JVM Fails when using SQLJ/JDBC

My program is often terminating with the following error.
# An EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
# Program counter=0x604483d3
From the error I suspect it is either the SQLJ runtime or the JDBC driver causing the problem.
I mostly get this error after 3 - 4 hrs of execution of my program.
Has anybody experienced this problem? Any input is appreciated.

Hi there
it seems to be an outside-JVM exception, it could be caused by native code,
Try to use a thin driver of Java which is 100% java, and tell us what does it do!

Well heres my story. I tried kde4 from extra the last 3 weeks and I like it. I have used xfce for the past 3 years, previous to that gnome. Tried kde but never really liked it. Now I am only using workspace, base, mutimedia and graphics.
    Here is what I like.
1- Dolphin, awesome I have used thunar a while and it is great but I love splitview, and fish for ssh (which has been around a while I know), and the ability to mount other partitions on my hdd with a click no fstab entry or nothin'.
2-Pretty, I've used xfce with built in compositor an love the snappiness. But I like desktop grid with kde4 and flipswitch. Compiz-fusion is cool but I prefer not to use I'll take what the DE gives. Plasmoid are cool too.
3- Gwenview is nice too. Use to use gqview, but thumnails are nice.
    Looking forward to or lacking
1- Keyboard shortcuts, Yes xbindkeys is there but if I have a DE I want it to do it. They just don't work now.
2- kde4 has windows specific settings, but I can't set the opacity for particular windows , doesn't work.
3- Ram of course is much higher in kde4, but maybe I'm getting old I just don't care as much.

  • IFCORE-1565: The Dgraph could fail when using a relevance ranking strategy.

    Hi,
I just saw the release notes for Endeca 6.2.2 and read this bug:
IFCORE-1565: The Dgraph could fail when using a relevance ranking strategy.
Is there someone who could provide some more information on this bug? What is it and when does it occur? Reading the word 'could' would suggest a kind of unpredictability?
    Thanks,
    Maarten

The known trigger for the bug was doing relrank on a query that contained multiple text searches.

  • REDIRECT JDBC URL WHEN USING DYNAMIC JDBC CREDENTIALS SO NOT HARDCODED

I have taken over an application that uses row-level security and ADF (using
dynamic JDBC Credentials). I have been able to set the internal_connection to
a JDBCDatasource, but cannot set the Connection Type in the Oracle Business
Component Configuration to a JDBCDatasource. When I do, I receive errors that
tables are not found. When I set the value back to a JDBC URL, everything
    works fine again.
I am looking for a solution where the userid and password are not hardcoded in
the BC4J.xcfg or a way to redirect this information, as we change our system
passwords every nighty days. Otherwise, I will have to redeploy the
    application every nighty days.
I did not create this application, but I am sure that you could simply follow
the "How to Support Dynamic JDBC Credentials" article. From that point, you
will probably be where I am, where I have the internal_connection set to a
JDBCDataSource and working properly, but cannot set the Connection Type to
anything where the userid and password will not be hardcoded or cause failure.
I wanted to let you know that I have
found the updated How to Support Dynamic JDBC Credentials
    (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/howto_dynamic_jdbc.h
tml) and was going to run through the "Advanced: Supporting Dynamic JDBC URLs",
but once I was done keying in
    env.remove(ConnectionStrategy.DB_CONNECT_STRING_PROPERTY); I received a
depreciation message on the DB_CONNECT_STRING_PROPERTY. (Note: I am coding in
JDeveloper 10.1.3, so this may be depreciated as of then, but the ADF Libraries
for JDeveloper 10.1.3 are on our Oracle 10gAS 10.1.2 server.)
I thought maybe this would resolve my issue, but I can't be sure as the
deprecation message leads me to believe that this solution may not be viable in
    the future.
    UPDATE
    =======
The article you are referencing is definitely an older version.
There is a newer article for 10g at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/dynamicjdbchowto.html
    Please see if that helps.
I have already reviewed this article.
In fact, I have reviewed many versions of this document. I have not seen one
created yet for 10.1.3 though (especially without JSF as our 10.1.2 AS server
will not support it). I need to find an example or documentation that shows
how we can keep from having the JDBC URL stored in the BC4J.xcfg or a way to
use dynamic JDBC credentials with a JDBCDataSource. We do not want to store
the userid and password in the application, rather, we would like to setup
something that can be configurable from the application server.
I think we need to use the dynamic JDBC credentials because we are using the
row-level security, where we setup a database context for the user and only
allow certain records of a database table to be returned to the browser based
    on that context.
Might there be a way to still use the JDBCDataSource?

I understand that the user provides the userid and password and that these values are setup using the Configuration class.
However, when I am to deploy the ADF Business Module with my application, I have to specify either a JDBC URL or a JDBC DataSource in the Oracle Business Component Configuration.
When I use JDBC DataSource, the code does not work properly, almost like the user's credentials are not used for the connection (I get errors like table or view does not exist).
When I use the JDBC URL, the bc4j.xcfg stores a reference in the JDBCName attribute to a ConnectionDefinition in the same file. It is in this tag of the bc4j.xcfg where the userid, sid, and password (encrypted) is stored and used when retrieving the initial context of the ADF business components.
It is these values that I want to have stored else where so that the application does not have to be redeployed in order for the password (or sid, or other connection information) to be change.

  • Scp works when logging with my user id but fails when using another one

    Hello all:
I wrote a script that uses scp to transfer specific local files to a server. The script takes the user id and password and pass them as scp's parameters for authentication.
Everything works fine when I uses my own user id to test the script but it fails when I used another id (with ligitimate password) to do the same thing.
I suspect it's a privilege issue. Both ids belong to the same group. Where should I look to fingure this out?
    Thanks,
    John

SCP is part of SSH. SSH requires the exchange of authorization keys to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
When you log in the first time you may see a prompt like:
    RSA key fingerprint is 98:2e:d7:e0:de:9f:ac:67:28:d2:42:2e:37:16:58:45.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?
This might be where your script fails. Since it prompts only the first time, you may just have to do one interactive SSH login to create an entry in ~/.ssh/known_hosts
Or setup User equivalence to omit the exchange of passwords.

  • 802.1X PEAP fails when using special characters in login

I am using MS AD & NPS for 802.1X Enterprise authentication with PEAP (no client certificate - MS-CHAPv2 user credentials for login). This works fine for iOS devices on 8.1 (iPhone 5 and iPad mini) and 6.1.6 (iPhone 3GS) when the user has standard "English" ASCII characters in the username and password.
However, when I introduce Unicode special accented characters in the login name or password such as French é/ù or Spanish ñ then after accepting the server cert authentication fails with "Incorrect username or password for <WLAN name>". Windows 7 and CentOS 6.5 laptops have no problem authenticating to the same setup with either "English" credentials or ones with special accented characters. I also tried an old iPod touch on ancient software version and that fails, so its not something recently introduced.
I tried using a different access point (TP-Link instead of Ruckus) and had exactly the same issue, so highly unlikely this is an AP issue.
Then I setup FreeRadius with and see exactly the same issue, so its highly unlikely to be a MS AD/NPS issue.
When comparing a working/failed authentication Wireshark packet capture on the NPS server, I see the failed attempt is missing the last 4 packets in the authentication exchange. The last packet sent is an Access-Challenge from the NPS server and no response from the iOS device, so the NPS server never even sends an Access-Reject. The iOS device appears to have decided it can't resolve the special characters and terminates the authentication attempt.
To me this seems to be an Apple iOS software deficiency when using Unicode special characters in the username or password for 801.2X authentication?

  • Import Fails When Using Transport Manager ID

    Hi Experts,
When carrying out an import request in NWDI in Change Management Service under

we are getting the below errors and import fails.

'Caller ztesttpt not authorized, only role administrators is allowed to access JMX'

have assigned the following actions to the 'NWDI.Operator' Role.
    CBS.Administrator
    CMS.CriticalFunctions
    CMS.Display
    CMS.Transport
However, when using the ID 'nwdi_cmsadm' (which has FULL authorizations) to do the import
    there is no issue.
Is there any additional actions/roles that need to be assigned to the ztesttpt ID?

  • Introspection Failed when using FBean.Register_Bean() and JInitiator

I am posting this for the benefit of others who might run into it when using the 'enhanced JavaBeans support' in Forms 9i. Under certain circumstances, an FBean.Register_Bean() might silently fail.

  • BK Precision device works in VISA test panel but fails when using driver

I am trying to control a BK Precision XLN power supply.  I have set it up as a TCPIP VISA instrument using sockets (port 5025).  It validates fine in NI MAX, and when using the VISA test panels I can write to and read from it (although I get a timeout error on the read if I specify too many bytes).  When I use the supplied instrument driver blocks in LV, VISA read commands always timeout and fail to return anything, regardless of how many bytes are specified.

I don't think it is a VXI-11/LXI instrument, it did not autodetect and I had to use the 'Manual Entry of Raw Socket' option to set up the device.  I am sending  a termination on the write (\n), if I don't send a termination on the read it captures the read but then gives a timeout error if waiting for more bytes, if I use a termination cahracter on the read it functions as you would expect, except that it returns multiple termination characters (line or carriage feeds) in some messages so you would have to perform multiple reads to get the whole message.  (this is all in the test panels, I haven't gotten anything back using the VISA blocks in a VI)
Given that behaviour it seems more like what you would get using a telnet terminal interface but even given that I still am confused why I can talk to it with the test panel and not using the VISA blocks in a VI.

  • Stored procedure fails when called through jdbc

    Stored procedure returns incorrect results
    Hi!
I am really puzzled about this and would really appreciate some help.
We are migrating an servlet/jsp-application from websphere application server 3.5.3 to
Oracle Application Server 10g. The backend is an Oracle 9i database server. Most of the application
is build upon stored procedures in oracle. So the migration part is to make the servlets and JSPs
to work in their new environment, creating deployment descriptors and so on.
We are using JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 for development on Windows XP OS
    Java version is 1.4.2_03-b02 (ojvm)
and also have an Oracle Application Server Enterprise Edition 9.0.4.0.0
running on a W2K SP6. Java version is 1.4.2_03-b02, for development and testing.
When running standalone (that comes width JDeveloper) OC4J the Java version is 1.4.2-b28 (client VM)
    The problem:
When calling a stored procedure that calls another user defined procedure the returned result is wrong.
The example snippet I've enclosed only success on my standalone OC4J.
When I run the Java-app in JDeveloper using embedded OC4J it behaves incorrectly.
When I run the Java-app deployed at the standalone OC4J that comes with JDeveloper it runs just fine.
When I deploy the Java-app at the Oracle Application Server it behaves bad again.
It looks like the procedure called by the procedure cannot execute correctly or that it got null value as in-parameter.
What puzzles me is that this procedure did work correctly on websphere (JVM 1.2.2 and Oracle jdbc-drivers classes12.jar)
and it does executes just fine on the standalone OC4J.
    I have tried different classes12.jar, ojdbc14.jar, different datasources (com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource,
    oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionCacheImpl) width no succes.

  • Create user fails when used from SOAP UI

    Hello,
I am using SOAP UI to create users using the Web services available in EBS.
I am using the following URL: http://<server>:<port>/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/fnd_user_pkg/
I am able to create user when I use <load:X_UNENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD>pa55w0rd</load:X_UNENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD> in the SOAP Request.
However, when I use <load:X_ENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD>pa55w0rd</load:X_ENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD>, the user creation fails with the following error:

  • How to change a password for an OpenLDAP user, which fails when using Lion's System Preferences?

    The Problem
Users are unable to change their password using System Preferences -> Users & Groups on a Mac that is connected to an LDAP server (specifically, OpenLDAP).
This error appears to be a result of OS X 10.7.4 now sending the username of the user rather than their full DN (e.g. it's sending bobsmith, notuid=bobsmith,ou=Users,dc=companyname,dc=com).
(a bug report for this issue has been filed with Apple and can be seen on OpenRader @http://openradar.appspot.com/11768796)
    Steps to Reproduce:
Try to change the password using the System Preferences -> Users & Groups prefpane on Lion. It fails with the following error message:
The password for the account “bobsmith” was not changed. Your system administrator may not allow you to change your password or there was some other problem with your password. Contact your system administrator for help.
    Expected Results:
    The password should be changed.
    Actual Results:
The error appears, and on the LDAP server, an error like the following is logged:
    Jun 28 08:42:21 ldap3 slapd[7810]: conn=10518785 op=2 RESULT oid= err=21 text=Invalid DN
This error appears to be a result of OS X 10.7.4 now sending the username of the user rather than their full DN (e.g. it's sending bobsmith, notuid=bobsmith,ou=Users,dc=companyname,dc=com)
Notes: This was encountered by someone else over at the AFP548.com forums who ended up patching their LDAP server to resolve the issue. This shouldn't require patching LDAP to resolve, however. Lion needs to (at least have an option to) send the full DN of a user requesting to change their password, not the short username:
Text from above forum link (in case it is taken down):
So, I’ve got this OpenLDAP server with network home directories at home that all of my Mac machines authenticate to. Everybody can bounce around to whatever Mac is available. It works great.
Anyway, with Snow Leopard, I was able to change user passwords via System Preferences. However, that got broken when I upgraded to Lion (amongst other things). Both Snow Leopard and Lion send exop’s to the ldap server, but for whatever reason, the id is screwed up in Lion (or at least, it’s screwed up on the two machines at home I tested this with). Instead of sending the user’s DN, e.g. “uid=user,cn=users,ou=something,dc=somewhere,dc=com”, the ldap server is only sent the uid, e.g. “user”. The ldap server is expecting a DN here, so naturally, it fails with the error “Invalid DN”.
    Bummer.
So, to work around that, I had to patch OpenLDAP (version 2.4.26 in this case). Now, when my server can’t resolve the id it’s given during a password change, it will look at the bind DN, and if the id string is contained within the bind DN string, it will just use the bind DN as the entry to change. I figured this would still allow me to manually specify password changes via an admin account while still giving users the ability to change their own passwords without having to point them at a webpage (lame).
I should point out that all my accounts have the uid as part of the DN… I guess if you were doing some kind of crazy SASL mappings, this might not work for you…
Anyway, here’s the patch in case anyone else is interested… If it works for you, great. If not, oh well.
