JVC KS-PD100 doesn't charge my iPhone 3G.

My JVC KS-PD100 works fine and charges my old iPhone, I have just upgraded to iPhone 3G but when I plug into my JVC KS-PD100 adapter, it doesn't charge my iPhone 3G any more, is it because of the iPhone 3G hardware change? Is there any fix for it? like another adapter in between in the connector to make it charge my iPhone 3G? so that I can listen music in car but don't need to worry about the battery.

Yes. Original iPhone can use firewire charging; 3G cannot.

I'd imaging there will be some sort of adapter or dongle or much existing hardware will be obsoleted by this very strange design decision.

  • The power cord doesn't seem to work properly. It doesn't charge my Iphone 6. Does anyone have this problem?

It looks like there's a problem with the power cord or with the connector. When I plug in the phone it starts to buzz repeatedly that sound that notices the charge is starting, but it doesn't go on. On the screen, also, the battery symbol changes constantly from black to green to black again to green and so on, so I understand it's trying to charge, but it's not working.
Does (or did) anyone have this problem?
    Thank you

So today I went to an official Apple store and did some tests. As you said, the problem was the cord itself. My Iphone it's only two weeks old, so I guess the warranty will carry with a new one. As I need the phone, I decided to buy another cord. In the end, I guess I'll have two cords, which is not such a bad deal.
Thank you all for you kind answers and help.

  • My original Apple charger and lightning cable doesn't charge my iphone 5 and ipad 3rd generation.

Both my devices are low in batt and i need to to use it tomorrow for work. Who would compensate my losses???
Pardon me i'm not trying to create a scene here. When i first gotten my iphone 5 (new and sealed) and before upgrading to ios 7, everything works fine. After i upgraded to ios 7, the phone main camera lost its focus after a few days usage. Fortunately the phone is under warranty and was replaced at an authorised lab BUT unfortunately i lost a fair deal of data (sms, whatsapp chat history) along the way, although most of the things have been backed up. Since there is no turning back, there is nothing i could do but to face it. And that's not all...
After a good usage of just 3 weeks, with the exact same charger and cable (both original from that came with the phone), it suddenly failed to charge. I have tried plugging it in and out and still to no avail. By the way i have not mention, the ORIGINAL lightning cable sleeve gave way after just a few weeks use. And do mind that it was HOME USE. Havent been brought out to use roughly.
And guess what, I JUST TRIED PLUGGED THE ORIGINAL LIGHTNING CABLE TO A SAMSUNG CHARGER AND IT WORKED.
I hereby swear to God that every word i said here is nothing but the truth. Not spamming. It has already caused me countless inconvenience but still i will bring the charger and the phone to the authorised lab once again to have it checked, and looking forward to get an explanation.

Both charger and cable are covered under warranty as well.  Get them replaced.

  • OEM Lightning cable doesn't charge my iPhone 5

Just picked up two more (OEM) Apple Lightning cables yesterday and noticed that my phone did not charge overnight. If you don't sit the plug in just perfectly or make sure the cord isn't hanging off an edge, it will come loose. This connector is not as snug as the one that came with the phone when it shipped. It is really loose and the slightest movement to the left makes it come un-done. It's pretty annoying when the cable is supposed to just plug in nice and snug like the old 30 pin but it doesn't at all. My brother is having the same issues, but with the cable that came shipped with his phone.

Both charger and cable are covered under warranty as well.  Get them replaced.

  • ITunes 11.1 doesn't recognize my iPhone 4s with IOS 7 - phone is charging by iTunes doesn't see it.  Any suggestions?

I upgraded my daughter's iMac to iTunes 11.1 and now it doesn't recognize her iPhone 4s.  The phone will charge and DropBox see's it but iTunes doesn't.  Any suggestions?  I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the software so that doesn't work.  Thanks for any help!

    Hello jlgougeon,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591
Follow these steps to resolve your issue:
Ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Install software updates on your Mac.
Note: If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.http://apple.com/itunes/download
Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
    Restart your Mac.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Computer doesn't recognize my iphone 4 but iphone is charging

    I have a Iphone4

I wanted to connect to itunes but
when i connect to a computer (tried a couple pc's and a mac)
the phone is charging, but my computer doesn't find the iphone (doesn't show up in My Computer).
    This used to work before,
and when i plug in my old iphone the computer finds it without a problem.
I removed itunes and installed it again.
I did the resets (7 sec and 20 sec) but nothing seems to work!
    What to do?

  • Can you use the same charging cable for both an iPhone and an IPad or are they different?  When I use the charging cable for my iPhone on my Ipad, it doesn't charge.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. So you are saying that you followed all of the steps in the support document for problems with connection, including removing and reinstalling iTunes? You do not say what you have tried, so it is hard to make recommendations. If this is the case, then you have tried resolving driver issues? What if you go to Device Manager and look for the iPhone. You should be able to click on it and see about drivers. You can update/reinstall the device driver.

  • My phone iPhone 4S doesn't charge

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge unless I turn it off. I have tried using other cables which hasn't resolved the issue. It has no problem charging to 100% when it's off but it is very inconvenient to have to turn it off to charge the phone.

    @mat8gt
    No worries,try these ways.
1.Reboot your iPhone>>>>press the Home button and Power button at the same time for 10 seconds more or less.
2.Reset your iPhone as a new iPhone>>>>Setting--General--Reset--reset all the settings.

  • Iphone doesn't charge when using hotspot, even though it shows the thunderbolt sign. What to do?

Iphone doesn't charge when using hotspot, even though it shows the thunderbolt sign. What to do?

But it used to be fine before as I use hotspot through usb,so it used to charge at the same time but for past few days its not been charging at all and it charges really slow like it would only charge 40 percent in 5 hours or so.

    Spill Cleaning
And, don't think that just because it was two teaspoons and not a glassful that there is a difference.
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
    Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
    Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage.

  • HT201412 my iPhone 4s doesn't charge.  tried multiple cables.  went to Apple (had genius appointment) store thinking that I may need battery replaced.  Met with an abrupt assistance.  She looked at receptacle where cable plugs in, declared it corroded

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge.  I tried multiple connectors.  I'm thinking my battery needs replacing.  I had an appt today at the Genius bar.  The Apple associate was a bit abrupt.  She looked at the receptacle where the connector goes.  Declared it corroded and offered to sell me a new phone.  I said it doesn't look that bad and I believe it may be the battery and asked if there is way to test if it was my battery.  She said "no", according to what I'm seeing the receptacle is damaged due to the corrosion I'm seeing.
I didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with her and left in disgust
I'm thinking about going to another Apple store to have it checked out.
    Any thoughts on this matter?

You can go anywhere you want.  The notes about your previous visit and diagnosis will remain in Apple's records.  Notes are attached to the serial number on the iPhone that was inspected.
