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353). The latest model of iPod touch is referred to as "iPod touch (Late 2009)" -- and NOT "iPod touch 3rd generation", as I erroneously assumed.
That completely answers my question about the USB power adapter.

  • BACKUP CORRUPT OR NOT COMPATIBLE WITH IPOD

I have the current version of itunes, but when I go to update my ipod, I am getting an error message that says that it could not back up because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the ipod. Below that, it says to delete the backup for this ipod and try again. I'm not sure what that means or how I can delete the backup.
Do I want to do a system restore?
I have tried it several times and have restarted my computer to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello EmSpitz,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you tried deleting any previous backups via iTunes Preferences? To do this, head to the Edit drop down menu and choose Preferences. When the window pops up, head over to the Devices tab. Here you will see a section where you can delete previous backups by highlighting a specific backup and choosing *Delete Backup*. Then restart iTunes and try restoring and updating your iPod once again.
If still no luck, double check for other backups via this location on your PC.
